I've gotten my daughter's gold charms soldered on, I've had many rings sized, I've had two rings with missing stones replaced, I had an Aquamarine earring turned into a pendant, and I've sold junk gold like broken bracelets and unwanted jewelry all here. So of course when I got engaged and was given a diamond ring by my future in laws, I brought it to a jeweler I trust! Rodrigo did such an amazing job on our custom wedding ring set, I knew he would but he went above and beyond. It has been the least stressful part of the whole wedding planning! And he prioritized getting the rings done so quickly, I literally got the rings before the alterations on my dress have been completed! All three rings pictured were custom done by Rodrigo and I've included a picture of the original ring with the stone. I am beyond the moon with how they turned out and am so thankful to Rodrigo for making the process so easy and really working with me to get exactly what I wanted. I'm…read morehappy to report the appointment went smoothly and apparently everything is healing really well, which of course allowed for the downsizing to happen. Kat did the downsizing procedure this time and she was just as cool to work with as the first time I saw her. Kat's great because she makes you feel so comfortable and she really takes her time to explain what she's doing every step of the way. Switching out the helix post was nice and easy, the flat was a little more tender and a tiny bit painful (it got bumped a few more times during healing so far compared to the helix due to its location), but it calmed down after about 20 minutes, so it was not a big deal at all. Kat also told me despite the bumps/snags the flat experienced, the piercing was still lying perpendicular the way it was initially pierced, which is good news. Downsizing costs $15 per post and $10 for the service + tax. You get to keep your old posts too. Best of all, just like last time, they sterilize everything. It's now been a couple of days since downsizing and everything feels and looks great! Looking forward to these piercings healing up nicely, I can't wait! I still highly recommend JuL Head Piercing, they're great!

Apparently no navel or nipple piercing here per their website. Jul is a more luxury shop due to the many unique designs and offerings. A lot of offerings from BVLA. That being said-- you get what you pay for. The items are mostly some sort of 14k gold or higher. I'm not sure if they have stainless steel as an option. That being said, they have gorgeous pieces that you probably won't find elsewhere. I went to a piercing shop on Melrose on the West side and their offerings can't even compare to the pieces at Jul. So if you're willing to spend 100-700 bucks for some fine jewelry this is definitely the place. I saw a gold Chinese dragon. Definitely would look cute as a flat. Again-- pieces you can't find elsewhere. I had a thread less piece that got stuck. I wanted to switch to a non-thread less piercing for my flat. They were able to get it off easily and sized me for a new earring easily. Parking in the garage on the street next to Starbucks is the easiest spot I'd recommend.

There was also a woman on the phone, which I understand, but even after that, there was still no greeting or basic acknowledgment. When he finally spoke to me, his facial expression and tone felt dismissive, like I wasn't worth the time. He did give me the information I needed, so I got what I came for. But the overall interaction didn't sit right with me. It felt like I was being judged based on how I looked or what I brought in. A customer is still a customer, no matter what they walk in with. The first time we didn't bring my jade and other items, just chat with Mr. David and found out that he is a very knowledgeable and experienced master with Jade, diamond and other gemstones with so many years hands on experiences. So I made my decision to bring my jade, diamond and ruby to him the next visit. Mr. David is very professional and knowledgeable. He explains every item's details from the look to the test results from his professional examination equipment. Also showed us the similar item both in fake and real in his own collections to teach us the difference between the fake one and nature stone. For my real diamond, he counted the whole one and melees very carefully and gave the most precise appraise price, and also the current retail price. He also gave me the advice on not to change the diamond ring's base and the reason behind this, and help us to clean the item with the professional tool. Mr. David is a very fun person to chat as well, it's really fascinating to hear some of the stories from the master who has been trough a lot. We are glad to find the Pro like Mr. David in this field in LA area with all the strong knowledge and vivd personality. We will definitely visit Mr. David's laboratory again to lean more and enjoy this atmosphere surrounded by these beautiful stones and interesting history.

I came in looking to resell some gold, clean my jewelry, repair a necklace, and to look for some new earrings. Like the other reviews said, the shop is owned and run by David and his mom. David speaks fluent English and Cantonese. I think some Vietnamese as well. His mom for sure speaks Cantonese and Vietnamese. They're both very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Let them know what you're looking for and they'll have recommendations for you! RESELLING JEWELRY David was very honest with me. I had some loose stones and he let me know there's not much anyone can do with them. I also had a ring that he identified as fake gold so it was pretty much junk lol. For some earrings that were 18k, he told me that there wasn't much gold (they were small) and because of that I would not get much resale value. Most of the value was really in the labor of making the pieces. I told him the main reason I was looking to sell was because they were white gold and I preferred yellow gold. He suggested I see his colleague at Focus Plaza and get them rhodium plated instead. (And I did for $20, see pics!) CLEANING Nothing to add, he cleaned my engagement ring so it was nice and shiny again. REPAIRING Great! His repairman soldered my necklace back together. The clasp snapped off but it was an easy fix. PURCHASING They have a great selection at great pricing. I ended up getting a pair of earrings with a delicate chain. Super cute and dainty.
