An honest review. For the price,it's amazing! The Chile Rellenos were delicious. The Chicken quesadilla wqs packed full of chicken. While it was delicious and I will do this again, the chicken itself lacked a bit of seasoning, but the flavor was there and overall, fabulous! So much food. We ate it for lunch and dinner without skimping on anything! The portions are above and beyond! Not one but two chile rellenos. Makes for another visit foe sure. I first time coming to Alfredo's on S. 14th in Abilene. When we came in we were greeted by the staff. It was really busy for a Sunday at 11am. You order from the counter with a menu on the wall. They serve a full menu until 3pm on Sunday and 11pm during the week. A TV with sports playing in the background. We had the barbacoa burrito, a BLT burrito and a chorizo,egg and refried bean taco. Food came out really fast and as ordered. Really good taste and worth every penny we spent. Burritos and tacos are a really good size for the price. Everyone else had something different around us and all of it looked really good. We will definitely be coming back. read more

They're bean and cheese burrito is so good. I had extra cheese. It's very helpful that they have a drive-through. Other good things on the menu are the breakfast burrito which has crispy bacon and potatoes as well as eggs. They also have Leche cake if you like that. read more

They advertise that they are open until 4 pm. We had Dr appointment and could not make it there until 3:45 pm. Drive like heck from treadaway and when we arrived, the doors were locked. They need to advertise that they are going to close15 mi ites early. We eat there constantly, but we are going to change. read more

I ordered the 2 ground beef taco combo with rice and beans. I was super hungry so I ordered 2 additional tacos with it. I had to take them to go because I was stuffed with just the combo plate. They really stuff their tacos full!!!! It's loaded with ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream! Big portions and prices are pretty reasonable. It is delicious food too! The only grip I would have is that the chips and salsa wasn't real good. I guess I like the really flaky tortilla chips and these were a bit thicker. But that's just me. I hope you enjoy! read more

I would eat here every day if my stomach gave me permission. I don't even like 'Mexican' food that much....you know...our Americano version of Mexican food. But I adore Alfredo's! Every time I have eaten here I get enough food to last me for 2 days. You get so much food for your $ and the food looks mostly real. It doesn't look like or taste like it came out of a deep freezer. I always get the taco salad...either beef or chicken. I will even venture out of my house on a Saturday or Sunday morning for their burritos. A-OK. Fast food Mexican with some brights spots, some decent parts, and some meh on the side. I got the tamale plate and my wife got cheese enchiladas. She liked hers, so let me be clear there. Were she reviewing, I'll be it'd be 4 stars. My tamales were soggy and pretty lackluster, and I didn't care for the red sauce. Rice and beans were okay. Chips were great, and salsa was a big highlight. I first had the roasted, and it was legit. Then I tried the green, and it was awesome - although thin. The chips and salsa scored big with me. Yum. And spicy, as others have mentioned. If not for them - and the super friendly service at the front counter - this would probably be a 2-star review. Interior is a recycled fast food joint with old-school, narrow, hard benches. The place is small, and drive-thru seems to be their bread n butter. LOT of drive-thru while we were there but very few sit-down customers. Pepsi fountain drinks. Last blah point for me was Styrofoam serving dishes. Such a waste. Bottom line: it is what it is, which is very basic fast-food Mexican. Great chips and salsa, but everything else left a lot to be desired. Next Abilene stop will be somewhere else. read more

My wife and I have several favorite mexican restaurants, but when it comes to breakfast burritos, Alfredos has the best in town. They cost a little more than other places but that is because they are HUGE! The choriso and egg or the muchaco are my favorites but the bacon and egg are also great.Throw in their wonderful hot sauce for a breakfast that cant be beat. read more

I went through the drive thru it's very cramped but it's perfect for my sedan. Ordered the carne asada fries half portion it was SO MUCH. The salsa was on point. The half portion could be for two people but for 2-3$ more you could just get the full. I'm sure it'll be plenty for two people. I'm ready to go back again and again and again. Went to Alfredo's on S 14. They were very busy. Ordered nachos supreme with no sour cream. Asked for fresh onions. Price listed on menu was $9.99. Had to wait for food to be brought out to me. On arriving at home, I found loads of sour cream. No cheese. Was charged $11.99. Since I am rural, I did not have the option to drive back. Always Always check your order before you leave. Hands down best faster food type Mexican (Tex-Mex) restaurant I have eaten at. My wife got the enchilada/burrito plate and it was incredible (She doesn't even like enchiladas, but tried them on a suggestion) and I asked the girl that took our order what she suggested (I do this at every new restaurant I go to). She said nachos and I was a little skeptical, but the super nachos were actually very good...specifically the meat was well seasoned and tender. I got to try some of the other samplings and we took some tamales home (7.99 for a dozen!). Can't go wrong here. PS- The other review is wrong. It's not dirty...just not fancy, but the tables, floor, trays, etc were clean. You only have to pay for refills on specialty drinks (Like orchata), but not for fountain drinks. read more

Three stars, but only for fairness. I would have given two stars (because I personally didn't enjoy it) but it also wasn't what I expected--it leans much closer to traditional mexican then tex-mex. Judging it from a 'traditional' standpoint it would probably be 3.5-4 stars, so I figured I'd split the difference. I went for dinner and had the two beef burritos, which were a lot of food but only okay. I think I'd try again for breakfast, but I wouldn't return for lunch/dinner, as I've found I prefer Blue Taco. read more

Their super nachos tasted delicious. Unfortunately they were light on everything but the meat and cheese. Everything else was not good at all. The enchilada sauce and refried beans tasted canned. If I could give this place a 2.5 I would, I ordered the carne asada chips from here last night and although the carne asada was tasty they literally gypped me I barely had any beans hardly any guacamole hardly any chips. I've ordered from them very often but at the Buffalo Gap location and have had this very same experience once before here at this same location.
