I have been going to Alina for electrolysis for a few months now. I have PCOS and unfortunately electrolysis is the only proven permanent hair removal. Laser never worked for me and my unwanted facial hair had reached its maximum. The office: Alina's office is very clean and welcoming. Alina and Cindy: Alina is a lovely woman and gives clear instructions on using topical anesthetic beforehand to reduce discomfort. She is up front with you about how long your treatment plan will be to give you the best results possible. The experience never awkward like at the hair salon or nail salon. It's a very pleasant experience. Cindy is lovely and will always call the day before as a reminder which is great for someone forgetful like myself. Prices: her prices for electrolysis are competitive. At the front desk is a price sheet showing price per minute for every minute from 15 up to over an hour. Results: After going once per week for about 6-7 weeks I am so happy to see results, even if they are not typical. Alina is honest and up front with everyone about her laser effectiveness. I went in for a consultation with my mother and she told us that our nationality (Middle Eastern) and skin & hair type did not make us a good fit for her laser, as she's seen the hair growth get worse with skin like ours. What kind of place would turn away you and your cash?? I was impressed. She did agree to do one area on my mother which my mom really wanted. After several treatments, my mom says she sees a huge difference. Laser doesn't work on white hairs, just black, so Mom still has those, but all the thick black hairs that used to bother her so much are gone! I am in love with this place. Such a long drive for me (from the medical center) but definitly worth it. I just want to say... I have been to 7 session of 12 and the results are astounding! I have nothing next really but since I still have sessions left on my voucher--im maximizing it. Comparing Alina to the other laser place i've been to (Intrgue--which seems to be under fire), i must say how much MORE professional and talented Alina is. She keeps a file on each patient and writes notes on your progress. She mentions that at each session, she up's the laser beam so I would get maximum results each time. If i felt that a spot was missed, she would be sure to get it. I must say, the 15 minute torcher is well worth the results. I will be on a cruise this summer and love the fact i have no worries about shaving stubbles or even waxing. Personal note: it has resolved any ingrown hairs i had obtained from months of waxing. I bought a voucher for laser treatments and were hesitant to go, since other places I have been to have not shown any results. Although it was a little far and 1960 is so hectic, it was well worth the travel, and since it was such a good deal I could not resist! I went ahead and bought it and came to give it a try. After the first laser treatments I saw results. The growth was slower, and the hair was thinner, the more I went the better my progress. Alina really knows what she's doing, and I'm really satisfied with my results. When I go, I feel like she really takes care of me, and ensures me of all worries of recurring unwanted hair growth. Thanks to good Yelp reviews I went to this spa and I have to confirm that Alina is amazing! I have been to three different electrologists and she is by far the best. I'm originally from Texas, but I currently live in New York and I travel all the way to Houston because it is worth it. I know it's hard to believe that there isn't anyone else as good in New York, but it's true. Not only is her office clean and comfortable, she and her staff are friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. Horrible place !!!! My friend recommend this place and I wasn't pleased at all !!! I was getting a laser hair removal treatment. Every time I would come in she would charge me 30 dollars to apply the numming creme. I've heard that other places have you buy the whole bottle at the drug store for only 50 Dollars that you could keep using every time. Also Alina and her daughter are very unprofessional and have a horrible attitude. every time I go in there always has to be a mistake with how much I owe and I always end up correcting them for their mistake. they are very unorganized. I had a terrible experience with this clinic. I didn't even get to the point where I could go into the office. I called and spoke with the receptionist and told her that I needed electrolysis hair removal over several different areas of my body and was told that it was "too much" and it would "take too long", and that it was "too much work " for them. The receptionist was extremely rude, and was asking odd questions like, "where are you from"? It was inappropriate, I am not sure why my origin is actually a concern of theirs. After I told her that I didn't have much hair to remove and it was not extensive, she began to back up and choke on her words. This would have been profitable for them, I don't understand how a company like this can actually stay in business when they turn people away because it is too much work.
