Shibata checked my eyes today. I came in because I got something in my eyes several days earlier that has caused my eyes to be very irritated. It has also negatively affected my vision considerably. After examining my eyes, Shibata stated that my vision has diminished considerably in one eye (duh !!! That's why I came in. The eye that got something in it !!!). I agreed with him and AGAIN stated that it began the day after I got something in my eye that caused severe stinging, burning and vision impairment. His response.... "But you really didn't get anything in your eye." .....WTF !!!! I guess he thinks I'm to ignorant to really know when something actually gets into my eye. Or maybe he thinks he was really there with me when it happened...... !!!! Don't go see them, or let them examine you !! read more

I think it's ridiculous to have to make an appointment to pick up a new pair of glasses. You should be able to walk in and pick them up and get them adjusted if needed without an appointment. Wasn't like that years ago. I moved away for a decade and now it's like this. I'm going to go somewhere else where they are more customer oriented. read more

My wife and I were with them for over 10 years seeing Drs. Czyz or Shibata. I've never had anything but a good experience with them until recently. When choosing insurance options we verified that All About Eyes is in network with Avesis. After several months, we both wanted to schedule renewals for our contacts and glasses, and the office advised that although they are "in-network", they refuse to accept Avesis for anything but Exams! No contact fittings, no eyeglass lenses, no frames! I asked how can they be "in-network" but not honor that insurance plan (which explicitly COVERS those things) and the office manager refused to explain. "We just don't, you have to go somewhere else that will. We only accept Avesis for exams." Seems kind-of bait-and-switchy... "We accept your plan! Ha ha just kidding". Sad to go elsewhere after 10 years, but the office staff doesn't care so I wont either. read more

Outstanding optometrist, but weird rules about getting into the office for appointments and to pick up glasses. Expect delays and to wait in your car. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT HAVE ELDERLY OR HEAT SENSITIVE PEOPLE with you because they will be in the parking lot in the heat while you wait! All around this is a great experience only for the doctors and the exams but getting into your appointment and coming back to get your glasses, prepare for delays and strange protocols. I have a larger head and they did not have anything that looked good for big faces. Lots of upgrade options had my head spinning. I came in for readers and ended up spending 300+ dollars for things I'm not sure I need Love Dr Shibata and his bedside manner. He is the reason for the 3 stars. Alone he's be a 5 star experience. But my experience in total is negative. Go elsewhere for convenience and service. But come here to get your exams and checkups read more

Most medical providers prescribe based on money and not an individuals needs, and this place is no different. First, they prescribed me eyeglass lenses I did not want. Then, they held my contact lenses prescription hostage and refused to change it when my lifestyle changed (daily use to monthly). They should change their name to 'All About Money". read more

So when you are from out of town and you forget to pack your contacts and you have a copy of your prescription but you only need one lens for one day while you wait for someone at home to send you your box of lenses what do you do!!! Well you go to All About Eyes! I brought in my prescription and they filled my one lens request quickly and professionally. Office staff was super friendly and the price was right! went for a yearly check-up but saw Dr. Amy's husband Tom. Loved him as well. he was great at not only the exam but at helping me try to wean off of an expensive dry eye med. He told me it was worth a shot-but also let me know honestly that if when I come back in a month he sees signs that I really do need to continue-he'd say so. I have gone to this office for over 8 years, despite the longevity of our business with a family of 5 wearing glasses or contacts, when an issue arose it was handled quite poorly. I dropped off my sons glasses for repair and the office staff lost his frames. Not only did they not apologize for their error, the expected me to purchase another pair to replace the ones THEY lost! Had a painful eye issue today. Luckily got in here quick, took my insurances, and didn't wait long. The Doctor was amazing and informative. Wonderful service, friendly staff, thorough exam. Carries designer frames and the staff is very helpful and fun. Dr. Amy was wonderful. Going to the eye doctor is usually a painful experience to me (I have gone to places like Lens Crafters and America's Best) but I found All About Eyes through my insurance and they are right by my house. TERRIBLE customer service and questionable clinical judgement. The Dr and office manager would not supply the prescription for contact lenses after charging for the exam and contact fitting. They refused to order contact lenses for my son per insurance plan. Hours after the exam, the office called and said they are going to "pretend my son was never in" and he should go somewhere else for another exam and to order contacts because they "may not get paid by the insurance company". Prior to and during the exam they verified that they take our insurance plan, but then wanted to charge more than stated on the plan. Our insurance company verified that they are participating providers and should never have done that. SAVE SOME TIME, PATIENCE AND YOUR EYES AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! read more

This place has the worst customer service. I have had two major issues with this place. 1st issue was they broke the frame on my sun glasses. I was having new lenses put in them and they got broken. The staff told me that they were old and that this just happens. Not a break on new frames or an oppolgy was offered. 2nd issue was my spouses glasses. The expensive frames she bought from them broke within the first six months. I took them back and they sent them in for repair. Got the glasses back two weeks later and they broke in the same place, within a month. Took the glasses back and was told that my wife had abused the glasses and their was nothing they could do. Sorry that's not true, they said they could fix them for around two hundred dollars. My wife is the most careful person with her glasses and for them to say otherwise was a lie. 0 -- that would be the number of stars this place deserves. I went there to support a local business, what a giant mistake. I have VSP vision insurance. This place accepts VSP...you'd think a bonus, right? No, biggest mistake I have ever made in all my nearly 50 years of wearing eyeglasses. Pros: The front office people are awesome. CONS: Everything else. The selection is less than the one found at Walmart. The quality of frames is low end all the way, unless you can afford the exorbitant upcharge for the name brand frames. BAD Experience: The sunglasses I purchased were defective. Within one week, the finish on the lenses began to crackle and fall off. The frames themselves were of such poor quality (although pricing would indicate otherwise) that they felt horrible on my face. I brought the defective product back asking for a refund. Their policy: No Returns. No Exceptions. No matter if the product is defective. So, they tell me they will order new lenses and replace...to my dismay, I take my defective glasses and go on my way ... which just happens to be a 17-day cruise. What happens? The very first day...the nose piece falls off and is lost...I cannot use the glasses again. These glasses are only two weeks old at this point!! I have glasses that are older than the doctor that are still in one piece! Now, don't let me get going on the quality of the progressive lens eye wear! Oh, ok...let me!!! First, let me say that I have been wearing progressive lenses for as many years as they have been available! I purchased the highest end offered. When I drive I have to move the glasses up and down on my nose and "crane" my neck constantly in order to remain in focus. When I work at my computer, I have to tilt my head back and forth constantly to keep in focus. This has never happened with any progressive lenses I have ever owned or experienced. The decision to NOT give me a refund for a defective product came from the business partner and optometrist. The decision to never return to this business comes from the customer. The decision to tell this story to every person who will listen comes from the customer scorned. The decision to share this story on Facebook and Twitter comes from the customer scorned. read more

The doctors are good, but the office staff are rude and unprofessional. They were running 45 min to an hour behind and didn't give me a courtesy call to let me know. I was driving 40 min for this appoint and to not let me know is not professional. When I approached the lady at the office to tell her that she should have let me know they were running that far behind her comment to me was that I need to talk to the doctor about this. I told her she was the office staff and in charge of appointments and she looked at me and said, "Oh, Yes! You are right". What? I have also been trying to get an appoint to see the doctor because my new contacts were not fitting on my eye correctly. Because I was requesting an appoint past the time allowed they wanted to charge me. Getting my prescription and contact fitting correctly should be included in the cost of an eye exam. read more

I love the staff at this location and the Dr.s ! It is a great neighborhood eye care! They definitely go out of their way... Shelly looked up my insurance benefits and called me before I even returned home.. The Dr.s worked with us to get a great fit of both me and my son's contacts. Don't think about going here, noooo, don't do it. Both my husband and I had problems with the staff at this office. First they damaged the frames of my husband's glasses when they replaced the lenses. They blamed him for this. I had already scheduled an appointment, but this should have been a good reason for me to cancel it. My fault. I bought a very expensive titanium frame. I was assured that these were virtually unbreakable. After owning these for a couple of months, the earpiece became disconnected due to a flaw in manufacturing. I brought them in for repair and they supposedly repaired. A few weeks later the same thing happened. Only this time they told me it was my fault. I was careless and neglectful. My glasses are never set down anywhere without being in a case first. After spending $1000 on progressive lenses with all the best materials and filtering available, why would I not be extra careful. Too bad for me. They lied that they weren't under any warranty. I only bought them a few months ago. What???? read more
