When I first met with her, I asked if it was even possible to make my great-grandfather's ring a few sizes smaller. I specifically asked whether resizing it would affect the stone or the integrity of the ring because it was an antique that had been in my family for years. I explained that I had waited a long time to have it resized because I wanted to make sure it was done correctly. Stephanie assured me it would be "not a problem." She told me to trust her and to read all of her good reviews. I told her that her reviews were the reason I chose her business. I also explained that I had never had jewelry resized before and asked several questions about the process. She told me that she needed to cut out the extra silver from the band in order to bend and make the rings smaller, then soldering them to melt the metal back together. I was excited to finally be able to wear these pieces, and she made me feel confident that they were in good hands. After examining everything I brought in, she told me the work would take about a week. I told her there was absolutely no rush because I wanted to make sure she had plenty of time to do the work carefully, so I actually left my jewelry with her for an additional week. She was pleasant at the beginning of our meeting but then became noticeably snappy, repeatedly reminding me that I would need to bring the yellow receipt to pick up my jewelry. That was understandable. When pickup day arrived, I called a few times. During my first call, she sounded busy and told me she wasn't finished working on my rings but that they would be done by closing time. She said she would call when everything was ready, and once again reminded me--rather abruptly--that I needed to bring the yellow receipt. As closing time got closer and I still hadn't heard from her, she finally called to say my order was ready for pickup and again reminded me to bring the yellow receipt. I assured her I hadn't forgotten. When I arrived, she informed me that one of my rings had not been resized to the size I requested because she "didn't have enough time." This was confusing since I had already given her an extra week beyond her original estimate. It made me wonder whether my order had simply been forgotten. She told me she had just finished working on it. I asked why she hadn't mentioned over the phone that one ring still needed more time. She admitted she should have told me and said she would take care of it. Unfortunately, the ring she needed to resize again was the one that had belonged to my great-grandfather--the same ring I had explained meant so much to me. Having to resize it a second time was very concerning because repeated heating and soldering can increase the risk to the stone and gradually thin the silver. I left the ring with her for additional MONTH. When I got it back, it was still too big, and the silver had been soldered and buffed so thin that I'm honestly afraid to wear it. If Stephanie wasn't confident that she could resize these pieces properly--especially a sentimental family heirloom--she should have been honest with me from the beginning. I would have appreciated her telling me the job was beyond her comfort level or expertise so I could have taken my jewelry to someone else. Or chosen not to have it done at all. Instead, she accepted the work, assured me there would be "no problem". Overall, I am not happy with any of the resizing work. The seams on the resized bands are not smooth or seamless, and the workmanship looks rushed rather than carefully finished. Stephanie asked whether I was happy with my rings, and I honestly told her I wasn't. She tried polishing them to make them look better, but they were still uneven and bumpy. Another issue that disappointed me was that I was never given the silver that had been cut from my rings during the resizing process. Since this was my first time ever having jewelry resized, I didn't know I should ask for those pieces, and they were never offered or returned to me. I later learned that many jewelers return the precious metal that is removed, so I was surprised to find out mine had been kept without any discussion. My great-grandfather's ring is now essentially unwearable for me, and I never received the silver that was removed from my rings. I trusted Stephanie with sentimental family heirlooms based on her reputation and reviews, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Her rates were extremely overpriced and were almost triple the amount other jewelers quoted but was willing to pay thinking the results would be exceptional base on the reviews.

It was so blingy and likely very expensive that she yelled at him for buying it. I, still in elementary school, saw that she was dissatisfied with the purchase and offered to take it off her hands. Surprisingly, she refused my offer. Well, earlier this year, exactly three decades later, she finally gave me the damn thing, along with appraisal paperwork from 1992 saying that it was worth $10,000 even then, before 30 years of inflation. But don't get excited and start planning to rob me quite yet, Internet. She also told me that the guy who sold it to my dad was later federally investigated for selling fake diamonds, so there was a chance it wasn't even real. I needed an appraisal. I looked around, and saw that Ascot Diamonds was highly reputable, so I reached out about an appraisal via e-mail. Paul e-mailed me back very promptly and offered to appraise it for free. I came in at the agreed time expecting it to be a regular storefront but it was more like a serious business office, immediately making me regret my scuzzy short shorts that I had thrown on for running errands. Paul was kind and welcoming and pleasant and sat me down at his desk while he examined the diamonds, weighed the bracelet, and then did a bunch of math on a calculator. He was able to confirm that they were real but that, while the bracelet was definitely worth something, the original appraisal was VERY overstated (so, big surprise, Internet, my bracelet is not worth $10,000, please don't rob me). In addition to giving me this candid but helpful information, Paul offered to recommend places where I could sell it, though I declined, as it is still quite pretty and, after waiting 30 years for it, I'm not ready to give it up. I did, however, point out what I thought was a damage, and asked if he had ideas on where to get it repaired. He looked at it and determined it was just dirt so then he cleaned it for me - again, no charge - and the whole thing is SO sparkly and shiny now. The entire interaction took maybe 10 minutes at the outside? It was so easy and pleasant and helpful, and he really didn't have to do this for me since I am not a paying customer but he did. What a truly nice guy.

Everything is custom made so they only have the diamonds and a few sample holders that you can hold the diamond in with tweezers and hover in the sample ring band. We are in the initial phases of ring shopping so we haven't gotten too far in the process with Ascot. What I will say is I was also initially disappointed with the customer service. The man helping us didn't seem super friendly. He seems passionate about talking about his ring knowledge but not about MY experience if that makes sense. I was probably being a bit cranky that the ring shop wasn't what I expected. So maybe he was giving me the same energy in return. They had tons of diamond choices, but if you're looking for larger carat sizes you might not find it here. He only brought out the carat sizes in 2-3 carat range. I believe they can order what you want, but they didn't have anything in store to try on. When I asked to see a bigger carat for the emerald he said that's all they had (size 3 carat). There weren't a ton of band selections in office to try on either. They have lab and natural diamonds. I didn't see the process but my boyfriend said the prices were reasonable. Just remember they price everything out individually since you're customizing the ring. Also, the ambiance of the ring shop wasn't the best. It just looked like an office which made the experience not feel as special like "wow! I'm in a ring shop and we are really doing this." All of that is part of the experience when shopping. You need to book an appointment in advance. There's street parking, but you have to pay for the street or garage parking. There's no parking validation available. Overall, we might give them another chance once I have a better idea of what it is I want. If you're not sure what you want this might not be the place for you since everything is based on you customizing it. I really want to like this place but I wish they made the experience a bit nicer on their customers. They offer 3D print option of the ring which takes some time but that's the best they can do for us visual folks.

Gretchen was so helpful in finding the perfect size. She explained everything to me (my band has claddagh symbol all the way around) and how there maybe a space where the claddagh is smoothed out to stretch it. I was quoted a price and told it would be about two weeks. Was pleased when the rings were ready for pick up a week early. Rings fit perfect and both rings were cleaned and sparking! Aspen has a real mom and pop feel. All that work there are personable and helpful. Thanks again to Gretchen for all her help!

I wanted a pearl ring to wear every day to keep her close. A wonderful brunette sales associate (who I regretfully forgot to ask her name) approached me to help me to pull it out of the case. I loved the ring named the Kathleen which is also my mother's name coincidentally. The ring in the case happened to be the perfect size for my finger and the last one and I knew I was leaving with it. I told her the significance of the ring and she was so sweet. I started to look at possible stacking rings, she pulled a few in different sizes and styles for me from the back and sat with me as I tried them on, ultimately I decided against getting a stacking pair because of the way the rings sat. My sister and I browsed for a little bit longer and she came out with one more size of the Kathleen ring that she found in another section, it happened to be my little sisters exact size, we purchased matching rings for our big sister. She told us then that we would be eligible for a discount when we purchased both the rings. When we went to checkout she told us she was so touched by our story and the reason we were purchasing that she wanted to give us both a June birthday necklace for free as a gift from her. I cannot speak highly enough of Adeler Jewelers. Let me tell you my story. I walked in there with literally nothing but a few tips from my girlfriend on a ring from two years prior. I sat down with George and gave him a summary of my girl and what she told me from two years ago. He explained the pros and cons of off the shelf rings and custom. He also explained that if the investment in a custom ring from his shop was warranted and my girlfriend did not like something about it or if she wanted a totally different design that he would gladly do it as many times as possible to make her happy. Naturally I would have to pay any price difference but that is it. This fact was pivotal and I want to restate it. If I screw up and pick a poor design that his shop would redo it as many times as it took to make her happy with the ring. How do you argue with that? I opted for a custom ring. They got the ring done a day earlier than originally stated and under budget. I picked it up and in less than 15 hours I was engaged. This is where the rubber really meets the road with Adeler, I picked a size too small for her finger. We brought the ring in and within the hour it was resized at no extra cost to us. They made a fantastic day that much better. They are unbelievable in service and quality. They make you feel at ease and give you a level of comfort that in invaluable when making a decision that needs to be perfect. If you want a piece of jewelry I would recommend that you drive to Great Falls and speak to George Adeler. It will be well worth your time. Before Christmas this past year our long time jeweler botched the big gift and did not offer to make it the correct way but did refund the purchase price. It was the first time I had dealt with this particular salesman as the previous cust rep was not there. I was left to search around for something else and, with a bad taste in my mouth, a new jeweler. I searched all of NOVA and made many calls to jewelers. Just two days before Christmas I knew I would not get anybody to make a custom piece but my conversation with Jorge stuck in my mind. Well, last week my wife lost her diamond earring. I scoured the internet at sites like ebay amazon etc. to find a replacement. It is not a common item. In the process I learned quite a bit about jewels and jewelry design. I again called Jorge. We sat down and created a match. I know it is perfect from the reaction my wife gave me as I gave her the pair as part of her Valentine gift! One reason I will go back to Adelers is it is family owned and operated. I do not have the concern that my regular person will move on and I will have to start with someone that does not know me and my wife. My wife is very specific when it comes to her sparkly things! I feel reassured knowing they will listen and not try to talk her into something she won't like. Sometimes in life you are lucky enough to meet an artist who listens to you and then creates something even more beautiful than you can imagine. Jorge Adeler of Adeler Jewelers is such an artist. I recommend to anyone looking for beautiful new custom designed jewelry, wanting to re-imagine heirloom pieces and/or to repair and refresh jewelry that they have and love. My husband and I had the wonderful experience of working Jorge to create a most beautiful ring that combined precious stones from our fifty years together, I call it "my forever ring". Jorge's original design for this ring, executed with exquisite craftsmanship, uniquely enhances and harmonizes the stones we brought to him with others he provided, to create a stunning and original ring, perfectly symbolizing the joy of a fiftieth wedding anniversary. Jorge also redesigned and enhanced three necklaces and a bracelet that I wanted to wear more comfortably and more often. I proposed to my fiance with an heirloom ring that was my great-grandmother's. It is delicate, with a nice blue-white diamond in a cradle, and filigree hand engraved in the band - a very beautiful ring. When it came time for us to get married, we took my fiance's ring to Jorge to commission my wedding band. I wanted something different than what I could have purchased out of a catalog or over the counter. Here's why - when my father died, he left me his wedding band, and I'd worn it daily since. It held a special significance for me and I wanted that incorporated into the ring my (now) wife was giving me. Jorge took the ring, listened to what I wanted, designed something I thought was fantastic, and created something that beat all of my expectations. My ring captures the spirit of my wife's ring, the spirit of my father's ring, and is that much more meaningful because of it - all while staying within our budget. We're so happy with not only how my ring has turned out, but by the whole experience, that we've purchased my wife's everyday wedding band, as well as decided to have Jorge re-create her engagement ring. I know plenty of jewelers who would produce a quality piece for a good price, but I don't know any who can match the artistry and service of Jorge and his family. Jorge and his team are the best. Period. Jorge met with us during the holidays after we were so upset with an engagement ring we had made by a person that came highly recommended. We had a beautiful stone that was set in what seemed to be a hunk of metal. What I was able to learn was that the highly recommended person didn't do the work and sent it to a jeweler with a note about what we wanted. Here is the Adeler difference: Jorge sat with us and gave us the experience that should come with such a life changing occasion. He provided an education in a way a father would to help us understand the significance of this moment from the ring to the commitment. We just sat there in awe of his knowledge and experience. He listened to us and helped us design the engagement ring we had in mind from the beginning. He listened to everything from how and when the ring would be worn, and he understood the why of what we wanted to achieve. It is perfect. Truly more than I could have ever imagined. Mr. Adeler custom made my engagement ring to match my wedding ring, which was a family heirloom made in an art-deco style. He took a great deal of time and consideration when designing it so that the two rings perfectly complimented each other. When sizing the actual wedding band, he was very careful to keep the original engraving from 1951 intact, he had such a respect for the piece, that I felt immediately comfortable having him work on it. The result is an engagement ring and wedding band that I find myself staring at ALL the time. I love what he created and could not have envisioned anything more incredible. I am so grateful that we went to Adeler Jewelers! From the first phone conversation to picking up the rings in their beautifully wrapped boxes, the experience was wonderful. Great custom work, gorgeous stock items. I have been shopping at Adeler Jewelers for several years, and have always been delighted with their service. I had a nice diamond I wanted reset (another jeweler's work was very disappointing) and I went in and met with Jorge. The resulting necklace is dramatic, wearable and the envy of my friends. My mother-in-law wanted her engagement ring reset after she was widowed, and the resulting ring was simply amazing. She loves it, and the fact that some of the gold from her engagement ring was incorporated into it. The service from Val and Wendy is terrific-- Val's designing is also very nice. The work they do is expensive, but definitely unique and lovely. Where else can you see meteorite paired with pearls? The modern stones are interesting and dramatic, the classic pieces are wonders. I went into Adeler's a few months ago to get an engagement ring for my (now) fiancee. From the very first communication Jorge and his daughters helped me feel as comfortable as possible. Jorge spent as much time with me as I needed to design the perfect engagement ring. As I described my fiancee, he was busy thinking of how to portray her personality in the jewelry. He also made the diamond-selecting process extremely painless and gave me all the knowledge I needed to make an educated decision. The ring he created was perfect. It matches my fiancee to a tee. He gave me the credit for describing her so well but it takes a true artist to be able to capture that description in a piece of jewelry. I could not have asked for a better experience. I went to Adeler last year after reading some reviews online, and I have to say, they really live up to their expectations. Jorge was extremely helpful and welcoming, and took the time to work one on one with me to design the best engagement ring for my wife. He asked me my budget and what I was looking for, and he went to work. Within a week-ish, the ring was ready and I couldn't believe how nice it turned out. We just went back recently and sat down with Jorge again for his help with picking out wedding bands, and after sizing, they are beautiful and I can't wait to wear it all the time. I would like you to take a moment and sit back and picture a world where we did not yet know the…read morewords, "COVID-19" or "social distancing." This is the idyllic world we lived in, in late February 2020, when I strolled into my local small-town jeweler, Hunt Country Jewelers, and dropped off my diamond stud earrings to be reset in yellow gold. I dealt with Claire Cutshall and our interaction was pleasant and brief. She told me my earrings would be ready in about 2 weeks. Fast forward about two weeks into early March: schools are shutting down, people are hoarding toilet paper, and fear is running rampant. It is then that I get a phone call from Claire letting me know that while in transit to New York City, my diamond studs were stolen out of a package. This, my friends, was the first time I had ever heard that my diamonds were leaving the small hometown shop known to us as Hunt Country Jewelers. If you read their very own website's homepage you see they pride themselves on all of their in-house work. I was so shocked to hear that my diamonds were lost but was pacified by the owner's reassurances that she would make this right and replace them with "better" stones. The original diamonds were roughly 1/3 carat each but Claire insisted they were only 1/4 carat each and that I was mistaken about their size because they had a bezel setting, making them appear larger. Luckily for me, I had an old appraisal stating that I was correct about their carat weight. I should have known at this point that this business was going to attempt to cut corners in dealing with my issue, but sadly I did not. She did indeed replace my stones with ones that were reportedly slightly "better" and had them available for us to pick up. They looked fine enough, although certainly not very different than the ones I had dropped off, but Claire told me they were better so I trusted that. At this point, we were embroiled in the most stringent COVID restrictions and the idea of getting an outside appraisal, or frankly going into any brick-and-mortar store was almost unthinkable. I tucked them into my jewelry box and believed they had made the matter right. In October of 2020 things had somewhat settled down, so I took these earrings to a very trusted and long-established jeweler to have them graded and appraised. Much to my surprise and chagrin, they graded worse than Hunt Country Jewelers had told me in color, clarity, total carat weight, and overall value. When I contacted Hunt Country about this, the owner assured me that she had specs on the diamonds asserting that her information was correct. I had to contact her multiple times via phone, email, and even dropping in to get this information. She did offer to have them graded out of the setting in front of me, but at this point, I had frankly lost trust in their information and decided to instead go to a third independent jeweler. I am sad, though not surprised, to report that the third jeweler concluded that the second jeweler, and NOT Hunt Country Jewelers, was accurate. In conclusion, while the new stones were a relatively fair match to the originals, what I was most upset about was the dishonest assertion that they were a superior replacement to compensate me for the sentimental loss and then their defensiveness when confronted with this fact rather than a sincere apology. I clearly will not be darkening their doorway again in the future and would really caution you to think twice before you trust any jewelry you care about with Hunt Country Jewelers.
