Hit this place up based on the reviews and my craving for good pastries. Surprised to see the full pastries case after 4pm on a Saturday. These guys must do good business all day to keep the case stocked like that. All good signs! We took home a cannoli, caramel eclair, Italian tiramisu, and Russian napoleon. All were good with the caramel eclair on top as my fav. Great flavor, nice portion sizes. Light creams, not at all heavy or weighted down like so many other bakeries like to do. I'm in between 3 & 4 stars right now and basing this review off the dessert experience: I know this European bakery is the first of it's kind in the tri-cities yet I am a little perplexed at what I was served this weekend; I ordered two macaron and a chocolate eclair -the items were served on Styrofoam plates ...are we kidding right now? if anyone is trying to show off their product -a styrofoam plate isn't the way to show you care. styrofoam plates are reserved for BBQ's hosted at your church pot luck and meant to be vessels for deviled eggs, macaroni salad, and charred burgers, not delicate macarons. Dessert breakdown:] the filling on the macaron was overwhelming with cream cheese. although big in size compared to a typical macaron, very unsatisfying, and very strong on the creamed cheese flavor.. no bueno. the chocolate eclair was delicious, the filling fluffy and just the right about of chocolate drizzle within the eclair. My goodness, I wish I lived in Tri-Cities, this place is fantastic! My sister and I were travelng through and happened upon it. It's easy to find, right off the freeway. We had a potato piroshki that was sheer perfection, capped off by an incredible napoleon pastry with fresh strawberries. This place is worth driving to the middle of nowhere for! We spoke with Igor, Aliona's husband, who was manning the shop that day, a really nice guy. He and his wife are from the old country, Moldavia, and you can taste it in their pastries. I can't yet decide if it is a good or bad thing that this place opened so close to my house. My scale and waistline will let you know in a few weeks. Stoped in on a recommendation from a friend and after seeing a picture of their macaroons on Facebook. Pleasantly decorated, beautiful display case and super friendly staff. The gentleman who helped me took his time, explained different foods to me and was warm and helpful, really looking forward to several trips back. The food was AWESOME!! Have friends visiting so I bought a variety of sweets to try. The coconut chocolate pecan balls were amazing!! I'd come back for those alone, but everything else was so darn good. The macaroons were just as good as I hoped and the cream horns were a hit with my guests and my kids. What I loved was all the flavors and textures in the treats. Nothing was overpowering or ridiculously sweet and tasted completely homemade. Looking forward to trying more treats in the future as well as some of their soups, maldovas and piroshkies!!
