My mini van died today on my way to work, over on Russell, the overpass over the 113. It was scary because there isn't really a shoulder there, and the car was smoking inside. I called All About Towing, and after a little wait talked to Mark who asked where I was, said the fee for weekends is $95, and then headed over. He was there in less than thirty minutes, which was impressive I thought for a Sunday morning. Mark was very kind and considerate, even reminding my frazzled self that I'd left food on my seat and should probably grab it before he lifted the van up. He was courteous and opened the door for me, and chatted which helped ease my nerves. I'm new to Davis and he helped me find a reliable mechanic and talked me through the drop off weekend system. I wish I could give ten stars, because after all the kindness and courtesy, Mark really went above and beyond and drove me all the way across town to my work. He talked with me the whole way, which helped settle my nerves after the stressful morning/year I've been having. My car was towed unbeknownst to me, and when I called to confirm that this was the company who had towed my car and to ask questions about why and when it was towed, a lady answered who said she would transfer me to someone else to answer those "specific" questions. Waited 30+ minutes on hold for no answer. I called back, a different lady answered who told me the same thing... Said she couldnt give specific answers, and then disconnected the call. I called multiple times afterwards (besides my other questions I still wanted to know if they were OPEN because it was a holiday weekend and they never told me WHEN and where exactly I could go pick up my car) and they IGNORED all of my following calls. I finally called one last time at the end of the day (11pm) and FINALLY some guy answers and tells me that they have my car there and I could have picked it up at any time, but if I pick it up after midnight they add on a fee (a fee gets added for each day it is "stored" outside). Terrible stressful experience. The place at night looks dingy and creepy and the only positive side to this is when I finally get there my car was undamaged and they took photos of the car before it was towed which FINALLY answered my questions I had from earlier that day. My All About Towing, experience with them has been some what questionable. First, yes my car was parked in a not assigned parking place, and was picked up a little after mid night. I picked it up at 10, am from that same day. I paid $297. It hurt me, but I accept the fee, because I did parked in an area I shouldn't have. 2nd time, my car AGAIN got towed away, within 30min of me noticing it went missing. I called the all about towing , spoke with a woman, whom then transfer me to a man confirming that my was with them. By this time it was 10:45pm, car was picked up 10: pm I was told. I was put on hold, then talked to an employee who said, he would be at the office in a couple of hours, then I could pick my car. I arrived at the towing place at 10:50pm, thinking, once I get there, i can pick it up my car, since it was not more than an hour that it got picked up, it should not be more than last time's fees Right....... well to my surprise it was more!!! $415. For being "after working hours " I told the man, you just picked it up not even an hour ago, he said, pointing at the wall, these are the rules, these are the fees. Well of course it is going to be after working hours, because you picked up after working hours!!! Oh by the way, he said tomorrow being a holiday, i CAN'T pick it up, it would have to wait for Tuesday, I asked why,? For more money?!?? He said no, it'll be $405, if i picked up by Tue. Wwwhat!!??!! I said, so it'll be less $10. If I het Tue, but if I het it Monday labor day it be more. I'm sure you do a good service when people are needing for you to tow their vehicle away, but when you tow vehicles from apartments., you have totally different rules. If you tow a vehicle at 10pm, this is consider after working hours for whom? The 9-5 working people? How about the people who work nights, like your crew, that is working hours. They are working?!? Right!!! I'm a single mom, working pay check to pay check, and I'm not trying to get sympathy, because, I'm healthy, strong, and God provides, but what I'm trying to say is that, what you are charging for a vehicle that has been stored for less than an hour, please be reasonable with the fees. I waited at your parking place from 10:55 - 11:30... when an employee called me to tell me, i can go pick up my car. But when he told me that it would be $415. I lost it, and if course started to raise my voice, and end up with me leaving my car there, now I have to borrow money to get it out, and then pay this person until my next pay check. I needed that because was broke down on the freeway in a dangerous spot with 7 children in my Van. My car died on me at 11 PM in the middle of nowhere in Davis. This was perhaps the worst case to be in because at this particular time and place, not even my insurance could provide any help (thank you for taking all of my money every month, AND yet charging twice the average price listed on google for a simple towing service). I highkey was in the biggest panic of my life, because as an international student, I honestly did not have much car accident experiences, and you all probably heard about those scammer towing service that charges you you couple thousands dollar for one tow trip ? Yeah ? Well **** , I am glad I didn't lose any thousand $ towing my car tonight, and even saved a hundred or so (if I were to compare with the price my insurance offered). John showed up within 20-25 minutes. That was REALLY FAST given the odd time and place my car decided to die on. And since it was my first time, I was fully prepared to have it towed back to my apartment and tow it back to my dealership tomorrow just because I really don't want to drop my car anywhere that I don't know about. But John went above and beyond to let me know I could just drop at my car at the dealership, fill a form, drop my key (which was something I did not know about), saved my money from a second tow trip , AND EVEN helped me get all the procedure filled + done right when he didn't have to. It was 12 AM at this point and that was really nice of him to give me his full honest suggestion instead of milking more money from a student. That was very kind of John and kindness is something you don't get to see too often nowadays. But honestly, if your car ever die + You don't know who to call or what to do next + You want to save money + You don't want to be ripped off. Just pick up your phone and call this place. My son, while turning from a county road onto a gravel road, got his right front wheel down into the ditch that ran next to the county road. I called All About Towing for help. Their receptionist, Raina (sp?) was very helpful, took my information and said they would have someone out soon. It's hilarious to see how often the manager has to respond to reviews that actually shed light to the operations of this company. The company sends its employees to apartments to find cars to tow. I guess they really need the money because they charge the maximum fee that they're allowed to charge as a towing company, as well as apply every single fee that they can to stay alive. I totally understand towing cars that are reported by a resident who needs the space. But going to an apartment to search these vehicles out, especially when no requests have been made, is like a police officer putting a speed radar gun on every single car to make sure they're not even 1 mile above the speed limit. It's predatory and wrong. But these guys have been doing it forever, so their ego will prevent them from changing. They also don't wear masks or practice social distancing, so glad to know how little they care about public safety! read more

If I could choose NO stars, I would. This company charged my daughter $260.00 to NOT tow her car at her place of residence. Where she lives!!! She explained that she has not been issued a parking permit at her complex because management requested a copy of her license. She renewed her license online through the DMV several months ago, gave them the receipt, but due to COVID delays, has not received her actual card yet. SHAME on the complex for not issuing a permit, but even worse, this company's driver had the evidence in front of him, and still charged her $260 for NOTHING, and threatened to tow her car if she didn't pay, despite her letting him know she would move her car back out onto the street. She rarely ever parks inside her complex unless she has to bring in groceries, and this guy charged a student on an extremely tight budget, knowing full well she had every right to park there temporarily, during a pandemic, knowing incomes are already extremely limited. TERRIBLE lack of service and a disgusting way to extort money. Unacceptable and will be filing a complaint with BBB. read more

Called multiple times and the reason was that they were behind on schedule. Talked with Brian who I asked one question and he gave me a total opposite answer of what I asked. Finally around 9 pm tow truck show up. I waited more than four 4hrs to get picked up. I wish they would have been honest with me at front and told me that it would take over 4hrs.
