We were so relieved to find All American Eye Glass Repair. On Amazon, we purchased Meta glasses which can read to you, but we purchased them with just glass lenses. My husband needed to have "cheater's lenses" installed to be able to at least read the headlines. So, on-line, we ordered 2.5 magnification lenses. All of the videos showed how easy it is to install the lenses--but not for us. I called Lens Crafter. They would only install them if the lenses were purchased from them. I then realized that I needed to call a shop that repairs glasses. The first place I contacted in Tucson wanted a lot of money. I then spoke with Mark at All American Eye Glass Repair who quoted me a reasonable price. We took the glasses to his shop, and in less than a minute, he popped out the plain glass and insert the "cheaters". Thanks to Mark, who was very helpful, the Meta glasses are now usable. read more

Wow. He's an artist. I took my glasses to an optical to get the frame adjusted. She broke the nosepiece off. :( She referred me to this business. (Yes, she paid for the repair.) Look at the photo. Can you tell where he soldered it back on? Hardly can tell. Plus he was done with it when he said he would. Five stars all the way. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. Parking is in the back of the building. The screws came out of my prescription sunglasses and I was having some trouble getting them in. I passed this place one evening and made a stop around 5:30 PM. I was told I needed two screws and they were able to fix it while I waited. Friendly, Very informative. Fast work. This guy definitely knows his craft and I can't complain about the quality of his repairs. What I can say is that he's crazy overpriced. He was going to charge me $50 to replace a screw that was backing out. Of course that's because he had diagnosed a handful of other issues that he was going to fix as well. But I mostly think he was bringing up these other things to justify the insane price. I say so because he said stuff that was salesman-esque and quite clearly designed to justify the price such as, "I use self-tapping steel screws". The puzzle piece robot behind the counter is programmed to tell you that all of the replaceable items on your glasses are "shot". In fact they need to be replaced "every six months". LOL! So the first price quote that you'll hear is for the simple repair that you came in for + all the extra nickel and dime stuff that he's been trained to try and tack on. I started to walk out at this point. Then he comes back with a lower amount just for the original issue. I would've gladly spent the second amount quoted simply out of convenience, but I refuse to play games with "shrewd merchants" and their hacky up-sale tactics. This isn't the 1950s. I brought an unusual problem to All American Eyeglass Repair -- I had a pair of vintage reading glasses with broken temples (I had tried repairing them with super glue and heat-shrink tubing) plus another pair of plain glass glasses with perfect temples, both by the same manufacturer. I do not recommend this business. I left my glasses there with Mark to be repaired and came back in an hour and there a bad scrape on one of the lenses that was not there before. Mark denied doing it. He said I had signed the form that said there were scratches. Any glasses have that have been worn for awhile have very fine scratches that can't be seen when they are worn. What he did was not a scratch, it was a bad scrape at the bottom of the lens and the edge of the lens was rough. He kept saying I had signed the form. He said he would have his manager call me but that the manager would tell me the same thing. The manager has not called me. He refused to give me the manager's number and he refused to give me the name of the owner. Don't leave expensive glasses here. They are not honest. read more
