Given that Parker and Sons has thousands of reviews and a 4.7-star rating, I figured they must be reliable. I had a technician come out to do an electrical inspection, and he listed several issues. The total estimate for repairs was over $30,000. This was a lot of money, so I naturally got a second, third, and fourth opinion to make sure everything was legitimate. I did not tell the other companies that I was getting multiple opinions, as I wanted "honest" assessments. All three of the other companies agreed on one major issue that needs to be repaired, estimating the cost at around $5,000-$7,000. When I asked about the other issues Parker and Sons pointed out (e.g., water damage), they said they did not see any of that. They double-checked and, for example, explained that the "water" was just normal grease from the initial installation. Basically, it seems like the technician who inspected my house from Parker and Sons tried to overcharge me by tens of thousands of dollars. Maybe others have had better service or received more reasonable quotes, but I strongly caution everyone to get a second, third, and fourth opinion. Personally, I will never use Parker and Sons again, nor will I recommend them after this experience. I immediately canceled my subscription with them. Be careful everyone. read more

Several months ago I took advantage of Parker's summer special to check out my AC for $39. I'm always skeptical because these are a money loser unless they can find something to charge additional labor or parts for. The tech was diligent in checking everything, and I was surprised when he said the motor start capacitor was good (typically these are the first things to go and the easiest to convince the customer if they are bad). I knew mine was good because I recently replaced it. My concern kicked in when the tech showed me the rusted evaporator coil. He said it was bad and my entire HVAC needed to be replaced. I argued that the system was running fine. He pulled out his leak detector and said, "you're almost at 100 units, this is a bad leak and probably won't last a month." The tech then looked around (to see if anyone was listening to us) and whispered, "this is a rental right? You know, this system is pushing potentially contaminated air into your house and your tenants are breathing this." What the tech didn't know, is that I am familiar with refrigerant leak detectors, as well as HVAC systems. 100 ppm is not alarming in the least. No concerns whatsoever. Additionally, the galvanized end caps are rusting, NOT the copper tubing which contains the refrigerant. The system is running just fine, so far. Yes, it could fail, but not as immediately as what I was led to believe. I entertained the tech's request to have an estimator stop by. One just happened to be "conveniently in the area." It was over 30 minutes before the estimator arrived, so they were obviously not in the area, but it is what it is. The estimator came back with three options; $25k, $22k, and $19k. I asked how quick the turnaround was to replace the system. I was told it could be completed within a day. With that, I told both the estimator and tech that I would wait until complete failure before replacing. Now the fun begins. Over the next several weeks I get calls, texts, and emails from the estimator and office people following up to see when I want to schedule my new HVAC system. I never responded to any of them, yet they kept on coming. Talk about high-pressure sales tactics. How many elderly, or unsuspecting people fall victim to this? Now, to sum it up, I did have my HVAC checked out for a small fee and no immediate upcharges on the spot, so I appreciate that. But, maybe, it was because a larger fish was yet to be caught. Who knows. I'll stick to the smaller, independent HVAC contractors who are just trying to put food on their family's table. read more

I had Parker & Sons put solar panels on my roof January 2025. September 2025 I was given Permission to Operate by the electric company. They didn't work. I called Parker & Sons to ask why. They sounded like they were going to get them working. I felt like nobody I talked to knew what was going on, but they were going to take care of me. Every time I called, they didn't know anything about why, but they were going to talk to managers or supervisors and were going to get back to me. Basically telling me what I wanted to hear but not following up. It's nearing the end of May 2026 and guess what? THEY STILL AREN'T WORKING. Electric bills are high, still trying to pay off the panels and also high interest rates on the loan to get them. They always sound like they are sorry for what I'm going through and are going to help. But hopefully someday, somebody at Parker & Sons might actually follow up and find out why I have something they sold me, that is very expensive, that I have yet to benefit from. I left a message Monday May 18 to call me back. Thursday I realized they weren't. I called them. Was told, "Sorry. I'll talk to managers and we will get back to you today". They called back Friday and told me they'd be out that day between 4 and 6. Got a call 5:50 to say, "Sorry, we had an emergency and will have to reschedule". "What emergency?" I asked. "Oh, no. I meant he had to help somebody else," was their reply. Think twice before hiring this company if you want solar. Side note - the reviews on their site. I tried to look at them. All 5 stars. Well the good news first. The customer service is amazing! I got a same day appointment for a leak with the drain on my 7 month old water heater. I was draining and flushing the water heater, everything was going great until I went to close the drain, and it leaked. Not a lot, but it would not stop. I tried all the you tube fixes. Agghhr. So I called the company that installed the heater, and they said 5 days to get some one out. I called Parker and Sons...same day. COOL! Let me say again...I LOVED the same day! service!. Larry came out and was nice. What I didn't get from you tube...was all I needed was a damn drain cap. So Larry put a drain cap on, and it was $79 dollars for the "diagnostic fee". Larry was very nice, and told me he could replace the valve for about 350 dollars. I told him I would think about it. They called several times to follow up, but I cant afford 350 dollars for ...a longer ...bigger drain. The $350.00 was at a 10% discount for having the family plan. I did sign up for the "family plan" for service of my AC etc. I am not sure yet, as I loved the quick response, but still am on the fence as to a couple things. TBD! read more

The water connection from my house to the street decided to break and leak just before the Jul 4 holiday. Fortunately, Anthony from Parker & Sons arrived to the rescue. He did a great job explaining the reasons for the break, his repair solutions and the costs for the job. TLDR-This company will not appropriately respect your time, they will lie to you about what needs to be fixed on your house, and then they will blame it on you for misunderstanding. If you need a reliable company, find one that puts actual parts on their quotes because they are not commission based AND will respect your time. (I have been told this company doesn't put the parts on their quotes so the customer can't look them up and see if it's a fair quote or not.) Detailed Review: Parker and Sons messed up on scheduling two out of three of my appointments. Meaning in the three interactions that I've had with them, two of them have not been scheduled appropriately & my time was wasted. Everyone's time is valuable. So if you value your time & people showing up when they say they will (whether you get a confirmation from the company or not), I wouldn't schedule with them. On top of that, they lied to me about a part in my HVAC system needing to be replaced. I chose to sign up for their $15 a month service contract which entitles me to free inspections of my HVAC unit. When I finally made time for this, they lied to me about something needing to be replaced. (I confirmed this with a separate technician, who is a former athlete of mine, so I trust him implicitly.) When I called to cancel my service contract with Parker and Sons, the MAN whom I spoke to tried to blame me for not understanding the email I was sent. (He also started reading aloud to me what the fucking email said. How condescending is that?!) How can I misunderstand a PDF called "System Restoration & Enhance.."? The PDF literally tells me that a portion of my system is broken and it will cost me $314 to fix. (Please see the attached PDF.) I also told them that maybe they should require the owner to be present at the time of service so that there's no misunderstandings. But again, I didn't misunderstand anything and they lied to me about my system, needing to be fixed. They called said they were 45 minutes out and 1 hour later someone else called and said he's 1-1/2 out.. i already waited an hour for someone else I thought would have already been here with no follow up that he got rerouted. I canceled the service. Tucson is full of electricians they lost the business. Then I see here all the appointment complaints just like mine. It's too bad, cause I was also going to hire them for my ac service if this call worked out. But such is life. Hopefully if you do use them you have a better experience but that was mine. The salesman was very kind, but took several hours explaining everything we could ever wish (or not) to know about ac units. It was several hours before he even looked at our unit, and I eventually had to ask him to leave so I could feed my kids. And I've noticed how all their employees actually LOVE their job and they seem to respect the company. My family purchased an older home with plenty of quirks. Parker & Sons has helped with plenty our Plumbing and Electrical needs. First, I'd like to thank Curtis for helping solve my home's horrid electrical situation. He helped diagnose some very strange DIY electrical work. We decided to run new wire throughout the entire house, swapped all outlets and switches and installed an updated power box on the side of the house. This was during the Phoenix summer, with no power or AC. He was professional, knowledgeable and friendly throughout everything. I will forever remember his hard work and kindness. Second, I'd like to thank Jake and Ian who have been so very helpful with our plumbing issues. Jake came to our house for an emergency call and worked with us until midnight until we had clear lines. He was friendly, patient, and worked in the RAIN and dark of night to identify our problem. Ian showed the next morning ready to scope our lines and create a plan of action. It was a rare downpour in Phoenix, but that didn't stop them. Between Jake and Ian, I feel like we have our own personal team of experts making our home better. Not only that, but after they came out and replaced her water softener and messed with the water lines under her kitchen sink, her kitchen, sewing room and bathroom all flooded (while she was in the hospital) causing major damage. All the bottom cupboards in her kitchen, along with baseboards, had to be replaced! The carpet in her sewing room had to be replaced and additional repairs in the bathroom. After having them back out to fix the plumbing problem that they caused the first time, the line is still leaking! Their technician came out under the pretense of quoting a water softener installation in our brand new home that already had a proper loop installed. He refused to give even a ballpark price over the phone -- classic bait-and-switch tactic. Once he showed up, he immediately started with the scare tactics: "Good thing you have that loop, otherwise this could cost up to $15,000!" Then he hit me with a ridiculous $6,600 quote. He also trashed the galvanized piping on our tankless water heater, claiming it should've been black iron -- even though the entire setup had already passed county inspection, the gas company, the builder, AND an independent inspector. Total nonsense. The very next day I called a regular independent plumber. He installed a top-of-the-line water softener from Home Depot for just $1,050 -- everything included. Same house, same loop, no drama, no lies. This company is running a straight-up rip-off operation with high-pressure scare tactics. They won't even quote a rough price on the phone because they know their numbers are insane. Who actually falls for this crap? Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Parker & Sons. My experience with Parker & Sons in Tucson was extremely disappointing and frankly alarming. They were hired for an above the roof electrical conduit installation. For just about $3000, the quality of the work was unacceptable. The conduit penetration flashing on the roof they installed was the worst I've ever seen, amateurish, and obviously rushed (attached photos). Also, some of the cover plates on the conduit pull-elbows were even left loose. It's hard to believe this passed any kind of visual inspection by the technician. A neighbor had initially pointed out how bad of a job it was because they were able to see it from their house. Even worse, the hot AC wire inside the circuit breaker panel was visibly stripped and torn as it was pulled into the conduit. I had to temporarily wrap it in electrical tape myself to prevent any kind of short or arcing. This isn't just shoddy workmanship, it's a serious safety hazard that shows a complete lack of attention to detail or care for electrical/fire safety. On top of all that, the crew left trash and bits scattered around the property and even up on the roof. Discarded materials, bits of wire, tape, and other debris were simply left behind for me to deal with. I called Parker & Sons again to have someone look at the work (under warranty). They had a different technician come out to look at it again. The new technician agreed with my concerns and assured me they'd do everything they could to fix the conduit flashing on the roof and repair or replace the damaged wires, and they would notify a supervisor. I haven't heard back in two weeks now... The overall craftsmanship was far below acceptable standards and customer service is sub-par. Again, for close to $3000, I expected professional work from a company with their reputation, but what I got was careless, messy, and potentially dangerous. After our heat went out and our regular HVAC guy was out for the weekend, I contacted Parker and Sons to take a look. After an $80 diagnostic, P&S told us we would need a brand new HVAC system (our was only 6 years old), and we may even need to enlarge our air intake in the ceiling of our living room. Cost? Oh, ONLY ~$10,000+! We decided to "tough out" having no heat over the weekend to get a second opinion from our regular, independent HVAC guy. Our regular HVAC guy came Monday, cleaned some coils and replaced the filter and did a few other minor maintenance things and it again works fine. I had the BEST experience with Parker & Sons yesterday. They sent technician Jamos to help me. I was replacing my home's switches with smart ones so I can be a control freak and turn on and off lights from my phone, which like most other modern humans, I'm staring at 24/7 anyway! He showed up in a flash! They had given me an early appointment, which I really appreciated because it felt urgent to me. I had wires hanging out of the wall. I have cats. Cats and live wires hanging out of the wall feels to me like an urgent situation. Watts happening! He said when he arrived. Just kidding, that's my electric joke. Ha! In truth, he was really quite friendly and professional. He asked me to describe the problem, which I did, and then he got to work. He showed me what I had done wrong, and encouraged me to try again, if I need to swap a switch in the future. I was happy to pay their reasonable bill for the well done job. Besides, they have to charge you, they're electricians! Ha! Get it? Charge you... I'm so grateful Jamos and Parker&Sons saved the day! read more

We hired Parker and Sons to install a new air conditioner unit as well as a tankless water heater back in August of 2024. We went with this company because one of the managers was close with our general contractor (who we trusted). To make a long story short, this project cost us nearly $40,000. We were told specifically that this company was admittedly more expensive because they provided "better service." This was not our experience. During this project we had 2 workers at our home installing the air conditioner, which involved using a crane to get a new air conditioner to our roof. The two workers were completely exhausted by the end of the day and said that this was definitely a job for more than two guys. This install was done on 10/22/24. We were told there would be someone out to adjust for airflow, but we did not hear from anyone. Then, on 11/3/24 there was a rainstorm in Tucson and the air conditioner duct began massively leaking into our dining room. I sent a video and tried to connect with someone at Parker and Son's - I was told to contact the "Installation Manager" (not one of the two guys working to install the unit). I called him and let him know about the leak and he said he would get out there that same night. He called me back an hour later and said he could not come but he would be there first thing in the morning. He did not show up the next morning. Two weeks went by and I finally met the "Installation Manager." The installation manager provided us with inconsistent information regarding our AC unit, airflow, and repairing the damages caused by Parker and Son's. He would set appointments and then cancel. He would have technicians come out and not communicate with them about what needed to be done. We had a technician who came out several times and on one occasion inexplicably blocked off airflow to an entire room. Overall this was a very frustrating experience and I would not recommend this company - they overcharge and it is like pulling teeth to get them to complete the job. Finally, on 3/6/25 they came out to complete the work. $40,000 later, the arduous job of getting a new air conditioner and water heater installed is complete - nearly 5 months after the initial install. read more

For years my family has been worried about our incredibly outdated electrical box that was the original one from 1973 and after enduring increasingly troubling issues, it came to a head one Sunday when an alarming pungent smell was coming from the electrical box with power going off in parts of the house. A technician from Parker & Sons made an emergency call within an hour and quickly engaged TEP it was that dire. (it was determined that we were within a quarter of an inch of having bald wire start a house fire, the burn line was visible on the metal box) We felt confident to hire this company to upgrade our box due to their prompt attention and for ensuring our safety that night by getting TEP involved. The technicians, Darren Whaples and Scott, were incredibly professional and made our home feel safe again! We now have a beautiful, electrical box with double the power. with copper grounding as well. They performed this daunting job during extreme heat and would leave the area pristinely clean. Also we appreciate that we can easily reach Darren with texts, it puts our minds at rest knowing he will respond to any of our concerns. Darren and Scott were very kind and thanks to them, we love going outside and gazing at the safe, fancy box! We also subscribed to the Parker 'family' program that includes several other services - a technician, Donald Kennedy, came and drained our water heater that was overdo for that and took a look at some plumbing issues. I input a project in Yelp for a unit not cooling. Parker and Sons was the only company that called quickly said they could come out same day between 2-6pm. The request was at 12:30 so thats good I think. Joseph called and showed up when he said he would. He listened to my concerns and asked questions to understand my experience. He quickly and efficiently diagnosed the problem and got my unit up and running in no time at all. This review will be all about the technician named Peter. I need to preface this with a universal acknowledgment that HVAC companies are not the type to typically attract glowing reviews. Most folks are calling under irritable circumstances (understandably) resulting in short triggers and high expectations/demands. We had our central a/c unit stop delivering cold air (fan worked). This has happened twice before over the years and (fortunately) it's always been the capacitor that failed. Our rooftop unit is pushing 12 years old but should still have good life remaining. Pete was sent by Parker & Sons and arrived on time. He was polite and conscientious of our modest home. He spent a good 1/2 hour examining things and reporting back to us (filter was good; coils appeared decent and not frozen (like another time); etc.). He found two problems. The (original) thermostat had glitched and that would likely recur. He also found that one of the two (didn't realize there were two!) capacitors had been replaced incorrectly - one with a different power rating of 45 mF where ours required a 35 mF unit (this errant replacement was done under the previous owner). Both capacitors were functioning but his recommendation was to replace the 45 mF capacitor as well as the thermostat. Each repair was between $300-400. A name-brand thermostat is between $50-$80 at any big box store and install can be done in less than 30 minutes by most folks following simple online videos. A capacitor runs about the same price and with labor the average out-the-door repair cost is $200 (see Forbes; Bob VIlla; etc.) but can be as much as $350. I've replaced a couple of capacitors in my lifetime but with the precarious rooftop location of ours and the voltages in play, we opted to have the pros tackle this capacitor replacement. Pete was gracious about understanding that we would likely opt to DIY the thermostat replacement but we booked Parker/Pete to install the correct capacitor. Two weeks later (our request, not their delay), he was again on time and respectful, replacing the wrongly-installed capacitor. We liked the many before/after-photos (which most companies do now) because that enables us to be sure they are actually troubleshooting our unit and also enables us to compare the photos to past/technician's photos. Thanks to Yelp/Google/etc, transparency regarding repairs and honesty regarding pricing has become THE most important quality for any repair company nowadays and can sink/swim them overnight. I thought my tub faucet was leaking, so because Parker and Son's has been so great for different jobs, of course I called them, Donald was the plumber-guy, so he came in, woth shoe covers took a look at my tub's faucet , took a look at my shower and taught me why it was leaking, no parts needed, no charge, but now I know and NO LEAK !
