    Burger and green beans

It was a beautiful fall day and the view of Lake Hopatcong was quite good. 5 stars. I rate the service we received as outstanding. 5 stars again. The food was another matter. Serving sizes for all 6 of us were plentiful and I was pleased that fresh green beans could be substituted for fries. I ate my burger and had tastes of others entrees then concluded that the food was nothing special. I rate the quality and preparation of the food as 3 (tops). So, enjoy the view and, based on my experience, expect top quality service. But don't expect gourmet food.

Okay, this review taught me not to judge a book by its cover! I came to Lake Hopatcong on a whim for dinner on a warm night looking to sit outside and without a reservation. No reservation was my first mistake. The restaurants in the area all have a beautiful view / sunset but are often booked. I intended to visit another spot on the water but couldn't get in, and ended up at Alice's instead. We climbed a big staircase to get into the main entrance and it seemed pretty small outside compared to what it looks like outside. Think they have a separate bar / dining room down in the lower area. But I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience here. At first, the hostess told us that there was nothing available but then the other woman up front with her told us to wait a minute. Luckily, she came back and said she could get us a table. Finally, a win! For dinner, we ordered the Arugula Salad special which is we excellent. It has mandarin oranges and walnuts in it which I enjoyed together. I got the Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna for dinner which was good. Though, I didn't love the noodles it came with it was still pretty tasty overall. We finished up sharing the Limoncello cake and dessert martinis. I'd normally go for an espresso martini, but tried the chocolate peanut martini which was like dessert in a glass! Our server was very attentive - service was fast, food was good and prices weren't bad. Plus, you cannot beat the sunset view if you get an outside table! I'll definitely make my way back here again.

Came here as a late Mother's Day treat for my MIL and I was super impressed with the menu. Food: we started with a nice appetizer of hummus (not pictured) which was refreshing and came with artichokes. I ordered a spicy fried chicken sandwich that was moist and perfectly spiced while my wife and MIL got fried fish tacos and sole meunière respectfully which they loved. We got a creamsicle cheesecake bar that we all split for which was not only delicious, but also gluten AND sugar free. Service: really great service provided by Joshua, super nice and accommodating. Aesthetic: we ended up going on a rainy day but I can imagine with a little sun and great weather it would be the perfect spot to look over Lake Hopatcong at.

My family & I went here for my brother's birthday. It was an amazing place to eat with a great menu & value! The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the ambiance was nice summer nautical al fresco vibes!

We stopped in for a couple of apps and a cocktail. We went to the bar downstairs since the upstairs had a private event. The downstairs reminded me of an old basement used as a game room. We were sat in their outdoor area. I found it a bit odd there was no table service once we were seated by staff; we had to retrieve our menus from the bar staff inside , as well as to give them our drink and food orders. Once our drinks were made, we had to get them inside as well; I wanted to grab the drinks for everyone, but we were a party of 5 and there was also a door to the deck that was not easy to open, so I grabbed some extra hands from my party. Once food was prepared, we had a pager that alerted us; we then had to go back to the bar inside to get our food, silverware, and napkins, etc.. Pretty much a self serve scenario which again, was not expected. We had martinis and beer, decent. We also shared Garlic parmesan fries and Totchos. The fries looked delicious, but were very bland, and the tachos were drenched and soggy. I had to give a credit card to hold the tab which made sense. The bartender said it was just to hold the tab and they would not charge anything if we wanted to split the tab, but when we went back in to pay and split the tab, they already charged my card the full amount for all five of us, so again, not very good communication. The location was the best part of this experience. The 2 stars were given because the initial male bartender was very friendly.

This place has a beautiful view of the lake. The parking lot is very small, but there is additional parking below. The menu is mostly sandwiches but there is something on it for everyone. The ranch avocado deviled eggs was really good a must try. The service was decent made sure our glasses were full.

We had a really fun time at Alice's last night! There's a bar downstairs called The Big Fish Lounge where we started off. Cozy bar and Friday night karaoke was a great way to relax with friends and enjoy some laughs. After we went upstairs to the restaurant for dinner. It was a casual menu and the food was good. I went with the bacon cheeseburger sliders which were tasty. All of us enjoyed our meals. On a Friday night in March, the place was pretty quiet. Friends have told us that it gets pretty packed here in the warmer weather. The setting is beautiful, right on the lake. Fun place!

    Outdoor area

Beautiful view Be sure to make reservations for the outside part , although the indoor boots that are right adjoining the outdoor part also have good views we had the Caprese grilled cheese sandwich and the women cost a special both were very good.

Once you enter through the store, there is a sign to wait to be seated. The place has a nice and bright rustic vibe to it. I really liked the decor and table setup. Even the napkins had a rustic vibe. Started off with the potato scoop ($16) which was my fave item. The potato was shaped like the Fritos scoop chip, and the cheese dip that came with it had chunks of cheese in a melted cheese sauce. For my main, got the pulled pork sandwich ($16), which came in a pretzel knot bun and creamy slaw. It was solid meal and very filling. Other mains ordered were the roast beef "pho" style sandwich ($16) which I had a bite of and it was good and not what I expected thinking roast beef. Roast turkey ($16) was warm and also tasty. Each of the mains came with a side of potato salad. I will be back to try the sloppy Joe and their dinner meals. I highly recommend this place if you want tasty, high quality meal for a fair price. * Highly recommend making reservations on weekends * Street parking * Good service

***2 1/2 stars***…read more It's rare that I have a mediocre experience where I actually want to go back to the place to give it another shot. I came here yesterday for a post-Odyssey meal with my top-tier chum from the Kingdom of Sussex around 3:30pm. We found this place by playing one of my favorite games, Yelp Roulette, where you scroll through the nearby activity feed and just pick a place that shows up on there. You can really get burned doing that, or find an interesting spot you wouldn't have otherwise stumbled upon. This one was a little column A, a little column B. The overall space is what Norte 175 really has going for it - it's a really cool building, and they've done some edgy interior decorating. It's super spacious and definitely a place I could see myself coming back for drinks in the future. My chum got a margarita but I'm in training so had to forego - arguably, maybe that was the issue; comparing notes, the drink was probably the best item either of us had, and I didn't get it. And it IS a tequila bar. I did get a diet soda, which had solid carbonation, so there's that at least. Neither of us were insanely hungry (we had a bit of fuel before our three-hour movie screening) so we split three apps - the guac, the chicken quesadilla and the grilled octopus. None of them were particularly noteworthy. Palate preference, but the guac had way too much stuff in it for me; I like a smooth, avocado-forward guac, not obscenely chunky with tons of onions guac. The octopus was not the best - texture is really important with that dish, and this one was way too chewy. The accompanying sauce didn't do enough to negate that for me. And the quesadilla was just okay; a bit bland and could probably use some kind of aioli sauce in it, or perhaps more seasoning overall with the chicken. It was fine and the best of the three, which sadly isn't saying much. We also got the raspberry lemon mousse cake (well, pretty much I did - my chum had literally one bite to be polite). As you can see from the attached, it doesn't look like anything like its stock photo on the menu, which is worth noting - still looks fine but given how different it looks in person, arguably false advertising on some level. If you're thinking about getting it, I'd rely on customer photos versus the menu if the optics are important to you. Tasty but a little too sweet - they doubled down, essentially, on the tartness, which made it a bit overwhelming, but I could easily see a lot of people being into this. The service was just okay. Our waitress did stop by occasionally but just didn't seem to be in a great mood. It honestly felt like a bit of an imposition to ask her for anything. Obviously could have just been having a bad day, but when your primary responsibility is hospitality dot dot dot. She wasn't mean by any stretch but I just wouldn't categorize her as pleasant. Is what it is. This place could really benefit from its location, literally five minutes from the Rockaway Mall - and this isn't an area with an enormous amount of options beyond the chains, so they have a legit opportunity to cash in if they can improve the food options. We'll see what happens in the future with round two.
