We just had a short trip outerisland, but couldn't bring our fir babies. Usually the parents or a friend can watch out pups, but not this time around. We called around and found it very challenging, almost like sending a toddler to daycare for the first time, they need vet records and a company to vouch that your pup isn't crazy and dangerous to others. We called these folks and they were very friendly and made it as easier to request vet records and willing to do trial run overnight to see how our dogs would do. We drove down and it's a little confusing to find, but basically aim for Salz Lock and Safe, pull into their parking and continue to the chain link fence and you'll see it mountain side. We met the couple that takes care of the fur babies. They were very welcoming and most importantly our dogs sixth sense accepted them right away. Their tails kept wagging, which made us feel better. Our dogs actually shake when we go to the vet and tail down, between the legs. We provided food for the morning, leashes and harness and that's it. They recommended not bring the beds because other dogs might mark them, since it's not a kennel environment. They can walk freely in the rooms and act like they do at home. We left them overnight and we're ready for a phone call, but no complaints came. Then in the morning we went to pick them up. On arrival the couple were still their smiling with our pups. Our dogs seemed happy with their tails wagging. They reported back to us how the dogs did and everything went well. I would recommend Barks and Purrs, because they genuinely seem to care for our dogs. Our dogs were happy and we felt safe to have them watched there.

Can't ask for a better location, just drop off your baby, and you can access the highway nearby heading either east or west. Richard is fantastic, very knowledgeable and he has such a way with animals. My little pupster gets super excited when we get there and now when I say "doggie daycare" he starts running around in circles and heads to the car, ready to go. He always looks forward to going to visit Richard and his furry friends. He comes home absolutely wore out. He wolfs down his dinner and then sprawls out on the floor to sleep. Richard is flexible with scheduling and very responsive and communicative. They also offer bathing services on site which you can avail yourself to while your fur baby stays in their care. I send my pup 2 days a week so that he gets much needed socialization and I get peace of mind knowing he's in capable hands.

Our 10 year old pupper, Bailey has never been boarded so you can imagine how difficult this was for me. I've looked at many other boarding places, rover, etc. and always came back to Farmhouse Dog Boarding. Mac and her family, made this experience such a great one and kept my mind at ease. The site is BEAUTIFULLLL and they have a giant yard for your pet to roam and run free! I'm so happy Bailey enjoyed herself and am so grateful for Mac and her family for taking care of her for one week. We will definitely be referring Farmhouse Dog Boarding to our friends and family and will definitely keep you in mind for future boarding! :)

I feel so blessed that I found paw patch and my dogs can go to stay there while i go off island on vacation. Before committing to Paw Patch, there was an initial a meet and greet and screening for both of my dogs. I appreciate getting updates and beautiful photos of my dogs daily. They looked like they were having a great experience. I was able to bring my older dog her blanket from home and she slept on it. Sara did not require them to be in a kennel overnight. I was able to enjoy my time away knowing I did not have to worry about my fur babies. Since my initial experience, I plan to bring them there whenever I need it and my life with my dogs is that much more enjoyable knowing that if I do need to leave them they are well cared for. Thay been there multiple times and a wonderful experience every time!

We recently left our 15 year old senior dog with Sara, and we honestly could not be happier with…read morethe experience. Our dog is very skittish, nearly completely deaf, and usually prefers to keep to herself. She does not play much and is slow to warm up to new people or environments. Sara welcomed her in with patience and care, and within just a couple of days we were shocked in the best way. Sara was sending us photos of our dog playing with other dogs, running around, interacting with people, and genuinely having fun. This is completely out of character for her. We really appreciated the daily updates and photos, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. On top of that, Sara went above and beyond by giving our dog her own Christmas stocking filled with treats and toys. That extra thought meant a lot to us. When we picked her up, our dog was kissing Sara nonstop, which she almost never does. My wife even noticed that she whimpered when it was time to leave, like she did not want to go. Seeing that kind of bond and change in our dog was incredible. Sara truly brought out the best in our senior dog. We will absolutely be using her services again, and honestly, we think our dog had a better vacation than we did. Highly recommend Sara. She is amazing!

Dogs just want to have fun…read more My bichon really enjoys this place. When I pull up to the driveway he can't wait to get inside. That's because he has other dogs to play with. And it's really assuring know they separate the big dogs from the small ones. Because my bichon would be attacking all the huskies in larger dogs. :) The staff post pics online sometimes throughout the stay. Overall five stars. He enjoys it there and I enjoy picking him up. The location (Pets in the City) was different than what we were used to, but the quality of his work was excellent. He was also a bit more expensive, but the quality absolutely justified the price. We later found out that Manny had not retired, and since he knows Izzy so well, we'll be going back to him. That said, Giovanni was wonderful, and we really appreciated the care and attention he gave Izzy.

I've been bringing my dog here for the past month and also boarded him for a few days. He has a lot…read moreof energy -- even with three walks a day and hours of running at the park, he usually still wants to play when he gets home. Daycare here has made a huge difference. It really helps burn off his energy, and he's much less nippy when he comes home. After a full day, he's happily tired and just wants to sleep. Definitely recommend them!
