    Fajitas Monterrey Dinner
    Cara S.

This is hands down my favorite Mexican food in the area and will be the only place I return to from now on. We ordered the Fajitas Monterrey Dinner, the Mango Habanero Chicken Wings, and the Beef Burrito. The Fajitas Monterrey Dinner was easily my favorite. The steak was so tender and charred perfectly. The fajita was mixed with onions, pepper, cheese, and PINEAPPLE. The pineapple made this absolutely special and delicious. The meal also came with a free side of chips, rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. The ground beef burrito was similarly delicious and they added peppers and onions to it free of charge. The man taking my order was super accommodating with this, which I appreciated. The burrito similarly came with chips, guac, salsa, sour cream, beans and rice, so It was impossible not to be stuffed afterwards. The chicken wings were crispy and delicious (we asked for the sauce on the side), and the sauce was really unique. I can't speak much to the ambiance of this place because I have never dined in, but after this amazing initial experience, we will definitely be back.

This building has seen a few failed/turned over restaurant attempts over the past few years, since the long-standing High Noon pub that had been there closed some time back. The latest is La Mezcalita, and we immediately started hearing some very strong reviews from locals, and the consistency of these reviews simply forced us out to try it for ourselves. I was warned that if you don't get there early enough on a weekend evening, you're likely to not find parking. For my wife's birthday, we chose a 6pm arrival on a Friday night so we didn't have to take too many chances. We brought the kids out, so they all arrived in separate cars and two of them had to park in the adjacent strip mall even at that early hour. I immediately started fearing what the wait for a table may look like, but was so pleased when we were immediately seated. I had heard that it was a fairly loud environment, and they were certainly correct. We sat halfway between the front door and rear bar area, and the sound just rumbles all around as it comes down from the ceiling. If you're looking for a quiet dinner to catch up with an old friend, this place on a Friday or Saturday evening are simply not for you. Since we had the full family and were celebrating the matriarch birthday, it was just fine. We opted to have the guacamole that is made tableside, and it was a nice show and fantastic and tasty choice. It wasn't really enough to satisfy a table of five, but everyone got a bit of it. I always get steak fajitas, which is a consistency thing so I can rate properly across different restaurants. Good proportions, served sizzling, quite tasty. My son got some chicken dish, photo attached, my daughter got avocado tacos, she enjoyed them. My wife got a chimi that she wasn't a fan of, but she's a known picky eater. Service was good, and they seem to use a "shared server" concept in that one will bring drinks, and another will pull empty plates when walking by so as to not go back to kitchen area empty handed. I liked that, most efficient and stuff didn't accumulate on the table too badly. I would try again, but perhaps during the week for parking ease and a bit quieter of a meal. They do bring out a sombrero for the birthday celebration and photo ops, singing along. Fun time, give it a try.

Good new restaurant in Budd Lake. Very nice atmosphere & large tables. The bar is too difficult to sit at because there is no place for your legs so you have to sit far away from the counter. Enjoyed the complimentary chips & salsa. We liked our food very much - Enchiladas Suiza & beef taco's. Service was a big problem - waitress did not speak english or understand english. Bartender had to come over to understand what i was trying to order (Tito's straight up). Waitress forgot my water, did not understand my husband's drink order (tequila on the rocks & a glass of seltzer). She had a lot of trouble understanding that my husband wanted to add onions & cilantro to his tacos. Other servers seemed competent - ours wasn't. I would go back but I hope I don't get that same waitress again!

Tostones kabob, they serve you five. So flavorful.

Food, service and ambience all top notch. After moving to the area from Queens NY and trying multiple Mexican restaurants in the area I finally found my new spot. Came here on a Thursday night, enjoyed warm corn tortillas & salas, drinks and the most amazing appz. I had to take my entrée to go. It's a must try. Everything was so flavorful, large portions, and good music. I've been searching for good Mexican food for a year. I'm so happy. The staff is very attentive and friendly.

Came here for the first time on a Saturday evening and the place was packed. It's very unassuming from the outside but the inside is huge. Our wait was about 20 minutes which wasn't bad considering how busy it was. The outside is totally reminiscent of a Mexican tavern you'd find in Tijuana. The inside was impressive and the ambiance was excellent. An incredible amount of detail went into everything down to the chairs. The music was on the louder side, but contributed to the festive atmosphere. The bar was packed but the bartending staff was on top of everything. Drinks were large and wonderfully on the stronger side. The house margaritas were really good. The menu selection was extensive - almost too much to choose from. The guacamole is made in front of you and was fresh and spot on. We had a party of four and the food was above average to excellent except for the wings. The sauce was great but they were quite dry. Maybe it was a fluke. Service was great and there was enough staff to manage the crowd. Our server was friendly and fun. My only complaint was the wait for the entrees. Some of the entrees off the menu require additional time to prep and cook. It was somewhat frustrating seeing people around you eating before you, even though they were seated after you. If you stick with the basics off the menu you probably won't run into any issues. Besides that, can't wait to come back again.

Awesome restaurant! The staff is very friendly and making sure everything is going smoothly, the food was delicious and came out in decent time for a busy day. Right across from the lake with good views, my family's new favorite restaurant! The churros for dessert are a must try!

The food is consistently good, the service is attentive, and the overall atmosphere during the day is relaxed and enjoyable. It's a great place to unwind, grab good food and drinks and enjoy being on the lake! Weekend nights can be a different story. The live bands tend to be loud and a bit over the top, which can overwhelm what would otherwise be a really pleasant setting. A cool, laid-back DJ with better volume control would elevate the experience and make it a place you'd want to linger longer. All in, it's still the go-to on the lake -- just pick your timing wisely.

I decided to try the seafood risotto which was decent but a couple of the scallops were a little over cooked and the risotto itself was kind of sticky. My husband got the steak sandwich which he was surprised was a whole piece of steak (opposed to being sliced) but he said the steak was very tender and he had no issues eating it! I also stole a few of his sweet potatoes fries which were very good.

Originally, we planned to stop at a coffee shop to relax and wait for the traffic to ease. However, when we drove past this restaurant, we decided to check it out instead. The gentleman who seated us was super friendly. Our server, Theressa J., was equally warm, and professional. We weren't hungry at all. My husband ordered the Crispy Fritto Misto as an appetizer. I couldn't resist ordering the three-course meal, which included tuna and salmon poke to start, followed by lobster tail gnocchi and bread pudding for dessert.
