The dresses here are stunning - if you are looking for a romantic or boho feel, this is a must visit! I love that they have 2 extremely large private fitting rooms with tons of natural light (don't worry, there's a curtain to change behind). I didn't encounter the other bride (or any other guests) both times I went because of the size of the rooms so it truly feels like a private experience for you and your guests. They make an effort to listen and understand your style ahead of time. This was the only place where I walked in, looked at the full rack of dresses they had pre-pulled, and immediately said "I love everything!" They were also super accommodating when I came back a week later with my mom for a second try on and when I wanted to video chat my MOH once I found "the dress". Everyone wears masks and are super careful and respectful of personal space (they even provide masks and sanitizer outside their front door for guests). Both Grace and Tara were so incredibly sweet, knowledgable, and amazing to work with. I should note that they do not provide alterations themselves, but recommend and partner with 2 places in the city. I haven't quite gotten to that stage yet, but I don't imagine that'll be an issue at all. read more

I thought Alice in Ivory might be a little too Bohemian for me, but I ended up loving their gowns! Kylie was fabulous and clearly knew a lot about all of their designers. She even knew about gowns that Alice in Ivory didn't carry or that hadn't come out yet. She was great at listening to what I liked and pulling gowns based on that. When I was actually trying on gowns, Kylie was excellent at clipping them to fit my body perfectly and laying them out so that they looked just right for my mom to see once we went out into the main area. The space itself feels really special, and I felt like a princess on the platform in front of the mirror. Kylie did an amazing job at making me feel special without putting any extra pressure on my decision! read more

Alice in Ivory was the best wedding dress shopping experience I could have ever imagined. This was the first and only store I went to, and I found my dream dress! The store is so beautiful, and I love how private the appointment was. My group and I were able to walk around and pick the gowns I wanted to try on without anyone else in the store, which is great when it is your first time looking. I worked with Rachel, who was absolutely amazing and so much fun to work with. She gave great input and definitely knew what she was doing. She was patient and did not make me feel rushed or pressured to say "yes." I was very anxious walking into the appointment as this was my first time putting on a dress, and feeling overwhelmed that I may be pressured to make a decision--that was not the case at all. As I started trying them on and liked all of them, Rachel was adamant that I did not have to choose that day, and that I could make another appointment with the top dresses that I loved, which made me feel so much more at ease. She made it such a fun experience for myself and my family. If you're in Chicago, I 100% recommend Alice in Ivory. My appointment was a week ago and I am still on cloud 9 from the experience. Loved loved loved this shop!! I went here first and wish I would have stopped dress shopping after - I found my dream dress and nothing else that came after could compare! Their entire selection is so beautiful and unique. There were so many options and my stylist, Grace, helped me narrow down which fit I liked, what details were important, and how I wanted to look. With her help I found my perfect dress! I thought about it at every place afterward and went back in after three more stores to buy it! Atmosphere-wise, Alice in Ivory was the best experience as well. The room was extremely private and very large. Everyone was so accommodating and I didn't feel rushed or that they were trying to cram several appointments in at one time. I just can't say enough about Alice In Ivory and the amazing women who work there. I'll keep this short. Just go, you won't be disappointed. Here's what to love: - They're responsive, easy to work with, and they follow up. On everything! From the first appointment, to the days after the wedding. I loved that the dresses are highly curated, so everything you try on is unique. Truly, a piece of art. - The environment and culture is low pressure. You just show up to your appointment, relax, and you will be well taken care of. No pushy retail people talking in high pitch voices throwing out cheesy lines like, "is this the one!?" - There's a liquor store across the street. Grace was exceptional! I have yet to meet a stylist with her positive attitude. I felt so comfortable working with her. She was very receptive to my personality and feelings towards the dresses. She offered amazing and honest feedback. I have not pulled the trigger on the dress yet, but I am 99% sure I will be purchasing my dress from Alice in Ivory. The dress selection is outstanding. Shopping review: Alice in Ivory is truly a remarkable bridal shop! I had an appointment on my very first day of the search with my mom & sister, and we worked with Alexis. The store itself (new location on Randolph) is gorgeous. Their collection of gowns have a beautiful range between simple & elegant, boho, romantic and modern, without any dresses that look atypical or just like 100 wedding dresses you've already seen before. Upon arrival we were greeted with enthusiasm, offered champagne and chatted with Alexis for a few minutes about my wedding and anything in particular I was looking for in a dress. It was very comfortable and convenient that all the dresses were on display for us to browse, pick up anything we wanted to try on, and Alexis explained that she would pull her own suggestions throughout try- on process based on how it was going with what I liked/ didn't like. The dresses are organized by designer. The process of trying the dresses on was simply perfect. The private room was very unique because it's huge, there is a seating area for guests, and in front of the mirror a large drape that pulls shut while the stylist is helping you into the dress- this made it really fun when I was ready in a new dress and Alexis pulled it open, which made for some really fun "ooo, ahhh" reveals between my mom, sister and I. There is no hassle of walking in or out of a dressing room, which was amazing. (If you really love a dress and need some more room to watch yourself walk around it in with an even larger mirror, they have this right outside of their two private rooms). Time to talk about Alexis: she is AMAZING. Completely engaged in the conversation, SO bubbly, professional and educated about the store's collection. Honestly having her with us during the appointment was half the fun. She listened to us wholeheartedly, made me feel comfortable in the dressing room (even when my butt was really tight in a couple of the dresses and had trouble getting it on), pulled some great suggestions, and at the end of the day, made this shopping experience absolutely perfect. I have her to thank for making it an experience I will always remember! At the end of the day it was the very first dress I tried on during the appointment that could not compare to any of the other dresses, and I knew it was the one. I decided to sleep on it just in case (even though I knew I didn't really have to), Alexis took my measurements and after we left, emailed me with the details of the dress, belt, veil & prices. From there it was very easy as well. Over the weekend Alexis answered my emails in record time (especially on a Saturday when I am sure they were busy with appointments) on a few last questions I had about the size I was ordering. They give you the option to pay in full, or pay 60% at time of order and 40% when the dress is in store and ready for pick up. This is the option I went with, so Alexis sent me a contract to sign & send back to them, as well as an invoice via email that took all of 30 seconds to complete. I am sure I will be able to add more after my dress comes in and I complete the entire process, but for anyone who is looking for a unique bridal shop with a very fair range of prices, gorgeous dresses and amazing people to work with, please stop here! I fell in love with Alice In Ivory 2 years ago when I was helping my sister shop for her dress. I loved the way they make you feel like the only person that matters and they were so friendly and knowledgeable! I knew when it was time for me to shop for my dress I had to get the Alice In Ivory experience, even if I didn't end up finding my dress with them. I worked with Lexi, she was so friendly and really took the time to listen to what I was liking and didn't like. I was very impressed with how informative she was on what could be changed or added through alterations. Not once did I feel pressure to make a decision on the spot for forced to like something I wasn't completely happy with. So after a night sleep I was SUPER excited to realize I was still thinking about the dress I found at Alice In Ivory and was able to go back to them to purchase my dream dress. I had a marathon day of wedding dress shopping with 4 appointments all over the city, and my experience at Alice In Ivory just blew the rest out the the water. I cannot say enough good things! Based on the initial outreach to learn my preferences, I arrived to a full rack of dresses for me to try which kept the process from feeling overwhelming, and every step of the way they asked for my feedback, subbing dresses in and out based on my preferences and fit. Grace was absolutely amazing in offering guidance and bringing so much good energy! Because Grace understood my vision, the dress I ended up choosing was one that I had never seen before arriving, and I am SO grateful for that! I was worried that I'd have a hard time knowing which dress was "the one", but Grace and Lexi made the process so stress-free, so fun, and so thoughtful. The whole experience felt truly catered to me, which is how it should be! There was no uncomfortable pressure to make a decision on the spot, and shortly after I left I had an email with all the details on my top choices. Generally speaking, I found the range of dresses to be totally diverse with lots of designers, styles and options (belts, lace toppers, etc.) The studio is also gorgeous and just makes you feel special from the moment you arrive. Not to mention, this was all during the pandemic and we felt totally comfortable, social-distanced and well taken care of with the precautions in place. The ladies at Alice in Ivory are miracle workers. Despite having to wear a mask, not getting to sip champagne and not getting to have my bridesmaids in attendance I still had an absolutely perfect day. My mom and I visited Alice in Ivory a few weeks ago (right when they re-opened) and worked with Tara, Grace and Lexi - they were a bridal dream team! I felt like an absolute princess the entire time and not the least bit pressured. They "got me" right off the bat and pulled beautiful styles that were exactly what I had in mind - and then a few that were a little bit off from my expected style and man am I glad they did. I ended up buying a dress I would have never pictured myself in and I couldn't feel better about the entire process. I felt like I was the last appointment of the day (6 PM appointment) and the saleswoman was just looking to get out of there and go home. I live in the Bay Area but knew I wanted to find a dress in Chicago so I could shop with my mom and sister. I booked an appointment here on a whim because it is two blocks from my sisters condo, and I'm so glad I did! Grace was my consultant and she was amazing. She showed me a great selection of dresses and also let us shop around the floor to pull dresses ourselves. I ended up loving two dresses that were totally different styles, and Grace encouraged me to sleep on it, noting that if one of these was my dress it would haunt me and I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about it. Sure enough, I had one dress stuck in my head during my entire flight home, so I ended up ordering it as soon as I got back to the Bay. Can't thank Grace enough for helping me find my perfect dress, and huge thanks to the whole Alice in Ivory team for being very communicative while my dress was being shipped during the pandemic. We've decided to postpone our wedding, but my dress arrived on time and getting to see it again in person definitely helped soften the wedding delay blow. My experience at Alice in Ivory was ok. The store is definitely cute and charming, and I had no problem setting up an appointment. It is by appointment only, as they only serve one bride at a time. However, I was the last appointment of the day (6 pm) and I did feel a little rushed. My stylist just seemed somewhat disinterested in the whole process. The dresses are gorgeous, but it seemed like they only carried every dress in a size 10, so there were some I wasn't even able to try on. There were a few dresses I did like and my stylist was supposed to send me a follow up email with the style numbers and prices, but I never received it. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at Alice in Ivory. I originally tried to get in for the Hayley Page trunk show only a few days before and was told that the schedule was full (unsurprisingly). I decided to reach out to them early in the morning on Sunday of the trunk show and was told I could get in because someone else had cancelled. So first off, I appreciate Alice in Ivory working to schedule me. I had a lovely appointment with LeeAnne. She listened to my concerns and did not pressure me at all. I was upfront in saying that I didn't think I would make a decision that day since I need time to think about it and she was very understanding. LeeAnne even took some great videos on my cell phone for me to watch how the dress fit on me and moved. I've been watching the video many times over, and think it was so helpful and considerate of her to think of that. The store itself is beautiful. I went to other bridal stores that felt old and dingy (think carpet and wedding dress posters all over the walls). Personally, it is hard for me to envision even the most beautiful gown if I am in a store that does not reflect this as well. Alice In Ivory has huge windows that allow natural light while trying on the gown and since the boutique is small, it is basically just you and your consultant with the store all for you. read more

AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! Although I did not get the chance to come to the store, I purchased a sample wedding gown from Alice in Ivory. My search was a little unconventional, as I already knew the dress I wanted and emailed multiple stores that carried Leanne Marshall's gowns. To my delight, Alice in Ivory had the gown I was looking for! I communicated with Kaylee, who responded so quickly to my emails, and she provided photos and true descriptions of the dress. Even though the dress was en route to a wedding consignment store, they had the dress shipped back to them so I could purchase it! I had a great experience with Alice in Ivory. While I did not ultimately end up purchasing my dress from this boutique, I found the overall selection, service, and aesthetic here to be absolutely wonderful. First- the dresses they carry are all gorgeous, and the prices are very reasonable. They trend toward the modern-bohemian aesthetic. All are beautiful and made by great designers. This seems to be the only place in Chicago that even carries some of the designers (ex Rime Arodaky). For that reason alone, it's well worth a look. Second- I really appreciated the fact that I was the only person in the shop for my two appointments. From what I can tell, they only ever have one bride's appointment at a time, which makes a huge difference in terms of the attention a shop is able to give you. All dresses were available for me to try on because there was no one else there trying things on at the same time. Third- LeeAnne was my consultant, and she was wonderful. She gave helpful opinions and wasn't pushy at all. If you haven't yet started your dress-shopping journey.. it cannot be overstated how important this is. At many of the shops I went to, the consultants were so aggressively trying to make a sale that: a) I felt like I couldn't trust their advice/opinions, and b) it left a bad taste in my mouth. I had an incredible experience trying on dresses at Alice in Ivory yesterday! Christine was extremely helpful but also laid back and not at all pushy. I was able to take my time and try on all of the dresses I wanted and was able to find the perfect dress and take my time with that decision as well! The store is beautiful and you are able to look through every dress to decide which dresses you want to try on. I'm not sure if it is because of bigger sample sizes or because of the more flowy, bohemian style dresses but I had no problem fitting into the sample sizes at the store which is a big problem at most stores if you are bigger than a normal (non bridal size) 6/8. Amazing! From my first emails setting up two appointments with Kaylee to my time spent in the store with Lindsey (who is THE BEST), I cannot recommend Alice in Ivory highly enough. Kaylee was prompt, sweet, courteous, and accommodating in securing both my initial and follow-up appointments. (And ladies, they book up weeks in advance because they are so awesome, so if you want to get in there I recommend emailing sooner rather than later!) And once I got into the store, I could not have had a better experience. The shop itself is by far the most lovely of any place I went, and Lindsey was hands down the best, kindest, most fun and non-pushy consultant of any I experienced (and I went to 8 different places). Their dresses are out of this world- a highly curated selection, and it is clear that every single dress has been hand-selected for it's uniqueness and exquisite beauty. Lindsey actually suggested trying on a dress that I never would have grabbed myself, and while IT wasn't my dream dress, it led me directly to my dream dress by way of that designer- which I believe I never would have found had she not suggested I try on the first one! I ordered my dress here with my mom this past weekend and we both agreed our experience could not have been better. Lindsey has also gone above and beyond by responding virtually immediately to my various (and probably ridiculous) emails asking questions about the dress, both before and after I ordered it. After I walked in it took the two women working there several minutes to acknowledge me, and only after I asked if either of them worked there. These other reviews are spot on! My experience at Alice in Ivory was by FAR (I mean, VERY far!) my best dress-shopping experience in Chicago. I wish I could rate this as a 10, instead of just 5! Atmosphere: Perfect. Feels a little bit like sitting atop a cloud in heaven. Try-on process: Kaylee could tell what my style was immediately, and was able to pull dress after dress that had the "OMG I love this" factor. She was also able to pull dresses that were different from ones I would have normally chosen but still "on brand", which was even better. It got me out of my comfort zone...in a good way! Service: The best. My veil was delayed in arriving (not the shop's fault, the designer's) and Kaylee went above and beyond to fix the situation. People: It's like you don't want to the wedding process to be over because it means you don't have a good excuse to talk to Kaylee! She is seriously a doll.
