The service was amazing ambiance simple but clean. The food I had a 1/2 lb of the pulled pork and 1/2 brisket. I didn't care for the brisket to me it was dry and the bark wasn't really a stand alone bark. The pulled pork was average. I also tried their Mac and cheese it was more creamy than cheesy and that's not my preference. NOW the star of the show is the au gratin potatoes these were 10/10! The BBQ sauce options I chose were apple and hot neither was there an apple hint nor was there spice in the spicy these sauces are similar and very sweet. Some people may enjoy that. read more

The food was generally . . . fine. The fried okra was the best thing we ate. The pork was ok but nothing remarkable as were the fried pickles and the coleslaw. What was appallingly bad was the lack of warmth, pleasantries, helpfulness, and general customer service! The gal behind the counter couldn't be bothered to come out to the counter to take our order for 5 minutes when we gave up and rang the bell to get someone's attention! When she did show up she appeared looking disheveled and bothered by our presence. She greeted us with "What do you want?" and no eye contact. When we hesitated and told her we had never been in before, she said "You can have pork, brisket, . . . " and then "What do you want?" again. When we ordered the pork sandwiches, she snapped "Side?" When I turned to look at the chalkboard menu for my options, she snapped "What side do you want?!" This gal was rude, hostile, and is costing the owner business. I know that because my family won't be back - ever. I've never given a business a single star. I do realize we all have bad days and she was having one. She apparently doesn't like people and doesn't like her job. And, she certainly didn't leave a good impression on my first visit to Fort Morgan. Wow. Great Yelp find here. Stopped en route between Denver and Omaha, totally awesome. I had Bourbon Pulled Pork, Beef Brisket, Mac n cheese, and spicy baked beans. All homemade, all delicious. When we arrived the clerk was on the phone, she held up her hand and said just a minute then walked into the kitchen. After 5 minutes she came back ( scratching her leg below the gym shorts and baggy T-shirt that looked like she'd slept in) still on the phone and continued her conversation for another 3 minutes. He ordered the double brisket and regular coleslaw. The brisket was OKAY but not great and dry. the chicken sandwich was DRY and just a bunch of small pieces which kept falling apart outings . I had to soak it bbq sauce so I wouldn't choke on it swallowing. Both coleslaws were not great, lacking flavour I am not sure how they got 5 star ratings (which is why we stopped there) but based on the absolutely deplorable customer service, and sub-par food. Stopped in for lunch today during a long drive. We each had the pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw and baked beans. Sandwich was excellent along with a great apple BBQ sauce that complemented the meat so well. Sides were not winners for us; I prefer "traditional" baked beans; these appear to be pinto beans with some smoked meats, spices and sauce. Cole slaw was vinegar based and seemed to be on the bland side for our taste. That said, it's a matter of personal taste. Service was very good by a helpful woman. Clean dining room and bathrooms. Very good ribs. It was hit or miss with the side dishes. The beans were excellent with a lot of meat in them. We didn't care for the potato salad, which had runny dressing, or the rather bland 'Hawaiian' Cole slaw. Still, the meat was served quickly and hot and had a great bark on the outside, while being tender, fall off the bone inside. Only soft drinks served, which is a let down for a BBQ joint. But it is clean inside and the people are nice. You can get a comfortable booth if it isn't too busy. Lots of choices with condiments (I especially liked the spicy BBQ sauce). Food is served in Styrofoam boxes with plastic dinner ware. I will definitely return to try their other fare. read more
