Absolutely would not recommend this inspection company to ANYONE. Michael came to my co-op and did not notice a HUGE CRACK in the corner of the walls in my dining room that is now a potential structural issue. (The beam is horizontal so the crack extended my whole wall) At the time of inspection, he was polite and personable. However, after I closed on my place and RELIED on his professional opinion and then told him that there are all these issues all he could say is "too bad, I didn't take clear pictures of that area at the time of inspection so it's not my fault". Are you serious? He did not even try to accommodate when clearly it is a 9-FOOT CRACK in my ceiling and he did not catch it at the time of inspection!! I am not a professional and this was my first time buying a home so I do admit I could've looked closer as well but the reason why I hired an inspector in the first place was to rely on his expertise and experience in this field. We were referred to Dennis Home Inspection by our realtor from Triplemint, but do want to write a review because it can be difficult during the pandemic to ask for a home inspection! The transition for our realtor to our Michael, our home inspector, was seamless and hands-off-- allowing us to not worry too much about the ins and outs of everything going on. Because we were inspecting a condo unit and he was the only one allowed in, Michael was very transparent about the project: he sent the contract for us to sign ASAP, made sure that we knew what we were getting into through this process, texted and called us to explain how his process worked, and then video chatted with us to go through his finding after he documented what he needed to. He also uses thermal cameras to be able to be thorough in his inspections and gives us time to ask any questions and to go through his findings. Michael was great! He arrived early to the inspection (unfortunately I was late due to extreme traffic jam) and while he waited for is he did some surveillance outside. Once we arrived he went through the house with us starting from the outside and worked our way in through all the floors. He was thorough and answered all our questions to the best of his ability and if he couldn't he would make recommendations where we can find the answers or who we should consult. I used this Inspection company because my brother, and my friends had used them and I saw first hand how thorough they are. My inspection was done by Michael he arrived an hour early and had already done preliminary work. He took the time to explain all the issues he found, and answer all our concerns. He suspected termites and quickly found evidence of them in our crawl space. He gave us estimates on how long the appliances, boiler, central air, roof etc would last as well as estimates on how much it should cost to replace them. Buying a home for the first time is a scary process and Michael patiently answered every question I had about the house. We had our house inspection with Dennis earlier this week. He was very professional, patient, and knowledgeable about everything house-related. He answered all the questions we had for him (which was a lot!) and speculated EVERY nook and cranny in the house. He checked for termites, leakages, and even found problems with the house that we wouldn't have noticed was even a problem (for example, the lead water pipe in the house). Since there was no way up the roof, he even whipped out his ladder and climbed all the way up so he could inspect it. He was so, so thorough and spent 2 hours plus looking at our house. We received a super detailed report with pictures only 2 days after the inspection--our inspection was on Monday and we got our report on Wednesday through email.
