Really love coming here.I come here regularly to fill up my water it's also a huge plus that's there is parking in front so you can just load the water from shop to vehicle. Would select 0 stars but it's forcing 1 on me. Don't ever go here! Dude was a complete asshole! Wanted to rinse out my water jug and there was a dirty disgusting rag on the clean water nozzle to wash your jug. I asked him if it's usable And so he had to actually get up from his chair from watching his smartphone and complained at me saying "just move it are you that much of a pussy" I said seriously and walked out. I'm in a generous mood, so I'll give Alka Pi a 3 star. Should be 2.5, but 3 will do at the moment. The water and prices are pretty decent. My main issue is the skimpy vending machine water measurements. Over the last three years I've gotten less and less for $10. If the machines are truly dispensing 5 gallons at a time, other Alkaline water places cranking out 6 gallons. I'm convinced I'm getting 4.25 to 4.5 gallons even though I paid $10 for 5 gallons. I love buying my alkaline water from this store, Ken is great, knowledgeable, always professional and keeps his store and equipment very neat and clean. He often helps me with my water which I really appreciate. I've received an appropriate number of free bottles from my punch card which I consider a bonus. Ken is NOT a Chatty Cathy but just an ordinary no nonsense guy trying to run a business and make a honest living. Covid-19 is changing the way we all shop and do business. If you don't like Ken you can always go elsewhere but good luck finding local alkaline water that taste as good. read more

NUMBER OF VISITS: 10+ WOULD I COME BACK: yes You don't see very many filtered water storefronts in Pedro. There's only one other place I can think of down on Channel and Gaffey, but that place sucks. Otherwise you are stuck with the water machines outside grocery stores and the typical water bottles/cases in the supermarkets, liquor stores, Target, etc. Although I appreciate water delivery such as Sparkletts and Arrowhead, it can get pretty pricey for H2O. The bottled waters are good and convenient but let's help save the world by cutting down on plastic shall we? Also, I've heard/read somewhere that those plastic containers can sometimes be housed in hot warehouses and hot delivery trucks where bits of the plastic melts into the water. uhhh no thanks! Anyway, back to the review of this place. The water tastes good. They change their filters so there's no weird aftertaste. It's clean, the owner is fairly friendly and can give you some great education on how Alkaline water benefits you. Oh yeah, they sell Alkaline water too. It's more expensive, but apparently it hydrates you more and has more nutrients or something. It does taste better (if you can tell the difference and if you're an H2O connoisseur). However, my poor girl attitude can't justify paying $2/gallon for water. I mean really....back in the day, we just drank out of water fountains at the park! Whatever...I digress. So yeah...bring your reusable water bottle containers and fill it up today! NOTE: Alkaline water is $2.00/gallon. Filtered is $0.30. Stop buying bottled water to save plastic and save the earth! I'm so happy to have these folks offering alkaline water in a friendly environment and accessible part of San Pedro/Rancho Palos Verdes. They are great, the store and equipment is always clean, well maintained, the water taste great and it's a great place to buy water and supplies at a very fair and decent price. I have been a very satisfied customer for almost a year now and I can't say enough good things about these folks. My hat is off to the folks at Alka Pi Water who I think do an excellent job in all aspects of running a successful business, providing healthy tasty clean water options and attending to the varying customer demands. Wow, for this guy to say he helps people bring the water to the car is such a big fat lie. And I have a small child. He or she has never helped bring my jug to the car. Maybe this review will encourage them to make some changes. Myself and 5 other of my neighbors chose to never go back as this business has I repeat NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! I went in today. Desperate for alka water. Went to the self serve. A customer was standing behind my car as I was trying to leave and I asked her I asked her to move as I was trying to leave. I've purchased my alkaline water here for at least 5 years now, 10 gallons every week to week and a half give or take. Never really had a problem. They have a punch card and of all the times I've gone there I have probably received one free 5 gallon jug because every time I go, it usually ends up being after hours. Not their problem I know, but this last week I started asking more questions about it and if I would receive any rewards and how it works, mind you, it's been at least 2 years now that I've received that 1 free jug. Ken then responded to me very rudely and said that if I can't read it then maybe I shouldn't go back there. We had words and went back and forth and I finally dropped him the f* bomb and so did he. I've been giving them my money for years now, needless to say he's lost my business and Donut Star (previously Lina's Donuts) sells alkaline water for $3 cheaper anyways and their customer service is superb! I go to this shop several times a month for alkaline water and other products. I am always greeted with a friendly smile. The juices and sodas they sell are delicious! They are very knowledgeable on alkaline water, as well as the other products they sell. I would (and do) recommend this shop to all my friends. I've even referred complete strangers. There are other alkaline water shops closer to where I live, but the service sucks. This shop will have my business for life. read more

The owner was kind enough to let me in 10 minuets early before opening on one Saturday, however he commented " I don't even have time to eat my break fast because of you, and you are buying fucking regular water! Why don't you buy it from the vending machine outside!?" He kept on using F word. Expressed his unhappiness very well. I will never go back there. Very rude and disinterested customer care. We bought the 5 gallon container and within a week a crack formed on the bottom. The container was not dropped or left in sun, but obviously a manufacturer defect. So took I took it back hoping for exchange but nope, they instead called me liar and said it was not there problem, stating "we dont make money off them so we dont care" Shockingly bad business. Normally I love this place. The lady and guy seem very friendly during the past couple of months I've been coming here. What I experienced today was very out of character and a bit rude. I got my dollar stuck in the machine and asked for help getting it out. Normally I go down and get my water inside the store but today I decided to use the self service water outside because my kids were sleeping in the car. Anyways, when I had asked for help the guy went to check the machine and then proceeded to tell me through the glass that I broke the machine, very rudely with his hands up in the air like it was all my fault. I decided to try and pull the dollar out myself and successfully got it out. He went around out front to give me my precious dollar that I had already put in the machine and told me "not to get the machine stuck" like I had done it on purpose. I did not appreciate the tone he used when dealing with me and the attitude that came with his customer service. I thought maybe I caught him on a bad day but then seeing him help a customer outside with a smile on his face made me think why he was so frustrated helping me out. read more

There are other places that are helpful and customer attentiveness is key to their business. The owner has a nasty disposition. I went to get Alkaline Pi water and just wanted to ask about the water properties of Alkaline water and was given a very dismissive, rude, arrogant, and in my opinion racist attitude. I asked how much the containers where and the guy was so annoyed that I asked he lied and said he didn't have prices on the containers, which was totally not true, I know because my friend had just gone in there to buy from this place and she got wonderful service even referred me to this place, maybe because she is a tall blond he gave her a more personal and friendly attitude. Furthermore, he asked if I had lots of small bottles, why would you ask that, when I asked how much the large containers were and he didn't want to waste his time speaking to me he seemed like he was in a hurry and was very dismissive (I guess he doesn't really want any business). Too bad this guy does not have the personality to retain customers. I never see anyone buying anything from this guy and I live in the area and pass by daily. Hopefully his business flushes down the drain like his water. I will be sending a nice letter to the better business bureau as well to report this man's behavior, not only was I insulted but so was the person I was with who also wanted to purchase water there. Oh and by the way the price per gallon on Alkaline water is $2.00 anywhere else. Don't let the previous review fool you, you will not get any good service if you are of any other race and the water is the same prices as anywhere else. Seems as though he reviewed himself.
