Great service. Just don't think it's right to charge $23 for concession quality burger and fries.

Needed food. Wanted quick and simple. Nothing heavy. It's how a friend and I ended up here…read more Just off the main drag of the downtown area, parking is free and a lot easier to find. I don't know what it's like when it's busy because on the day we arrived, the entire area was a ghost town. Not even sleepy - no cars on the road and this cafe was even still opening. Walk in, order and find a seat. Not a lot of seating but there's both indoors and out. We chose to sit indoors as it was a little warm and I didn't want to be out under the sun. See pics of the food. Wanted salad. I tend to always want salad. Went with the Springfield. Crisp and fresh - really enjoyed the toppings and dressing. Harmony. That's how I'd describe this salad. I'd definitely have it again. Grabbed the Hot Springs. Wanted a cold sandwich. Wanted an Italian. Closest I could find and the vinaigrette was even on the side so I could add as much or as little as I wanted. I remember enjoying this sandwich so much I considered grabbing a second for the road. However, we're traveling and gotta try other foods and places. This would be one place I'd go back to if or when I find myself back in Rapid City. This cafe is connected to the brewery (Hay Camp Brewing). In fact, that's where the restrooms are if you need it.

Solid deli with long wait times…read more We visited around 1 pm on a Saturday. After placing our order, it took 45 minutes to get our food, which seemed excessive for sandwiches, so it seems they're understaffed. Someone working at the connected bar actually tried to clear our napkins/silverware before our food even arrived! Thankfully, the food was good, save for way too much mayo, which was easily remedied. The standout item was actually the sticky bun, which we ate the next morning- one of the best I've ever had! All the drinks also look amazing- we tried some kind of berry lemonade that was exceptional. It was also my husband's first time trying bison, and it was thinly sliced to perfection. It appears that they have an excellent variety of breads. I'd recommend going here if you're not too hungry and have time to wait. And definitely get the baked goods!

A friend recommended this place to me, and she is a pie aficionado…read more I dropped in on a summer weekday afternoon and the line to order pie and ice cream was long. Fortunately it moved fairly quickly. Service was efficient and friendly. The decor is pleasant, kind of a purple Victorian farm house feel. I got a slice of the apple pie and the peanut butter pie to go. The apple pie was awesome! Redolent of cinnamon, the filling was fully cooked, full of soft apple-y goodness. The crust was flaky and sweet and might have have sugar and cinnamon baked in the top crust. Delicious! The peanut butter pie was also great. A soft, light peanut butter filling in a flaky crust. Yummy! The apple pie was the star of the show for me this visit. I can't speak to their ice cream or other offerings. But it looks like they offer lots of savory items as well as coffee drinks. The pie here is truly delicious! My friend did not steer me wrong!

Cute little (actually pretty large) place with excellent food, quick friendly service, and good ice…read morecream. I had the Chicken Pot Pie, so good. It had plenty of carrots and peas in a thick creamy gravy, snd plenty of big chunks white meat chicken, and side crust not just the little crust on top a lot of places seem to be doing nowadays. It's made here, and it's their specialty. I saw they had strawberry-rhubarb pie and planned on getting a piece. But then noticed their Raspberry-rhubarb-jalapeño and decided I needed to try that. Alas the time for a concert I was going to was fast approaching and I didn't have time for any pie

Great little place at the KOA Resort. Outside seating, small downstairs bar, and inside seating…read morewith high window views. See our YouTube channel Coolest Life.

We were camping at the KOA here so decided to try the Peak Grill and Taproom on our last evening…read more We were still on Eastern Time Zone, so came in around 4 for dinner. We were greeted with: "Where would you like to sit?" I replied that we hadn't been there before.. would have liked to know our options (more on that later) but the disinterested hostess grabbed a couple menus and took off. We didn't get far - there was a small table for two overlooking the deck (I might have liked to sit there had I known...), right next to a short ramp down about 12" from the hostess area. I believe this area was originally a porch, so the floor wasn't very heavily reinforced. To the point that every time a staff person came through, it was as though Hermann Munster was trudging through - our entire table shook, my iced tea actually spilled over the top. This went on through our entire meal. I would have said something, but there was no obvious manager in sight, and what could they have done? Perhaps moved us, but I grit my teeth and went on with Life. On a better note, the food was very good: I had the Buffalo Meatloaf with mashed potato. The gravy was a bit overpowering - it's a shame that this is the first time I'd had buffalo and have no idea what it tastes like. I should have ordered gravy on the side. My wife had macaroni & cheese with a piece of grilled chicken. We both had small salads to start. We're not heavy eaters, and usually only get through about 1/2 of our meals, so we were done rather quickly. Unfortunately, there was no sign of our server for ~10 minutes while we waited patiently. There was only one other party in the room, so it's not like she was occupied with other customers. I finally had to go ask for our check at the hostess station. Even then, someone else brought our check. We're usually big tippers, and frequently will tip 100% for great service. We tipped the nominal 15% and left. We'd go again... maybe. But we wouldn't sit anywhere near the ramp.
