A friend recommended this place to me, and she is a pie aficionado. I dropped in on a summer weekday afternoon and the line to order pie and ice cream was long. Fortunately it moved fairly quickly. I think it's by kemps, but the ice cream we got looked and tasted old. Like it's been sitting there for a few weeks. I say this cause you can tell it's more ice, than cream. Love, love, love Purple Pie Place. My family stopped in for lunch while in town visiting. We ordered our meals and polished them off with pie and that is obviously (because it's in the name) the highlight of the visit. A popular place! Line was long, but moved quickly. We got the strawberry rhubarb pie and the peanut butter pie (with plans to split those) and a scoop of huckleberry ice cream. One thing is that we had asked if the ice cream could be set on the side (because we have someone who is lactose intolerant) and the girl smiled at us and put the ice cream right on top of the rhubarb pie, so we had to take some quick action to salvage the half of pie that the lactose intolerant person could eat. The ice cream is ice cream and nothing special. The people who work there are very friendly. they have inside and outside seating which was convenient to us as we had our dog with us.
