Drove by, saw "best philly cheesesteak " & took the bait. stopped in on the way back. Was getting cold feet so I checked yelp. 3 recent reviews had favorable things to say. Wow, what a disappointment. Tempted to use harsher words because the sandwich was sub par. Take a look at the photo, Where's tge Steak. The portion was minuscule even when both halves were moved to one half of the bun. The meat was ok, bland. cheese nothing special, then got hit with chewiness. Man, I used to frequent this place for years every time I stopped in the desert on my way to Blythe or working in Palm desert since 2008. The Philly Mexicanos is still great size and flavor, but the other two were very disappointing in size and taste. the meat was expired (had a fruity alcoholic flavor) and wasn't as large as it used to be. Hope this was a bad day cause I loved coming here. read more

This place was awful. Two sandwiches with drinks and chips cost $43. The sandwiches were dry, flavorless, and the tuna fish had some kind of vinegar added to it. We wanted to like it because we live nearby, but we have way too many other great options. Oh well, we gave it a shot. read more

I've always gone to the Indio location and never had any issues, but this was my first (and last) time trying the Palm Desert one. It's a mix of a liquor store and a back kitchen -- I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with regular fries and nacho cheese. NEVER AGAIN. About 2-3 hours after eating, I started feeling sick -- and I've been dealing with nonstop diarrhea and vomiting ever since. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Pretty decent place to get a Philly Cheese Steak or some loaded fries! I was in the Palm Dessert area and needed something for lunch. I was surprised to see that this place was somewhat like a 7-11 on the inside but with a kitchen that served a bunch of quick foods like cheese burgers, burritos, and salads. I opted for the Philly Cheese Steak since I saw so many reviews about it! It was pretty good, but the meat was not very flavorful. The cheese definitely gave it more flavor, but the meat by itself was pretty bland. I needed to add some salt on there. The bread was pretty good and a bit chewy. There were A LOT OF ONIONS, a bit too much for my liking. Overall, I'll probably be back, but I'll try a different variety of the Philly Steak. read more

This place is pretty damn good. I wish I had more meat under Philly cheesesteaks though. But the taste in the bun was wonderful. The way it was dressed was great. The service was fantastic. All the employees seemed pretty cool. I would strongly recommend this place and a cheesesteak I'll be back. But french fries four hours and $.50 for an order of french fries was pretty damn expensive. It was actually above four I don't know if it was 450 but it waslittle expensive for french fries. read more

Customer for 15 years. Flavor's have not changed. Philly steak was $8.95 for years sure I understand prices need to go up. Not to 18 dollars though. Plus the bread roll is almost half the size and the meat portion is also much less as of lately the portions have changed. Sandwich fries and a large coke almost $29.00 which used to be maybe $14.00. I'm not even full. It shows it's not as busy as it used to be. The service the boy working behind the counter argued with me about the facts. I learned along time ago if you can't agree dont say anything. The manager was standing right there too. Shame on the owner of this place. I like him he's a nice man! But he's not there any longer. The gentleman doing the cooking is worth all the money in the world I don't know his name but he's been there as long as I've been going there. Love that guy. It's borderline rude. When I go in, I always get greeted by and I try new things all the time the cashier name Kayla is absolutely amazing, she had told me to try the Philly three cheese bacon steak and that is one of my favorites now of course with the fries and a drink! The philly steaks used to be really good, not anymore. I have been coming to this place since late 1990's. I have tried the steak and chicken, both are used to be good. Portions were generous on meat and fries. They do not have a lot of room to seat only about 12 stools inside. Update change of ownership and things are getting bad sometimes they don't have fries, owners in the register are rude. The bread in the Philly is not good as it used to be. Now I giving the place 2 stars instead of 4. Update last few times I order the philly meat its dry and the cheese its not melted and order was wrong in 2 different times portions on the meat are small. I would recommend to try the Alkobar in Indio Hwy 111 by the Fairgrounds instead of this one in Palm Desert. I will give them another try soon. read more

Fue Muy Fuego I was recommended this place by a local friend. It was amazing. Pictured is a joes Philly cheese and a spicy chicken sandwich. The Philly cheesesteak was the best I've ever Had. It was salty and spicy. The bread was soft and it didn't give me much resistance when biting into the sandwich. They had a lot of sauces to choose from and i really liked the spicy cheese one. The spicy chicken was good well. The buffalo sauce was a good amount of spicy. I wish i could put their sauce on wings. If I'm ever in Palm desert I'll be back read more

Terrible customer service. They missed half our order and it was a hassle to get them to refund it back. When told that we were not given our full order, the supervisor Andrea blamed it on us. Andrea popped an attitude when she was unable to get the card number right. The food that we did get came in styrofoam and the styrofoam was melted into some of the chicken. The ketchup we received is old and unpleasantly brownish. Overall a horrible experience. I have visited this establishment since I was in high school with the previous owners kid. Such a shame to have such an awful experience. Our order was over $100, guess we'll take it elsewhere. read more

I have been coming here for over 12 years. Always would get breakfast burritos during Coachella when I didn't live here full time. Now that I'm back and my office is down the street, I've been going more. Overall the food is tasty, which is their saving grace for my review. Philly cheese is great if ordered to your liking; it can be quite greasy and soggy if I don't get light cheese and sauce on the side. Chicken on the teriyaki chicken is kinda bad meat, but the veggies, portion and sauce make up for it. Great breakfast burritos, again if ordered similar to the Philly. BUT the last 3x I've called in to order, there has been the same girl that answered and she is doing a TERRIBLE job representing this establishment. Lacks friendliness, personality, and professionalism. I guess that's how the world is going, just order through the web/app etc. I will continue to eat at this establishment as the guys in the kitchen work hard and it is convenient. Best place in the Coachella Valley for a cheese steak, Alkobar has lots of other amazing food options but the Philly Mexicano is my go to. The Philly Mexicano has sliced ribeye steak with grilled onions and jalapeños, secret sauce, topped with pepper jack cheese and shredded lettuce. The service is great and friendly staff, no indoor seating but a nice patio with great ambiance in the winter months. read more
