We were looking for a reputable place who would care for our pet as if she was home. Someplace she would feel safe since we know she has anxiety issues and is really shy around strangers and may be aggressive if provoked. We tried leaving her with family, but because of her temperament, they suggested a boarding care. She is great with their dog, but they too were looking for boarding for their pet. And because they go to a pet daycare weekly, they were sending their pet to their favorite pet daycare. So while I was searching a came across Happy Puppy Kingdom. The website and instagram pages showed doggies having fun and their prices were reasonable and their care packages were affordable. We made contact through Yelp and on to our introductory appointment. We also were able to provide Kamalani's vaccine records. As certain vaccines must be given in order to book the appointment's "meet and greet". The Owner, Sophia, was so caring, gentle, and loving towards Kama. She talked to her and built a trust for us and Kama. So we started to take Kama for weekly visits starting in January 2026. We knew Kama was going to be reluctant to go because she hasn't been around other dogs a lot and only family & family pets, and knew getting her used to HPK may take a while. As the months went by she started to know which days she got to go visit "her friends". We literally asked the day before if she wanted to "see your friends!"" And she would get so excited. Jumping up, wagging her tail, looking around for Miss Sophia. And when I'd drop her off she can't wait to get out of the car. In April we did the first overnight, and it was hard, for us. Constantly looking at the clock, expecting her to greet us at the door, and her hugs and kisses...nothing!! But she did great!! HPK said she didn't eat the food we provided, so they gave her their homemade food & she really enjoyed it. So when the days came for us to leave we knew Kama was in great care with HPK. We got pictures and videos of Kama when we were away. And it turned out, our in-laws also sent their 7yo hybrid poodle, Mochi, there too. And they said Kama protected her when she was scared. When we came to pick them up they were so happy to see us!! We know Happy Puppy Kingdom took such great care of our fur-babies and that this is a loving and caring place to leave them if we ever plan another trip. Sophia reassured us and gained our trust & Kama loves her too!!!

We just had a short trip outerisland, but couldn't bring our fir babies. Usually the parents or a friend can watch out pups, but not this time around. We called around and found it very challenging, almost like sending a toddler to daycare for the first time, they need vet records and a company to vouch that your pup isn't crazy and dangerous to others. We called these folks and they were very friendly and made it as easier to request vet records and willing to do trial run overnight to see how our dogs would do. We drove down and it's a little confusing to find, but basically aim for Salz Lock and Safe, pull into their parking and continue to the chain link fence and you'll see it mountain side. We met the couple that takes care of the fur babies. They were very welcoming and most importantly our dogs sixth sense accepted them right away. Their tails kept wagging, which made us feel better. Our dogs actually shake when we go to the vet and tail down, between the legs. We provided food for the morning, leashes and harness and that's it. They recommended not bring the beds because other dogs might mark them, since it's not a kennel environment. They can walk freely in the rooms and act like they do at home. We left them overnight and we're ready for a phone call, but no complaints came. Then in the morning we went to pick them up. On arrival the couple were still their smiling with our pups. Our dogs seemed happy with their tails wagging. They reported back to us how the dogs did and everything went well. I would recommend Barks and Purrs, because they genuinely seem to care for our dogs. Our dogs were happy and we felt safe to have them watched there.

Can't ask for a better location, just drop off your baby, and you can access the highway nearby heading either east or west. Richard is fantastic, very knowledgeable and he has such a way with animals. My little pupster gets super excited when we get there and now when I say "doggie daycare" he starts running around in circles and heads to the car, ready to go. He always looks forward to going to visit Richard and his furry friends. He comes home absolutely wore out. He wolfs down his dinner and then sprawls out on the floor to sleep. Richard is flexible with scheduling and very responsive and communicative. They also offer bathing services on site which you can avail yourself to while your fur baby stays in their care. I send my pup 2 days a week so that he gets much needed socialization and I get peace of mind knowing he's in capable hands.

The site is BEAUTIFULLLL and they have a giant yard for your pet to roam and run free! I feel so blessed that I found paw patch and my dogs can go to stay there while i go off island on vacation. Before committing to Paw Patch, there was an initial a meet and greet and screening for both of my dogs. I appreciate getting updates and beautiful photos of my dogs daily. They looked like they were having a great experience. I was able to bring my older dog her blanket from home and she slept on it. Sara did not require them to be in a kennel overnight. I was able to enjoy my time away knowing I did not have to worry about my fur babies. Since my initial experience, I plan to bring them there whenever I need it and my life with my dogs is that much more enjoyable knowing that if I do need to leave them they are well cared for. Thay been there multiple times and a wonderful experience every time!

We recently left our 15 year old senior dog with Sara, and we honestly could not be happier with…read morethe experience. Our dog is very skittish, nearly completely deaf, and usually prefers to keep to herself. She does not play much and is slow to warm up to new people or environments. Sara welcomed her in with patience and care, and within just a couple of days we were shocked in the best way. Sara was sending us photos of our dog playing with other dogs, running around, interacting with people, and genuinely having fun. This is completely out of character for her. We really appreciated the daily updates and photos, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. On top of that, Sara went above and beyond by giving our dog her own Christmas stocking filled with treats and toys. That extra thought meant a lot to us. When we picked her up, our dog was kissing Sara nonstop, which she almost never does. My wife even noticed that she whimpered when it was time to leave, like she did not want to go. Seeing that kind of bond and change in our dog was incredible. Sara truly brought out the best in our senior dog. We will absolutely be using her services again, and honestly, we think our dog had a better vacation than we did. Highly recommend Sara. She is amazing!

The Vet, Dr Pang, had poor bedside manner. Came in already dismissive of my complaints for my dog. She wasn't prepared when she came in the room. As if she didn't know why I was there. Said she couldn't examine my dogs nostrils because my dog is excited and keeps moving. Said we needed to sedate my dog. Didn't have any light or anything to look at my dogs nose. Some questions/comments she made that were annoying: "Are you sure she's five months old, she seems older cause she's big" "How did you look in your dogs nose?" "She's not sneezing now" "She seems to be breathing normal" (her first time meeting my dog, doesn't know my dog is not a mouth breather) "Did you hear reverse sneezing" (as if i know what that is) I had to get on the floor to help hold my dog so she would look at both nostrils or try to with a light. Also theres an exam table not sure why we're on the floor. She offered very little info into what she thought was going on with my dog. Only discussed further when i kept asking questions. She prescribed a steroid taper but on the bottle the instructions were incorrect did not indicate a taper. Did not appreciate her bedside manner and lack of trying to look at my dog for the issue i brought her in for. Then as i was leaving i got blocked in to the small parking lot by an employee that parked her truck with the bed blocking the way out. That employee came out and saw me unable to leave but waited till i asked her to move the truck to move it. Gets two stars because of the front staff.

The location (Pets in the City) was different than what we were used to, but the quality of his work was excellent. He was also a bit more expensive, but the quality absolutely justified the price. We later found out that Manny had not retired, and since he knows Izzy so well, we'll be going back to him. That said, Giovanni was wonderful, and we really appreciated the care and attention he gave Izzy.
