Update 5/16/24 Wow!!!! I am super impressed by the quality of work by Ali. First of all, my jeans were ready by Wednesday even though he said he would have it by Saturday. He got it done well over the time estimate he gave me. Amazing. Secondly, the fit is perfect. I mean look at the comparison here of the before and after. It's literally night and day. From 4 sizes too big and literally falling to my ankles to perfectly fitting and sitting perfectly. Lastly there overall quality of work is just well done. I highly recommend them - I went to Alitailors to get my wedding dress hemmed and take in. They did an excellent job at a fair price! My dress now fits like a glove. Ali and Naheeda have excellent craftsmanship and are skilled professionals. On top of that, wedding tailoring is super stressful and they both brought kindness, honest, and calm energy to the process. I had a great experience at Alitailors! I brought in my two wedding dresses to get a quote for my September 2026 wedding. I have been to other seamstresses/tailors to get quotes and Ali really stood out to me. At other places, I felt judged and pressured whereas with Ali he was attentive and answered my questions with patience and not once did I feel judged for the things I wanted done to my dresses. I loved that he suggested alternatives and showed me what a potential alteration would look like in the mirror. Dear yelp journal, Ali and his team were amazing. I had been turned away when asking for hemming on a pair of designer pants that had a zipper that ran the length of the calf by two different tailors. It was a questionable feat so they asked to hold the pants until Ali could examine them and would update me the next day. Not only did the team accept the job, they kept the designer manufactured zipper intact and completed the job within 24 hours even though there was no rush. Brought a pair of jeans to be hemmed on a Monday. The Alitailors team was friendly and helpful. Indicated jeans would be ready on Friday but ended up being ready Wednesday morning. They texted updates and were very communicative and easy to work with. Additionally, they were able to hem the jeans using the original hem so you can't even tell they were altered. Ali is hands down the BEST! I requested a quote for alterations on my engagement dress (it was way too big) and Ali responded immediately. I brought my dress in on a Friday afternoon and I needed it that following Friday. I felt kind of bad for giving such short notice but the dress arrived way later than expected. We needed to make adjustments to the side, the length, and the bust area. I got a text on Monday afternoon saying it was ready for pickup. I've visited Alitailors twice now! The first time I brought in a dress that I was hoping to add pockets to. While they are very responsive via messaging and texting, they insisted on seeing the dress in person to provide an estimate - they wanted to be sure they understood the material of the clothing, the placement of the pockets, etc. I appreciate their thoroughness, and the estimate ended up being higher than I was willing to pay. But I had a great experience communicating with them, so I was back a few months later to add elbow patches on a cashmere cardigan. They were very communicative about timeline and texted when the work was done. It looks like it was always a part of the original garment. The quality of work and service were well worth the price. Will definitely return for more alterations needs in the future. I also appreciate the parking spaces right in front and how clean and tidy the shop is. read more

I got a dress altered about a year ago (and came out fine) and I suspect bias in the ownership/ management/employees towards customers of a certain 'complexion.' I was told I had to pay before the dress was done, which was fine and I had no complaints. The man helping me behind the desk was also using his phone at the same time, but I didn't judge. However, while I waiting for the man assisting to finish processing my payment, a girl who was of a pale complexion (a different color from me) came in to pay for a service as well. The same man that was processing my payment tells her that she doesn't have to pay until after.......I won't forget that. I had better things to do so I went about my day and told myself that the day I come back for my dress will be my last. That was wrong and I hope management reflects on this and treats customers fairly. I now need another dress altered and this is the closest tailor to my home, but I won't be coming here again because of that incident. I advise against this place if you are a person that's black or brown.... read more

I procrastinated on getting my bridesmaid dress hemmed and needed it done within a week. After requesting quotes on Yelp, Alitailors came through with the quick response and even better, a quick turnaround time. I put in a request on Yelp on Thursday morning, went in to measure/drop off my dress on Thursday afternoon, and got a text that it was ready on Saturday afternoon. My dress was made of chiffon, so a tricky fabric to cut and hem, I've heard. I paid ~ $80 for the hem and a cut to open the slit a bit more. I was expecting the rate to be less to be honest and was hoping to get a quote before I got there. But I understand they needed to see it first. Plus after learning more about the fabric I understood why it was priced higher than I thought. Either way, it was a great experience across the board. Really great and kind staff, quick service, and great tailoring. It's located on a busy cross section of Hayward on Jackson street. The parking lot is small and could be difficult to access if there's a lot of traffic on Jackson (usually during the rush hour times). Plan ahead and visit outside those busy hours! read more
