When we purchased a home in northern Virginia a good friend said that we needed to come to Adeler for a project. My wife's engagement ring was a pigeon blood ruby purchased for my great grandmother in 1890. It was/is a very unique ruby with significant value, but the setting was antique and the ring was stressed. Jorge pulled me into his office and showed how we could recreate the ring. He helped with an entirely new design....platinum instead of yellow gold, new diamonds, and a completely renovated ruby that needed it after 130 years. The result was incredible. My wife is thrilled with the remake and we now have a new family heirloom which will stay in the family for centuries more. This jewelry store is truly a "gem" for northern Virginia. When you come to Adeler Jewelers, prepare to receive an education! My mother recommended them to me for my wedding ring after coming in for a repair to my father's puzzle ring - puzzle rings are very precise pieces of jewelry and she was impressed with the repair. My husband ordered my engagement ring from Etsy, but the seller didn't have a matching wedding band, so I came to Adeler to have one made and to look for a ring for my husband. They gave invaluable advice about how to care for my engagement ring - the band is very thin and delicate and I wouldn't have known how quickly it could wear down if they hadn't told me. The also recommended soldering my wedding and engagement rings together so that they would last longer - an elegant solution I wouldn't have considered! They were very helpful and thoughtful in helping my husband choose a band and coming up with ways I could add a personal touch (adding a circle of silver taken from one of my pieces of jewelry - I didn't know this was even possible!). My sister has since come in as well for help and advice on how to repair and recreate some of her older jewelry and received very good advice on next steps and price points. This is all especially meaningful considering that my family and I probably represent some of their lower cost sales - their custom designed pieces on display are far and above anything I could afford, but we've always been given top service and cost-effective advice in addition to stunning craftsmanship. My husband and I discovered Adeler Jewelers six years ago when we were shopping for an engagement ring. We had a consultation with him, I showed him a few photos of rings that I liked and we explained to him that I didn't want a "typical" diamond. Today we had our most recent Adeler experience. We walked into the store to shop for a tennis bracelet and were welcomed warmly and offered refreshments. Again, I didn't want a "typical" tennis bracelet; I wanted something with a certain character but also with some color. I wanted to incorporate the same gemstone as the one in my engagement ring. We looked at the bracelets in the case and they were not quite what I was looking for. Buyer Beware. Not a good experience. After custom designing a setting a picking out a stone, we picked up our engagement ring only to find later that it had been chipped during the setting process. Adeler did not immediately acknowledge or take ownership of this mistake and we were forced to get an independent evaluation. Eventually, the total purchase price of our ring was refunded to us but it was a hassle and very disappointing. Be careful when dealing with this jeweler. read more

I went into Adeler Jewelers twice. The first time I sat down with Jorge and he took the time to walk me through the process of creating a setting for an engagement ring for my fiancee. I was looking to use a family heirloom stone in the ring. He was very helpful with talking through the process of including the stone. I ended up getting a setting elsewhere, but brought the setting & stone, to get switched out, to Adeler based on the positive experience I had the first time. Jorge took one look at the setting and old stone, and said it couldn't be swapped out because it wouldn't fit. I took the ring to another local jeweler (Aspen Jewelers) and they swapped the stones out, and it fit perfectly. This jeweler is great for coming to them for original ideas, but not so helpful when it comes to updating existing jewelry. read more

I love this place. I found Adeler on Google when I was searching for custom jewelers for my wife's engagement ring. I drove down from Bethesda, MD, on a whim and met with Jorge for an hour while we just talked about the process, my relationship, and life. He spent time getting to know me and what my priorities were for the ring. He also spent time coaching me. I was aware that Jorge had a reputation for high-end clients and was embarrassed at first about how much I was looking to spend but Jorge made me feel great about my decision and was happy to work within my budget. I was so pleased with the experience that I brought my fiance back to have her wedding band made by Jorge. He met with us, heard what she wanted for the band and worked his magic.
