We walked in to a restaurant filled with smoke and the smell of grease (?) burning. We really had to get to the restroom, so we decided to brave it. The ladies restroom was absolutely filthy: toilet paper on one seat, and a month's worth of bacteria in the other toilet. I looked around at the floors, looked around the dining area, and told my husband we are leaving. If I could leave a 0 star review of this place, I would do it. Stopped at this Dairy Queen as we were passing through. Ordered a banana split, but when I got out to my car and went to eat it, I noticed it looked weird because it was so sloppily put together, but more importantly some of the banana pieces were slightly brown. I moved the whipped cream away from the banana pieces only to discover the insides of the bananas were a little brown too. I took photos and threw it away before getting back on the road. Very rude staff. Young teen named "Kayla" told me what I ordered which was not what I ordered. She was very rude. Other young kid,male grabbed my incorrect order and throw it in the trash can. Once she corrected the order they made myself along with car after car wait in the parking lot to get food and ice cream. All while food getting cold and ice cream melting. Ice cream cups were very messy. Also noticed that she also turned her back on the window when she was not speaking with customers. Very unprofessional and bad customer service. I don't know how this restaurant gets away with carrying the brand name of DQ without getting fired by the corporate office. Their Mr Freeze machine has been broken for months and months. The cashier looked like she went out back for a smoke break and then came right back in without washing her hands and started making ice cream orders. Her dirty car keys were still laying on the counter. In fact, it doesn't look like their staff washes their uniforms between shifts. We just stopped there for an ice cream treat on our way back to Denver and we had horrible customer service and blizzards. The people working behind the counter were more concerned about their gossiping and personal conversations then helping us. I also ordered twist ice cream in my blizzard and they gave us Twix. I don't know if I should give them five stars for giving me a bunch of free food, or one star for the raunchy employees sitting around gossiping and staring at their phones. I only saw one woman actually working her ass off! The one with the owl tattoo. She was doing everyone's job. She was cleaning tables, windows, mopping, and helping the broad at the register. I mean that girl needed a lot of help. She got our order wrong three times. She only charged us half (that's where the stars came from) and gave us double. She kept scratching her head and playing with the cute little cholo pretending to sweep. The food was decent. I had never been to a DQ before. It's better than McDonald's or Jack in the Box. I had the grilled chicken salad. It was filling and hearty. Maybe it was a bad time, but I noticed the trend in the neighborhood is poor service. Just stopped in to get my favorite DQ ice cream treat. Very slow at 1pm. With only one car ahead of me to order I expected a speedy stop. No. It took a good 10 minutes from that point just to give my order then another 15 to receive my order. I don't know where the hold up was, but it was not the person making my medium turtle pecan cluster blizzard. They must have made it as soon as I placed my order because by the time I received it it was completely melted - and I mean completely. When the young man behind the window handed it to me he had this look on his face like, "Is he going to notice that I'm not turning this upside down for a reason??" Well, I did notice, but I just shook my head in disappointment and accepted the blizzard fail. Also, when I finished drinking my Blizzard I reached for the Coke I had ordered, no ice. Pathetic, but I t was my own fault. I should have believed all the 1 Star reviews. I don't give many negative reviews, especially in small towns, but the long wait, melted blizzard and warm drink are so far below DQ standards that for the sake of the time-honored DQ brand, I felt I needed to speak up. They were over staffed, so you would expect good service. Service was poor at best. They took your order and told you when it was ready so you could come and get it. So they could continue talking with their co workers. There was a big old cockroach on the floor alive. It made you not want to eat inside. They took the order wrong. First it took 10 minutes of waiting to place our order even though we were the only ones there. Then when we pulled up the employees got into a huge fight, threatening to hit each other. We sat for 20 minutes at the drive through window after paying waiting to get our food (finally had to walk inside and ask if they forgot about our order). We then watched them handle the trash, touch their hair repeatedly, and do other things hat did not seem sanitary before handling our food without gloves and without washing them. Went to give my children a great for helping out for the day, got the order and the number sat the kids down just to see 4 other families come in after we did. All of them got theirs and we were still waiting so I went up to the counter n asked about it. The gal didn't answer me just started to get the ice cream started. I got frustrated and went to sit back down, but thought I shouldn't have waited an hour for just ice cream just to get treated badly. The employees were mostly all sitting down but 2 people trying to run the entire place. New people bought the place today so we will see. Very dirty and just kids running it. The food is not bad typical Dairy Queen. The service is kind of slow. The Urinal in the Mens bathroom is meant for men 6 foot tall or better. Good luck if you are a child under 5 foot. The lamps hang way to low. Banged my head on one. My daughter holding my granddaughter hit her head on one. Do not eat at Dairy Queen. My husband and I ate there tonight. My husband had the #5 and I had a cheeseburger with onions rings. The hamburger meat was extremely overcooked and very, very dry. When it was time to swallow you had to take a drink of pop just to wash it down. It was as if the hamburgers were cooked early this morning and reheated when we placed our order. Why I decided to try this place again is beyond me. I take blame for even coming here. It has changed since my last visit, it is now worse than before. Old and cold fries, slow service (15 minutes for a kids meal). The staff was busy flirting and messing around with their friends, which they took back into the kitchen. My favorite part was the staff member cussing at other friends in front of my children. Take it from a local, skip this place, it is not good. I did ask where the manager was, I guess the manager was down the basement doing something, great place to be during the lunch hour on a Friday.
