My Fiancé has been begging me to try this place because he saw it on instagram. I was hesitant because we went to a cafeteria like place in commerce and it was mid. They have two lines; one for the togo cafeteria line and one to be seat in their dining area. We choose to dine in and ended up waiting approximately 20 minutes for a party of two. Once seated the wait began for service. The servers are either spread thin or too busy socializing with one another.. not sure which was more of the problem. Eventually we were able to place our order. My fiance got the machaca plate and I did the 3 burrito special. We also ordered a puerco tamale and an asiento (which we never received). The burrito were overpriced about the amount of filling in them. The machaca was decent, but nothing spectacular. The tamale was the best thing we tried that morning and i would totally recommend trying it. The cafe de olla was real and good too! overall, it was an okay experience. It is very busy and crowded. Amazing food! Made a trip to SoCal and had to stop here as they serve authentic food from Sinaloa. No tacos or that stuff, real everyday food. I came for dinner and had barbacoa which is a staple food for us and it was so good I came back for breakfast the next morning to get machaca and a corn tamale dorado. My better half also loved this place and she is from Durango. Fresh tortillas. They also have numerous desserts and the guava pie is so good, reminds me of Panama cafes in Sinaloa. They have numerous items like salsas, cookies, pan de mujer, and even machaca and asientos to purchase to make at home! The place gets really busy but overall moves quickly. The staff are all so nice and super helpful. The location is big but it fills up quick but didn't have to wait too long. I really don't understand the low star rating as this place exceeded my expectations. This is not a typical taqueria Mexican food spot or a "Sinaloa Mariscos" spot, this is a real every day Sinaloense food spot. Awesome experience here today Saturday around 3:30 pm! Party of three! I'm not from Sinaloa (I am Colombian), so I wouldn't know how authentic the food is, but what I can say is that it was delicious. Staff were super friendly, very helpful and patient as I was trying to figure out what to order. The restaurant was nice, clean, organized, and well kept. They have a little section where you can buy some of the products, as well as flans, and other cold desserts. The food was tasty, not spicy (My plate wasn't), it tasted almost homemade. The fried tamales de elote were the best. In Colombia we have something like that, but we call it bollos de mazorca (Not fried though). We stopped by today for lunch (Thursday 5/21) and the food was absolutely delicious. The menu has great variety, and the portions were generous. Unfortunately, the seating situation was pretty disorganized. We had to wait longer than expected (20mins) and staff seemed confused about who was next. I came on a Monday during lunch time with my two kids. I ordered the Plato de Barbacoa and it was delicious and very savory. I also ordered a regular coffee which was decent. The tortillas de maíz were good too. The ONLY thing they LACK IN is attending their customers. It wasn't that busy and my son and I had to wait for more tortillas so this meant our food getting cold. I think the basket only came with four. Automatically they should've known to bring more if there's three people eating! My coffee also took a looonnnggg time to get. We visited this place for the first time on Wednesday and we got to the place around 12pm which was a very bad time. There were no tables to sit and after waiting to be sat, waited another 15-20 minutes. When we sat they brought our drinks right away,but to place our order we waited another 15 minutes and to get our food was another 15-20 minutes. I came here after seeing so many great reviews and was excited to bring my family to try the food. We were told the wait would be about 30 minutes, which was completely understandable, and we waited patiently. After finally being seated, another 30-45 minutes passed and no waiter ever came to take our order. We weren't even offered water or coffee. We asked three different times for someone to help us, but were completely ignored. Eventually we decided to walk out because at that point we had been there well over an hour with absolutely no service. Very disappointing experience, especially after hearing such positive things. The food here is delicious. My party ordered gorditas de asiento, rajas, sopa, frijoles, and barbacoa. The food was served with handmade tortillas. Everything tasted authentic and good like mom's cooking, especially if you are from Northern Mexico. The service was prompt and attentive. After almost 15 minutes no one came around to take our order, we could see the Waitress doing best she could, we decided to eat elsewhere, we did buy a Jar of honey, Chicharones and flour tortillas but that took a while as well. The cash register are also needs some help to speed things up. There is also a line out the door to by items in their store shelves on the left or order food to go. There are two different lines (dine-in and take-out) they are very slow taking orders and getting food to the table. Not the greatest experimenter for our first time. Waited about 40 minutes outside to get a table. Not the best neighborhood...homeless screaming at everyone, horrible weed smell that activated my asthma. Once you're called, you are assigned a table and can sit down once you order at the register. We ordered, sat down and we unfortunately had the table closest to the register. What started as a line turned into a mob of people standing up front. Bumping into us as we're sitting. Literally putting their stuff down on our table. We even had people that thought it was ok to buy their ass on our table to sit while they were waiting to order. The staff was doing nothing to organize this back into a single line. It was rather frustrating. We finally got our food and it wasn't hot. I would say it was barely warm. It had decent flavor, hence the 2 stars but that's about all this place had going for it. The quality of the food is a 5/5. The ambience is lovely however the seating needs much improvement. Once you find a seat, you're sort of stuck bc the walk ways are so tight. It's definitely tolerable. What's not tolerable and I hope can be fixed event is the system for ordering food. Two different lines. Line 1: Waited in line to order about 30 mins, fine. "Line 2" (not really a line) to get the sides took over 20 minutes not to mention people cut us! That was the worst part of the experience! It needs much improvement. First time here this past weekend, although the food was clearly great and authentic the service and disorganization was atrocious!!! If you are in a hurry this is not the place for you, if you got about 2 hours then yes. There was 2 lines one for to go orders and one for eating inside but oh lord the line took forever to move, the girls working there looked overwhelmed and lost! No direction at all and finally when you do get to the front of the line the counters are full of products and you have no space to put your items you want to purchase, we literally were handing over by one item to the cashier. The tables inside were half empty and I couldn't understand why?? If so many people were in line??! It's chaos in there for sure!
