Both of them ordered their own hookah and since I don't do it and it was late at night I didn't want "anything". If you go with a group of people expect to pay at least $150.. The food is just ok but they serve it at least. And the hookah is not a clean fresh taste like Hookah joint or Havana hookah. I am way in to hookah go to Mr. hookah a couple of blocks down but my friend goes to Ali Baba's so i went with her, so unreasonable upset. I went not knowing what to expect the front room was nice seemed to be relaxing but we were quickly rushed to the back room the music was nice but it was so freaking loud i had to strain my ears to her my friend 2 feet away from me. the waitress came to us quickly and took our order we ordered sex on the beach and blue mist mix one of my favs, but when our hookah was brought out i tried it right away it was double apple it tastes like black licorice very distinct taste. i told the guy this is double apple i didnt order this he tried it mumbled some thing then walked away. i waited like 5 minutes for the waitress to come she never came so my friend and i smoked it 25 minutes later the waitress came i told her what happened and she left brought back the guy he tried it again he says "oh i didnt know." i didnt mind smoking the double apple so i told them it cool i dont need a new hookah but they didnt even offer a discount a drink on the house anything. The service plus price impressed me in such a way that I am forced to create an account on Yelp and leave feedback. The staff was amazing, they kept asking if we need anything every 10 minutes. I have never ever seen such service anywhere in chicagoland. They changed the hookah for 3 times without any extra cost. I expected at least $100 bucks while checking out because we have had changed the Hookah for 3 times, but to my surprise it was just 24 bucks. Woaaahh!! I love this place. I've become a fan of hookah so I've probably been to this place about 7-8 times already. I always have a great time and the service is really good. If you sit in the back you get to listen to a variety of different music as well as play cards or bagamon etc. The prices are great and the hookahs are of great quality. This place is horrible, I highly advise you from going here! I used to go here pretty regularly but now refuse to ever go back. Every time I told my self I'll give them a second chance, I've only been let down over and over again. After 5 second chances I'm officially done with this place, and not only am I done with this place I'm so utterly disappointed that I thought I'd write a review. I'm a nice guy, I wouldn't want to leave a bad review, but when someone is so deserving of it, it would be wrong of me not to write it. Their service is HORRENDOUS, their sheesha is terrible and their food is subpar. Everytime I'm done with a session there I leave with a sore throat and the next morning will have to do a saltwater gargle. I used to love this place, but than they got greedy, charging you for every little thing, they refuse to give you tap water, they will not serve you properly and in the end stick you with a gratuity charge you have to unwillingly pay for. I'm all for tipping my waiters/waitress its proper etiquette, but I'd like to be the one that decides to do that, not have it forced upon me, especially when I believe they aren't deserving of it. During the weekends they have whack charges and minimums that you have to meet and even if you're there pretty regularly you aren't shown any courtesy. The only ones that receive that are the owners, his son and their friends. Everyone else irregardless of how many times nor how much money they've spent there, you're nothing but a person filling a seat and nothing more. I'm done with this place....if you're looking for a crappy sheesha with decent seating area and open 24hrs, WITH the worst customer service you'll experience any where, than and only than, do I recommend Ali Baba...otherwise i'd recommend not going anywhere near this place. There are plenty of better places within blocks of this dump...one just down that block is Pharaohs, the sheesha is $10, they have free wifi, their servers are kind, their seating and atmosphere is good and overall a million times better than this place. Second time...good time had by all....THIRD time...great night with great friends..then time to pay..my husband goes up to pay with atm card..and was told to go withdraw from ATM and give her cash. he said sorry not paying extra fees..she said go do it and i will pay the fee. he came back to table..i went to her, asked her what the problem was...she ROLLED HER EYES at me...said i wont explain it again. But she did and she was trying to say that checks under $50 they wont take a card for....but my check was $128....and she could not give me a reasonable explanation as to why she wanted me to take out cash and hand it to her. I kept pressing for an explanation as to why she wanted me to pay her in cash (hubby is aquainted with the owner who is out of the country at this time-we thought he would be interested in how his staff acted when he not around) she could give no explanation but did give PLENTY of attitude. And worst of all the falafel appetizer I ordered immediately made me sick...as in I had to run back into the cockroach bathroom to vomit. And somehow my bill was $29 when all I had was a regular hookah, tea and falafel app...the math seems a bit off. If I hadn't been so sick I'd have stayed to ask about that...but I just needed OUT of that place.I used to like this place and hadn't been in a couple of years. Quality has definitely plummeted. The hookah is not the best hookah in town they could clean the hookahs a little better but it's fair for the price you pay & they do offer a lot of variety in flavors. There is plenty of pay for park spots close by. there's almost always seating even on a crowded night I've been there quite a few times I prefer sitting in the back room where its a bit more private the lighting, seating, & music is different back there & as long as they don't have a party reserved back there they usually will seat you there. The food they serve from their kitchen is not so great but you can always order in from restaurants near by & they will let you eat in there. The owners are nice people but the waitresses are not as attentive as they should be ... they have BYOB for a charge per person but if you want to mix your drink you have to purchase the chaser from there & the options for chasers they have are limited & pricey. read more

I have been smoking hookah for 4 years so far and they have very good hookahs in reasonable prices. They have coconaras too but you have to request them in the dark room .Its 13 and 16 dollars which it's average in Chicago. The food portions are large and delicious. 2 hookahs and 3 dinners with 3 BYOB $92'tax and tip included. My friends and I tried to ignore our last few experiences and gave them another shot. However this time even after we spoke to manager the waitress gave us an issue. So that's when we realized it wasn't really the ali babas we had an issue with... It was the server. She seems sweet at first but when she takes your order you realize she zones out and goes so what did you want. She always gives us an issue when it comes to splitting the check. If we are a party of five and each person is spending over 15$ for their credit card limit she's to incompetent to use her brain and figure out who ordered what and says I can only take 2 cards. She refuses to give separate checks for everyone and demands to write on one. How hard is it to take the persons name and write what they ordered under there name. I have been to many hookah bars and they seem to have no issue making separate checks. Clearly she needs training on how to take orders and listen. She really makes the visit unpleasant.
