I am one of those rare brides that tried on one dress and loved it from the get go. It was perfect! I knew what I wanted when I went into the store and the owner, Marissa, helped me find just what I was looking for. I didn't need many alterations but I made sure I scheduled my appointment while I was there to make sure my dress was ready for my wedding because they seemed pretty booked up. I was excited to go back for my last fitting and take my dress home. The ladies made me feel welcome and kept my fitting stress free. My new daughter-in-law got her dress from here. The selection is not huge, but the mom/daughter team there is very nice. The reason I am giving them a 5 is for the great value factor on alterations. If you order one of the designs from a designer they use and order early enough, you can pay a little extra (I think it was about $165) and they make the dress to your measurements instead of having to have it altered later. This is awesome to do instead of the ridiculous charges some of these bridal stores charge for alterations. Her dress was beautiful. read more

No I do not recommend going to Alexis Kay Bridal!! They told us how the flower girls dress SHOULD look and not what the bride wanted. They told us that we were rude and turn us down, a paying customer! They said my daughter will have some time to grow into the dress when the wedding is two weeks away! They called me a put the blame on me instead of fixing a customer relationship. So no I will never recommend going there nor will I ever go back. That is not how a paying customer should be treated! So happy I found this place! I'm quite large in the chest, and every other bridal salon I tried only had unflattering sweetheart necklines. Not only did I find the perfect dress here, but I was able to get my dress altered to fit in only two trips. Marissa and Dawn were also great with my mother of the bride dress. They had to order a size larger than what we thought, but that was to make sure the dress fit the widest part of her body (also her chest... like mother like daughter). The dresses came in earlier than expected and I was even able to get an extra brides maid dress rush ordered and fitted with a month to go before the wedding. They made my special day flawless! I will have to say that they do have a pretty good dress selection, and in the beginning I had a really good experience. I did trust them as they are the experts and trusted they knew what they were doing. As a bride I had a lot to worry about and figured they would take care of things that had to do with the dress. I will say the dress turned out good, but not exactly what I wanted, but it's hard to say if my expectations were a little unrealistic or if they were not doing all they could, it's hard to tell. For example they told me my dress was very very heavy, but proceeded to only attach one button for the bustle. This was frustrating for me. The owner said "it's a hit or miss, sometimes they break and some times they don't" instead of trying to add a few--again I don't make dresses so I'm sure there was some reason she didn't, but it was still upsetting. The bustle did break and I carried my huge train around for more than half the night. The sleeves of my dress were also an issue because originally the dress did not have over the shoulder straps but I wanted it that way and because of a few factors with fixing the straps, they looked loose and were the most annoying thing the day of, I was super annoyed with them day of. They needed to be tighter and the body tape did not work. They did tell me I will need to be taped up but they were so loose and I trusted that they knew what they were saying that with tape it would look better, it did not. Taking a few steps back in the timeline, we did go through them as well for bridesmaid dresses and some of their experiences were upsetting for me as the bride. Some of the bridesmaids explained that they were rude on the phone and making comments about how my wedding should be over by now.....even though it was months and months before mine was actually happening. I did bring this up to them and she let me know it was more or a joke and that she didn't mean it in a rude way. I moved on from that as I don't think she was trying to be malicious. I would have to say I enjoyed working with Marissa more than Dawn and I think over all, my bridal party felt the same way that Marissa was more personable and enjoyable. I think some of it was my choices in my dress and what I wanted done, but I also get like along the way there was more they could've done. I am not on here to talk bad about them but give a true picture of my experience with them over about a year of time. read more

Alexis Kay Bridal is a joke! They are rude and unprofessional! They allowed someone to pay and walk out of the store, confronted them on the phone instead of in person. I would give no stars if I could, but I have to so I can warn everyone! You do not talk poorly to a child regardless the behavior, you speak to the mother. I have worked with you guys twice in the past, both times you disappointed. Giving you the benefit of the doubt I recommend you for MY flower girl, to have her dress altered! Again your a fucking disappointment! You aren't sorry for any of your actions, you're worried about MONEY and not working! If you wanted the flower girl dress to fit better you would have done it right, LISTENED to the mother of the flower girl, instead the customer is telling you it's to big and you ADMIT to it! Had she not said anything that dress would've been too big! YOU DO NOT tell someone, especially for a child, that she will gain 10lbs in time and will fit the dress. If you did not feel you had enough time to do the dress because of the "time is limited" you shouldn't accept the client and kindly turn them down. Also I do not believe you're worried about cost you're worried about having to do more work, and did not listen about THE PAYING CUSTOMERS wanted the length. Remember...treat people how you want to be treated. You can't be rude and expect to be treated kindly in return. read more

My daughter received a wedding dress from a friend who bought a different one. She loved the dress, but wanted some changes made to it. Dawn is absolutely a master seamstress.... not only did she remove the train from the dress & hem it perfectly, she added off-the-shoulder type straps that looked as if they had come with the dress... & she took the dress in so expertly that the side ruching and beadwork looked like they were original. Unfortunately what is supposed to be the most fun part about being a bride...the dress...turned out to be the most awful experience. My sister and I bought our dresses under the assumption we had free alterations...a deal we made the day we bought our dress. When it was time to pay for the second installment of our dresses, the owner tried to go back on the deal of free alterations. After much back and forth and heated discussions, the owner finally relented. When I went to schedule my alteration appointment 4 months later, the owner told me that they were all booked up and could not fit me in. I told her that it was her responsibility to make time, hire more people, etc. She told me it was her business and she could do whatever she wanted. After much discussion and very nasty attitude from her, she finally said I could come but it had to be the next day and she could not make any promises that my dress would be back until the day before my wedding!! I finally decided that it was not worth dealing with her and taking the chance of not getting my dress the day before my wedding. I am now going to another person for my alterations. Although I'm sure the owner is a nice person she is a terrible terrible business woman! I paid a lot of money for my dress and she has made the whole experience extremely stressful and awful. I dreaded every conversation I had with her. A good business woman would try to accommodate me. I would not recommend going to the place. Buying your wedding dress should be a fun part of your wedding! read more

My dress designed by myself, my new husband Tom, the owners Dawn & Marissa turned out to be SO beautiful! After giving Dawn our ideas she drew up a dress design, I picked the fabric and lace. Did the usual fittings and the dress was born. I could not have felt more beautiful on my wedding day!!! This was the 2nd dress that the very talented Dawn had made for me, We were totally delighted with the finished product. Because of their talent and fabulous shop I have the most stunning wedding dress. My new husband said I had never looked more beautiful than I looked on our wedding day. I'm from out of town but stopped in with a friend. Cute little store with a wonderful staff. They didn't mind that we didn't have an appointment and let my friend try on any wedding dress that she wanted. It was amazing how welcoming the store was to plus size women. My friend is a size 14 and was having a huge problem finding a place that even had something in store that she could try on. I was shocked that they had bridesmaid dresses that I could feel comfortable in. Even with her wedding only a little over a month away they were able to order in her dream dress and my dress as well as another friend of ours from out of state. Definitely suggest this place to the larger girls. :) read more
