Seriously amazing food and very culturally correct. My wife and I had our honeymoon in Jamaica and this is probably the closest thing we got to the island. Was looking for some yummy and well seasoned food while on a family getaway. Wow this place did not disappoint. Props the the young lady at the counter. Very sweet and gave me some samples of the food they offered. The oxtail was stupendous, great flavors and the meat was very tender. The jerk chicken was also amazing, a tad spicier than I am accustomed to, but superb in taste. Portion was generous. Rice and cabbage was offered with the protein. I travel from New York just to get this. Literally the best jerk chicken I have ever tasted. The spice can get you sometimes, but nothing that a sip of water can't help with. I have dreams of the chicken and typing this is making me hungry just thinking of the experience. I usually order a large to share and because I'm so greedy. I also get the patties if it's available. Make sure to call to pick up the food, sometimes it's not readily available because they're still making it. This place is strictly take out and the place is too small to consider otherwise. The counter service is superb. She provided us with a few samples as it was our first visit. It is take out only... and it is rather hidden between the Dollar General and Coin Laundry. Myself and the Wife ate here looking for better places to eat in the Poconos while on vacation. She wanted curry chicken, I wanted jerked chicken. We ordered both. It's not a sit in restaurant just take out. Arent most places thought? . Both dishes had good flavor with rice peas cabbage and fried plantains. Being from Philly we have plenty of Caribbean stores to choose from. We enjoyed the food a bit pricey for a large(medium in Philly)but the flavor and location made it worth it. This is a must-to-go place if you are around the poconos. The lady selling the food was really really nice and friendly, she let us try samples from any food we were thinking about. We got a small chicken curry and a small beef short ribs and they were all delicious, meat was soft and tender, sauce was flavorful. There is a ton of meat for the price, probably the best and cheapest meal I had in this area. The lady also offered us free cokes because it was our first time there. Amazing food. Whenever we come to the Poconos we always have to get the oxtail here! It's so rich and flavorful, and the rice is always amazing too. You get a ton of food with your order (like 5 oxtails or 4 pieces of chicken in a box). My only complaint is that I would've liked more plantain. I'll remember to request it next time. Tip: call your order ahead. When I walked in to order they had just run out of jerk chicken. If you're going to Long Pond, PA you have to try this. Very fresh and very tasty. Serving of small was good for me and my husband. We also had the fried dumpling. You have to eat it while it's hot to enjoy the crunch. We're going back there and try more food in the menu. read more

Excellent dinner. I had the shredded pork with rice and plantains. My son had the half chicken, which he ate to the bone. We will definitely be back. Very authentic. We were staying in the area and this place had great reviews. They offered us samples of a new item that wasn't on the menu yet. I got the large jerk chicken 4 pieces of chicken at least 3 cups of rice and beans and cabbage all done to perfection. So tiny you might miss it, but please don't! It's connected to Coin Laundry, if that helps with location. We got the ox tail meal with cabbage and peas & rice, plus a bake and patty. The woman at the counter was in the middle of making the bakes fresh - rolling the dough and frying them right there and oh wow was it amazing. The ox tail is incredibly tender and flavorful, the plantains are delicious, the peas and rice is served generously and my only complaint about the cabbage is that there wasn't more. The woman was also unbelievably sweet and kind and had a wonderful smile. I will definitely, definitely be back - next time I'll try the goat curry, it smelled heavenly! Just a reminder: this restaurant is take-out only. I had a 20+ minute drive home though and it still tasted amazing! *Came back in May 2017, still just as amazing! They were out of ox tail so she encouraged me to try beef short ribs since they are very similar and even gave me a free sample. SOOOOOO GOOD! The meat fell right off the bone and the flavor was incredible. Super generous portions and the really, really sweet woman was at the counter again. Got here early, ordered jerk chicken but was told wasn't ready yet so she suggested I try the curry chicken. Glad I did, was absolutely sublime. Rice and peas were equally good, the little attention to details is what gets a 5 star rating. Plantains the best I've ever had, fried thin. These dishes came with cabbage , plantains and rice and peas .Both were very good . The portion were huge enough to feed more than two people . We were in the area for a family vacation at GWL and wanted to eat out and try something different. So happy we found this restaurant!! Like everyone else said, don't let the building stop you from ordering and going in. We ordered the jerk chicken, curried chicken and the patties. The food was amazing! The best! It's a hole in the wall. But don't judge it by the cover! Looks can be very deceiving. We ordered a large size of jerk chicken and curry chicken. Jerk chicken was seasoned well (spicy but not too spicy) and the curry chicken was extremely juicy and pulled out very easily. The plantains were ridiculously good oh my god. Amazing food!!!! Had the curried goat and the jerk chicken. The goat was succulent and tender and the chicken was cooked perfectly and not dry at all. Both came with peas and rice which was outstanding as well, and steamed cabbage and plantains. The food has a fairly high level of spice without sacrificing any of the flavor.
