Blue, our 12 year old, 75-lb. Chocolate Lab girl, had seen Dr. Osgood since 2/2015. For over 9 years, he had given Blue the best of veterinary care, delivered with skill, kindness, warmth and humor. Two days ago, Blue died from a particularly virulent and deadly dog cancer, Hemangiosarcoma, that affects some aging big breed dogs. This was an unscheduled visit following our urgent, last minute plea that it was time for Blue to be euthanized. However, she died unexpectedly while he and his assistant Nora were on their way. Dr. Osgood handled Blue gently, wrapped her in a soft shroud and took her on her last car ride. Her ashes will be returned to us. In our time of emergency, great need, overwhelming sadness and grief, Dr. Osgood reliably arrived when he said he would, helped and supported Blue with grace and professionalism we will never forget. We trust Dr. Osgood completely. read more

We absolutely love Dr. Osgood and his assistant Nora. Our two Australian labradoodles have been his patient ever since they were puppies. Our pups are now 4 years old. And Dr. Osgood has done such a terrific job keeping our doodles happy and healthy. Dr. Osgood responds to our texts promptly when our pups have issues. He is very caring and truly loves our dogs. He is wonderful and a very dedicated veterinarian. Having your pups get vaccinated and have their annual physical in the comfort of your own home is really a blessing. They is no waiting at the Vet's office, no potential risks of confronting aggressive dogs, and no potential exposure to sick dogs who may carry some contagious diseases. And best of all, you don't have to deal with some of the rude and unfriendly staff at the Vet's office. Dr. Osgood's assistant Nora is so pleasant and helpful. Usually use local office vets for health certificates going to mainland but this year, we tried Island Mobile Vet and used them twice for our avid furry companion travelers. Dr Scott is punctual, friendly and quick. His fee for health certificates were more reasonable that local brick and mortar offices and so convenient having him come out to us. Dr Scott and Nora are professional, kind, compassionate and just plain old good company :) We recently had them come over to perform an at-home euthanasia for our cancer-ridden, blind, super-senior cat, Tiger. Being with them was like being with old friends even though we had only just me them. Tiger passed very peacefully and although I am welling up while writing this, his crossing the rainbow bridge was almost a beautiful experience because his pain was now gone. I needed my mother's dog to see a vet due to a chronic reverse sneeze she was having and called her regular vet, King Street Vet Hospital, and was told how busy they were and that all the vets were booked up for the week and whatever else she was wasting my time telling me. Um, I am asking for an appointment for a specific problem so maybe focus on trying to fit me in instead of complaining about how busy you all are! I was so disgusted (you can see my review of them) that I told them to forget it. I did some research to see if I could find a mobile vet and, voila!, I found Island Mobile Vet. Dr. Osgood is awesome. He listened to everything I had to say about my mother's dog, did not dismiss my suspicions and things that I did to try to help her, and came prepared with a treatment plan suspecting what the problem may be. What a refreshing experience it was with a vet who cares about the animals and their owners instead of the bottom line. The cost of the visit was synonymous to what I would have paid for a visit with her regular vet who, I am sure, would have ordered more unnecessary tests for additional revenue. I'm so impressed with the staff at Island Mobile Vet! I lived in Las Vegas and my kitty had to be quarantined on Oahu although I moved to a neighbor island. I found Dr. Scott (Osgood) on google. They were so kind and understanding with all of my questions, went out promptly to the quarantine station and drew kitty's blood to prove he's rabies free so that I can rescue him from "kitty jail" as I call it! Super friendly and knowledgeable, this is my first time to have a 7 weeks border collie boy, and he also happened to be a runt, so he is very tiny, I was soo worry to have him before he reaches his 12 week, and Dr. Osgood taught me a lot of things that I should be aware of for my little sheepdog, like I should keep him away from ivermectin (HeartGard) that could be toxic for sheepdogs. I also have a lot of concern about having a runt, and Dr. Osgood answered all my questions, and instead the old school way of writing down the details of diagnosis like other doctors would do and nobody could possibly read it, Dr. Osgood sends out email and invoice that has all the details nice and clear and it's easier to keep it in record. These guys are the best. Hands down. My dog was stuck in quarantine and they made it a priority to get her FAVN test done ASAP so she was able to get released over a week early. They came to our home to get her booster shots done and made her feel so comfortable that she never even noticed she was getting shots. Dr. Scott Osgood is an excellent, professional and compassionate vet who came to put our dog to sleep. Our dog was nearly 17 yrs and never liked any vet or grooming office, so to have Dr. Osgood come to house was the best thing ever. We were able to spend time with Sachi and she was so calm and went peacefully without any fear whatsoever. Our dear dog got seriously ill at home over the weekend. I contacted Dr. Osgood by email and voicemail late Sunday afternoon. He got back to us early Monday morning and came soon after to put her out of her pain and misery. Dr. Osgood is a wonderful veterinarian and has a gentle, caring, and calm presence -- he helped us when it was time for our aging feline family member to cross the "Rainbow Bridge." He came to our house, talked story with us and met our fur baby -- didn't rush, explained everything to us and also did a brief exam on her and confirmed our feelings that it was more humane to let her go than to keep her with us while she was suffering. His fees were reasonable and worth every penny! Being able to give our cat a calm and very low key experience (verses taking her into the vet hospital where she would have gotten tense and worked up) was such a blessing. You guys. Dr. Scott is a doctor who makes housecalls. Just wow. My mind was blown when my friends recommended him, and then blown again when he came to my house and took care of my new puppy! I have never experienced any service like this before, and having Dr. Scott come into my home and provide a service that usually has my dog shivering and slobbering and whining and pulling and crying and carrying on was amazing. Dr. Osgood walked in and I knew we found our Vet. Love him to bits. Also worth noting for other families who may be in similar circumstances. I have 2 kids one of which is special needs so it's very difficult to wrangle her and 2 kittens while respecting the Doc's time and equipment.
