They took my insurance until I went in to see her, then nope. Don't know why, or what I did. But she acts mean, terse when she spoke to me. Then after refusing the insurance they accepted at first, she overcharges. $585 for a visit in 2021. I would avoid her like the plague.

Examples (I have many more but will just share a few) - she always makes sure I understand the results of not only tests she orders but ones that my specialists order if they haven't explained them to me. She makes recommendations that are outside of what I would consider often - like she recommended a specific supplement that stopped the hot flashes I developed postpartum for four years vs another provider who told me "well if that's your only symptom, maybe get some fans." She cares about my kids even though they haven't seen her as patients yet*, she is efficient yet spends as much time with me as she can to address my concerns, and she remembers details about me that make me feel cared for and seen. As a now pretty functional person with severe PTSD, I have to stay on top of treatment and such, and to that end Dr. Logan has been willing in the past to communicate with my psychiatric nurse practitioner and therapist - and honestly, she's one of the only MDs/DOs I work with who has been willing/able to communicate with other providers directly in the past several years and it's SO MUCH more efficient than my other providers passing messages back and forth through me like a game of telephone. (*They don't see her yet only because her office doesn't have connections to an after hours pediatric urgent care clinic - once my kids are old enough to not need that we will be switching.) It's really challenging being a provider in today's American healthcare system, and I really appreciate Dr. Logan and how hard she works to make sure her patients get the best care possible within the broken system we're all functioning in. (I'm a different kind of provider in healthcare so see the provider side often - but I'm also a patient.)

Dr Manaku is a gem - a great problem solver who is also very personable and a good communicator. While I have 10 specialists, it is Dr Manaku I turn to get an overall picture and understanding of my medical issues. She is also surprisingly 'available' - most of my doctors take months to get an appointment with, but I can usually see Dr Manaku in a few days. And no long waiting room camp outs because she's generally 'on time'. Amazing to find this caliber of care in today's medical world.

Great multitasker too - as she took notes, she pointed the screen at me so that I could see what she was doing, and she gracefully kept up the conversation. After I disclosed my discomfort around giving blood, she revised her plan to try and get as much done with only one blood draw. Dr. McCune also gave me some tips on how to handle the blood draw. Unfortunately I still passed out like a light, but we were well prepared and the staff in her office were incredible. Dr. McCune's medical assistant, Brittany, was also very kind and attentive. We had great conversation and she put me at ease during one of the shots. Unfortunately my appointment did start 45-60 minutes late that day (not sure if this occurs frequently), but in general I have heard all doctor visits often start late. I'll certainly be back! The first time I saw Dr. McCune I was at my lowest point, and for awhile now I've been really thriving. When I see her and have periodic health concerns or questions, she always takes the issues seriously, and she's able to put them in context of my overall health. She has also helped me see how far I've come in the past 5 years. Dr. McCune is the only physician at Sutter that I've stuck with for this long, and I'm grateful to be her patient!

Nina Birnbaum is an outstanding person? And an outstanding doctor!…read more I made an instant connection with her the first time I met her: she is an excellent listener, asks very good questions, is well-connected, and a superior team-builder. When I came to her I had just finished up with several bouts of pancreatitis - very painful. Three doctors before her had left medical practice during a period of intense change for physicians. I asked her to promise me she would not leave; a rediculous thing to ask but just to say how scared and desperate I felt. I am now older and need more specialists, but she has been with me to help build that team. She is incredibly smart and has diagnosed a number of my situations just by listening to my descriptions (and then getting confirmation). She is kind... so kind. And she tells the truth. I am not afraid of dying, but I really don't like loss of control. Which means having a doctor who is honest with me and treats me like a partner in addressing my medical concerns. I hope Nina will remain my doctor for the rest of my lifetime...

She was very detail about asking me about my family history and my concerns. She took the time to explain to me about certain situations and possible issues with my medical history. The only problem I have with Dr. Malm isn't with her, but with her medical assistant. I don't know if I have offended her in some way, but she is very rude to me. She won't look at me when she talks to me. She's very quick with her answers and always seems like I am bothering her. But I highly recommend Dr. Malm!

She saw me right away, was so kind and, like everyone else has mentioned, really LISTENED to me. I've since been back 2 times, once for a physical and once for another condition. Each visit has been like the first--she never seems rushed, she always keeps her full attention on you, she's very knowledgeable and also realistic when it comes to all the other factors that affect health--stress, exercise, diet, weight, etc. I always leave feeling as though I have been heard and that I have a plan for feeling better or taking care of myself. I feel very fortunate to have found her.
