I had paid for a deep clean but even from a general cleaning perspective it was a mess- especially the floor. Mind you I live in a fairly small 600 something square foot apartment. It was unfortunate, I wanted to be able to have peace of mind and have one thing off my plate but I still had to sweep and mop again and it was also emotional labor to have to keep calling and providing evidence. They did try to make it right by wanting to send cleaners later that day but the timing didn't work out with work and guests coming the next day. They ended up reimbursing $50 but it did feel like the amount of work I had to do was worth more than that. Oh they were also half an hour late ;(

Now for the appointment...the crew arrived nearly 2 hours after my scheduled appointment, which was really frustrating. Apparently Stella booked the crew for a house in Lake O and asked if I could wait a couple of hours until they finished. "Uh...no! I have an appointment." When the crew arrived, the lead cleaner made a big stink to Stella (by phone) about all of the work that needed to get done in the time allotted. I wanted them to focus on the 3 bathrooms and kitchen, and I was prepared to do the rest myself. I took a "do what you can do in 1 1/2 to 2 hours" approach since I was trying to save money, and I cleaned along side them to get the rest done. They did a good job with cleaning the areas that I designated. I noticed that the stubborn area above the stove was not cleaned, and the lead cleaner proclaimed that they tried, but it couldn't be cleaned. So I took a scrubber pad, used some elbow grease and the stains started to disappear. So she tried again and removed most of the muck. In all, I think Superior may be a good company, but the staff do have some communication issues. (I do understand a little bit of Spanish, so I had sense of what they were complaining about to Stella and amongst themselves.) The crew was nice to me. They gave me a ride up the road so that I wouldn't have to walk a mile to the bus stop. I just think they were annoyed with the scheduling mix up and hadn't been told ahead of time what I needed them to get done in the slotted time. I am used to cleaners working at a faster pace than they worked, so maybe I set my expectations too high.

Everything the man. Leaned was amazing, the woman did not do a very good job, they ended up sending the man back to redo what she had done. We were very happy with him, he went above and beyond. We liked him so much that we didn't make an issue of him damaging our laminate flooring using soaking wet mop. Apparently he left the company and they didn't notify us. They sent out some guy we didn't know while my wife was home alone. She wouldn't let him in. When my wife called Emily, she sent her to VM. She sent a text back. She said that she had tried to contact us but didn't hear back. The only contact we got was an email that she wanted to change days. She asked for a reply if the change was okay with us. It was not so we did not reply. Also, during the time we had service from Em-Maculate Cleaning Service the price changed from hourly to fixed and the price increased without notification. When my wife tried to work things out with Emily directly she said we were too difficult as customers and she was dropping us. Who knew that asking for clear communication was "demanding".

I was purchasing from my parents, who were present for the cleaning while I was out of state. I was originally quoted over email that the cost would be $580. It ended up being $1,200, and there was 0 communication with me that the quoted price would change. I found out when I got the invoice. I was charged for a 8 hour session with 2 people working. However, my mom told me that for the first 4 hours, only 1 cleaner was working. Also, the cleaner was an 1 hour late. Mind you, they did not inform me of either of these things. So, if my mom were not there, I would not have known. When I confronted them, they said one of their cleaners had a medical emergency. (Again, I would've been totally fine with only 1 cleaner at first if they had told me about it AND had adjusted the price accordingly instead of charging me for 2 cleaners when there was only 1). I guess, they may have assumed I didn't know the owners of the house, so they could get away with overcharging me without me knowing. So, I got the invoice for $1,200. I asked her why it was this price, since at most it should've been $760 ($95/hour for 8 hours). She said since they only had 1 person the first 4 hours, they ended up having 3 the second 4 hours to make up the time. So, it ended up being more. Also, they said they were there 10 hours but "gave me a discount" since they were late and there were mix ups. I told them I was very upset and frustrated, because had I known they were going to charge me double, I would've asked they stop the cleaning and done the rest myself. I did not expect to be blindsided with a cost double the price. They stopped replying to me on email and we continued over the phone, where they inevitably did not budge and charged me the same price for the labor since they ended up having more people. I accepted the charge, but wanted to write this review to share my experience. It's actually 2 years after the fact and I wanted to keep it to myself. As a small business owner myself, I know how damaging bad reviews can be. So, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I just got an email asking to be connected as a business partner or something and it convinced me I really needed to write this. I'd encourage you to look for other options unless you're rich enough to be able to blindly pay nearly double what you're quoted with no notice.
