Speaking with Ms. Gordon, I found out about the possibility of donating old furniture we might not need anymore. This has been fun. I did enjoy seeing pictures of North Carolina Outer Banks before the heavy development. Lots more to explore and the prices are reasonable.

There are a lot of pieces in the hundreds, but it's really easy to find beautiful things for less than $50. I bought a great hand-painted serving bowl and pitcher. Evolution home has a large selection of vintage clothing, designer bags, home decor, and furniture. Would highly recommend checking this store out. Only downside is the parking. There is limited availability in the front of the store, and even so, the spot required us to 8 point turn to get out because someone parked really close behind us.

And though he's an amazing restorer, he is most enthusiastic about repurposing older pieces to fit your current lifestyle. Ask him about his pump organ projects - something that was basically broken down and unusable was repurposed into a desk with hidden cubbies and secret panels like something out of that National Treasure movie. Which led me to basically dream planning having one of this pump organs be redesigned into a goth themed vanity of my dreams. Never mind that I live in a studio. And I was SHOCKED at how low the starting price for a project like that was - seriously, he is undercharging for the kind of work he does. I am seriously considering getting rid of my couch and tv cabinet just to make room for his custom vanity with secret cubbies and hidden drawers and expandable table tops. But if you're not ready for that and are looking for someone to fix/restore/recane/refinish cherished family pieces or even fix up that flea market find, Mr. McCann is your guy. Over the years my folks had it reupholstered 3xs. When i inherited I had it done boldly in red Naugahyde. That was 21 years ago. Iron Gate Antiques just reupholstered in recycled leather and they added a lil height lift to it because she was a low rider. It's beautiful. This smell is so warm and rich without being overpowering. It also lasts ALL day as I'm writing this from my bed and can still smell it on my skin. Perfect for the winter and ideal for layering with my EOS strawberry dream or vanilla cashmere lotion. I'm tammat edible, ok ! When I got to the front the cashier offered 10% off if you were willing to sign up for text alerts and in this economy I'm did just that. My bottler was $30 but came down to $29 and change after taxes and such. For a bottle that size with the staying power it has I would say it's worth it. I'll definitely be back, with friends.

Each item is priced differently and the items are sorted by category and size. These thrift stores give you a 20% off coupon if you donate something. They also have 25% discount days on Mondays and Thursdays, so those days are pretty busy.

I commiserated with a customer who wanted to buy a small night light with Blessed mother and the Christ child. it was made in China and I would estimate the value to be around $5; they had it priced at $29.99. They were selling a small Willow tree angel for $14.99; you can get a new one at the Hallmark store in its box for that price or less. I also went into the aisle where they had random picture frames. The aisle was crammed with picture frames which were haphazardly arranged. visually it was unappealing and the art frames on the lower shelf were stacked in a way that they were inaccessible.So here is the dilemma; this is a junky thrift shop that is trying to pretend that it is a boutique and it is not happening. I am all in favor of supporting charity thrift stores but this store is unfairly pricing these donated goods such that the people who depend on thrift shopping to add special things or necessities cannot afford them.
