I hired All Aspects to conduct the inspection on the home I had recently put an offer on in September 2020. Tom was extremely friendly and professional when speaking to him on the phone, and was prompt on his arrival on the day of the inspection. Even though this was my first home purchase, I have family in the real estate business for over 40 years. I've known some inspectors overs the years and had an idea of what to expect. ...Well, actually, I did not! Tom's attention to detail during the inspection blew my mind. He looked over EVERYTHING. He made sure I was close by as he moved throughout the house, and took time to explain to me what different things meant. For example, showing me where the water main cutoff was in our basement in case of a leak or other event that we'd need to shut off the main. I am so thankful for how thorough the whole process was. After a couple of hours, we wrapped up, and I couldn't have been more confident moving forward and buying this home. I don't write a lot of reviews for Yelp. However, I have recently used All Aspects Home Inspection to inspect, as a seller, a condo in Manhattan and a property in Nassau County. The company did such an excellent job. They gave me an ongoing verbal report during the process, and followed up with an extremely detailed written report supported by multiple photographs with arrows pointing to problem areas. The work was impeccable. Yet, when I came to Yelp to write a review, I can only say I was horrified that Yelp is saw it fitting to publish a single star, extremely negative review of the company's services. I followed the arrow to see three reviews that gave the company five stars, and wrote about their reasons in detail. I literally do not understand why the excellent reviews were discounted while the single negative review was highlighted. My experience with using Yelp has been that when there is only a single negative review, I make the assumption that it was one disgruntled customer, possibly one who could not ever be satisfied. My experience was similar to the "discounted reviews." Obviously I hold the company in quite high regard since I hired them twice. Furthermore, and almost as important, is the fact that Mr. Walsh, the owner, has recommended a number of people in the building trade and real estate industry who have been life-savers. I personally could not have found these people and it is because Mr. Walsh recommended them that I knew I would get excellent service and a good price from them as well. I did. I am concerned that because it will be so incredibly positive,and because I am a relative newbie to writing reviews, that will once again this review of the company will be discounted. I want Yelp to realize that this is a review by a live person, with live experience, and I think that their automated discounting software needs a rewrite. Indeed, it is All Aspects report that helped me prepare the condo for sale in an efficient, economical manner that I believe helped it to sell within 20 minutes of our first open house. We have utilized All Aspects on three separate occasions in the past four years. Each time, we have had a stellar experience. I would even go as far to say that Tom's inspection once saved us from purchasing a home that likely had more trouble than could be seen by the naked eye. There is a lot to be said for the thoroughness of All Aspect's final inspection report - not only does it detail out items that could be concerns, but also provides very specific information about different types of construction materials (walls, roof types, etc) that can be very helpful to anyone buying home, along with recommendations for additional services the buyer may want to explore prior to purchasing, or once the purchase is complete. The service is prompt, documents and reports sent quickly. It is important to remember that a home inspection is mostly visual and where concerns are raised, the buyer should always engage other specialist where needed. In my opinion, not all home inspectors have the experience that the team at All Aspects have, and it can be difficult to find someone you can trust. Buying a condo or a home can be one of the most stressful and daunting of all life experiences - working with All Aspects helped us to feel comfortable about our decisions, highlighted the issues in the home we needed to focus on once we moved in, and gave us peace of mind for our investment. We hope we won't be moving again for a while, but if we do, All Aspects will be the first number I dial when the process begins. read more

We used All Aspects for our 1st home inspection. As eager first-time home buyers, we walked the house with Kevin and asked all the right questions, including the two biggies: whether there were signs of termites (which we've now discovered live termites in the foundation but All Aspects would not have seen this as it was covered up nicely by the previous homeowners), as well as how the roof condition looked. He said the roof "looks good" and specifically told us that he didn't need to go out on the roof to inspect. Almost one year into the house, we have had interior wall damage all the way to the basement structural beams from a leaky roof and will likely be dealing with a lot more if we don't replace the ENTIRE roof. The report makes no check mark in the box next to "Roof repairs noted..." "Cracking." "Lifting." "Multi-layered roofing shingles/materials" "- ALL of which were noted from various roof contractors without having to step on the roof and or simply visible from the attic windows and property grounds. The report does say "Due to safety and roof damage concerns, this roof inspection has been conducted either from the ground or from windows that look out onto roof surfaces." as well as, "Roofs are not walked to avoid causing damage. They are visually inspected with binoculars. Inspection is limited.", all of which to cover the 'Company' from any legal recourse from their Clients. Be that as it may, we would expect an 18 year old home inspection company to do a thorough and complete inspection to find these flaws, even if it is "only visible at the time of inspection." I would not recommend using them at all and would recommend vetting other more reputable home inspectors prior to hiring anyone to inspect your potential new home. Had we known these issues, we would have negotiated with a stronger hand. We would hope that any home inspector you use is a partner, with integrity, in your home-buying process, to go above and beyond, and not just out to do the job but to do the job RIGHT. read more

Tom was very nice and super thorough. He was very open and encouraging of me shadowing him. He answered all my questions with confidence. I really enjoyed the home inspection, and am very glad I chose All Aspects Home Inspections. The report is incredibly thorough and very helpful. It includes pictures, a detailed form with all issues, comments and descriptions, and recommendations and qualifications of the severity of the issues. I am so happy we found All Aspect Home Inspections! As first time home buyers there were a lot of decisions that we had to make, from the right realtor to the right mortgage company. When push comes to shove, no one is able to give you details on your future home the way that a Home Inspector can. My Husband and I recently bid on a house, and our Realtor recommended we get the Inspection done quickly, as there were many buyers looking at the house. We called All Aspects and made arrangements to have Kevin Walsh meet us at the house the very next day! My husband and I arrived early to check out the neighborhood, and to our delight Kevin arrived early as well! He took the time with us, before our scheduled appointment with the sellers, to talk about what he would be looking for and he answered any preliminary questions we had. As Kevin walked around the house he took a lot of photos and was very patient explaining to us what he was looking at, and where he had concerns. When he found termite damage, he was even able to recommend a termite company for us to follow up with! Everything that he found was outlined in a detailed report (with color photos!) that we received via email the next day. A hard copy was also sent to our home shortly after. The report was thorough and very easy to understand. Kevin even highlighted the recommendations that he made. We have our final walk through in just a few short weeks. Kevin has agreed to meet us at the home again, to make sure everything is still in working order, and the necessary repairs have been made! Tom and Kevin performed the inspection on the home my wife and I are planning to buy. Throughout the whole process, both Tom and Kevin made sure to bring my attention to any items that required immediate address. Soon after, Tom emailed me an electronic copy of his inspection report, which was filed by an 80+ page hardcopy that he mailed to my address. The report contained color photos, tons of information, and a list of the items in the house that required immediate attention. Although this is my first time being a part of a home inspection, I can't imagine having a better experience with any other home inspection company. I used All Aspects (Tom) for the home inspection of the house that I purchased in Riverhead. I was concerned about purchasing such an old home (1920's) and wanted a thorough inspection. As an attorney who handles real estate closings, I was familiar with Tom's work from prior clients who had employed his services. I always appreciated the thoroughness of his reports. When it was time for me to select a home inspector, I knew who to call, but was concerned he wouldn't service the east end of LI. Fortunately, he did! I guess I have to give one star, so let's say I gave it because the inspector was very nice personally. I was incredibly unhappy with their work, however. They did a pre-purchase apartment inspection for me on a new build and missed two issues in the bathroom that although small, I ended up paying for myself. I also recently discovered that while they pointed out moisture from a leak that the developer had already fixed, they failed to mention small moisture rings on the walls around the apartment that suggest a larger and more disturbing problem. These are the sort of issues that I pay an inspector to catch and if they fail to do that, what's the point? Beyond that, I found Tom's response to my complaint about the moisture problem to be evasive at best, since he used the leak that he did catch to suggest that he had pointed out all the other ones, which he neither mentioned at the time nor pictured and put in his report. read more

We recently used All Aspects for a house inspection we were considering for purchase. I arrived on time and Tom was already busy inspecting the exterior of the house! We went thru in meticulous detail the exterior, every nook and cranny of each room, the wiring, plumbing and he identified several "red flags" which made us reconsider the purchase. In discussing the details with Tom, I learned a great deal about what to look for in older houses. I really felt a partnership with Tom as his guidance was truly professional and direct. We ultimately passed on the house mainly due to his inspection report (which was over 75 pages with detailed commentary and tons of photos). We are going to use Tom shortly again as we are close in selecting another home for purchase consideration. I strong recommend All Aspects due to Tom's professionalism, obvious knowledge and experience and a sense of confidence that the inspection will be done accurately and in everyone's best interest. read more
