I can't say enough positive things about Michael Powelson, owner of All About Electric Service and Maintenance, LLC. His quality of work is outstanding. His prices are very reasonable. His work was speedy, he kept the house (inside and out) clean, and he treated the quality of the job as if he were installing it in his own home. He ran a dedicated GFCI circuit for me from the master breaker box to the opposite corner of the house. It required running wire through the attic, but also concealing and protecting the wire in conduit when it exited the attic on either end. His job was extremely professional - he even painted the exposed conduit to match the house exterior color, which was not required. He also noted some poor builder-contracted electrical hookups in the main breaker box and fixed those at no extra charge. He wanted to ensure their shoddy work didn't make him look bad or compromise my entire home electric system. His attitude is great, he dealt with the final inspections required, took care of all the paperwork, literally did everything with a smile and a very caring attitude. Mike has rescued us on several occasions. In the past, we hired 3 or 4 other local electricians and have not been satisfied with the results of their work. Mike first responded one year ago to an emergency caused by another company and fixed it right the first time. We were so impressed with his work and knowledge that we hired him to do a whole house surge protector, maintenance on our circuit board, and he ran a new line to our hot tub and a new line to a master bathroom. The master bath wiring had been improperly wired and "fixed" by two other electricians and continually tripped the circuits. We have had no issues with any of Mike's repairs and service. The most recent job was a Ring doorbell installation. After hitting a couple of snags, most likely caused by our internet provider, we were so grateful we didn't attempt a DIY project and had Mike install it. While he works, Mike tells you what he's doing, why he's doing it, and when he spots a problem he will show you. Perhaps that's why another reviewer found him condescending and rude. We do not. Mike is very knowledgeable about his profession, and I was impressed by how quickly and accurately he was able to diagnose and solve my electrical problem. A 20 amp breaker popped that controlled two bedrooms and a bathroom in my house, and could not be reset. I thought it might have resulted from a separated electrical conduit above the rooms on the roof of the house, but Mike quickly determined that the line in the conduit was from earlier electrical work, and no longer was functional. He then went into our house and went directly to a light switch box in the bathroom, which turned out to be the problem. When I asked him how he knew to look there first, rather than the bedrooms, he explained how builders typically wired houses like mine (the problem turned out to be a humidifier wire in the box that had gone bad). He also changed out the 20 amp breaker for a more appropriate 15 amp breaker. I was pleased that he was able to work me into his schedule much earlier than I had expected. The work is not cheap ($240 base, as has been remarked in other reviews), but if you want your electrical work done efficiently and correctly the first time, I recommend Mike. read more

Had Mike come out and put a wall plug in my garage for my freezer. It had been plugged into the GFCI plug and it flipped and my freezer sensor was telling me the temp was dropping. Mike was able to fit me in and came out first thing this morning and not only installed the dedicated labeled freezer plug, he also replaced the GFCI switch, which was original to the house (2000). He also showed me that it had burned on the back and melted wires and was a fire hazard. And, he explained that you never want to plug a refrigerator or freezer into a GFCI plug. He checked the front and back yard GFCI plugs to make sure they were operable and labeled everything, even the electric box outside. He explains everything he is doing or going to do and why, so not only do you get your electrical fixed, you get educated, which I greatly appreciated! Even patches the drywall holes. Very reasonable price. I don't know why you would call anyone else. I know he's my electrical guy from now on. Give him a call. You won't be disappointed. read more

He kept us aware of the list of items he had identified as potential issues and took the time to explain them, and what the next steps were to correct the situation. When it was discovered to be an HVAC problem not an electrical issue, he went the extra mile and got in contact with our HVAC company and waited until they arrived to ensure the HVAC technician was aware of what he had done and what he had found. He stayed until the A/C was working. Mike's work ethic is top notch. Mike exceeded all expectations we had. I am so grateful I called him. Mike will be who we call if we ever have an electrical need. I had the opportunity of working with Michael Powelson when I contracted to have a therapy tub installed in my home. He came out and worked with the installation crew for the bath remodel and ensured that all the electrical requirements were in top order and ready for the completion of the project. He was very professional, worked well with the other installers, was always on time and easy to work with. During this time, he noted some deficiencies with some major issues with electric status of my older townhome......after over 30 years some things were outdated. Mike is an excellent electrician who certainly gives you your money worth. We had a lot for him to do-assemble and install both a preordered ceiling fan and. Kitchen chandelier light, and replace /install 6 kitchen cam lights. He arrived a few minutes early and got to it, handling the unavoidable glitches ( antiquated box in the ceiling for the fan; fabrication of a new nipple to attach the chandelier ) and got it all done in under 3 hours. With no complaint he replaced a dodgy wall dimmer in another room that we had just brought up at the last, and finished up by explaining for us the optimum lumens for the chandelier light bulbs and the necessity of buying dimmable bulbs. I called Mike at All about Electric Service when the heat started to pick up and I needed to run my AC. Bare in mind he is the fifth Electrician that has been to my house to make this repair. He quickly grabbed his gear and started to troubleshoot my issue. Mike had the issue figured out in minutes. The other electricians ghosted me after they couldn't figure out what was wrong. It was hot and my family needed help. I expected to wait a few days to have to project finished. This was not the case Mike had a crew at my house first thing in a morning. Repeat customer here. Electric is not something you hire a handyman to do, so if you want a licensed professional, Mike is the guy you call. First time was a little over a year ago to reroute our outdoor electric lighting. The second time was recently in May. He had to run two additional outlets in our garage to upgrade to 20 amp for our new freezer and existing refrigerator. He had to cut into our drywall and go up and into the attic and back down to the circuit breaker box. I must say that even the drywall repair looks amazing. I asked my landscaper why some of my plants looked awful even with the monsoons we've been having. It turned out that the rain had short-circuited all of my outside electric sockets. I needed a 240v line for my EV car so I called two random companies who were 'too busy' to return my call or schedule me. Michael responded right away and came out and surveyed my location. Two days later and about two hours on site. I had an upgraded line placed exactly where I needed it. In addition, he cleaned up a few rogue lines (I didn't know I had) from the previous owner. I called Mike about flickering lights and breakers that kept burning out. He was able to come out and check my electrical panel and knew exactly what was going on when he opened it. I needed a panel upgrade, as mine was overloaded and burnt. He was able to come by within less than a week and get me upgraded to something much safer and would support my energy use! He got my whole panel done within a few hours, which was awesome because it didn't get too hot in the house by the time he was done. Contacted Michael for a couple of items: to troubleshoot an exterior outlet and correct that problem first. Then, after he expert analysis of the issue, was able to correct it. Mike continues to call and threaten me wanting to meet and fight for posting how unprofessional his attitude was on 9/12/22. Mike thinks he can scare me by calling from different phones and yell profanities and threats, which he just did again yesterday 9/19/22.
