Staying in the area and found this gem, and we're so happy that we did! As soon as we walked in, the servers were so nice and accommodating, helping us to get seated and order. We ordered the pernil and rice platter, the bistec salteado, a shrimp mofongo, a kids chicken tender meal, and a couple pastellios to start. Everything was so flavorful and mostly cooked to order, including the kids meal. The decor is also gorgeous inside, rooted in Puerto Rican and Taino culture. Visiting with a family of 10 as the husband of a wheelchair user. This review is primarily written to highlight the accessibility of the business. We arrived in two separate cars and at first didn't notice where the ramp was, however note that the ramp for this facility is on the other side of the building from where the restaurant is. There were two handicap parking spots right at the base of the ramp (right as you enter the parking lot). Upon entering the facility you are at a counter where you can place your order. When lots of people are there, it can be pretty congested for a wheelchair. There is also a soda cooler and a dessert fridge in the front area. There is a single stall bathroom that is of pretty large side that a wheelchair can fit in with no issues. There were grab bars on the wall in the proper places. There was plenty of space for me to go in and help my wife. In the back of the place there are a handful of tables in a fairly tight space, but my wife was able to wheel her chair in and sit at the end of the table. They set up a smaller table at the end of a larger table to accommodate us all. We tried a variety of food from empinadas (all except the crab were enjoyed by all), mofongo (we had chicken, pork and shrimp), chorizo, plantains in all forms (fried, sauteed, etc). We also had the cheese/corn, yucca, etc. We grabbed the tres leches cake, dulce de leche flan and red velvet cake desserts to take home with us and they were delicious as well. It was a great experience and the vibe was very good for a family dinner out. The waitress we had was fantastic as well. Would highly recommend. read more

Visiting lake harmony, I travel around 1 hr to visit this place, it was showed in yelp and serve Puertorrican food... so we had to go. It was a different place that I use to visit, (not fancy restaurant) but no regrets. First, it surprised me at arrival the smell of food is amazing... I ordered several dishes for me and my family, and sat on the big table ... since everything that we ordered was fresh the wait was ok, that build the excitement and increased the appetite.. at the arrival of the food, the food was hot, you can smell the garlic in the mofongo and the "caldo de pollo" had a great flavor too. La "carne frita" was amazing, crunchy and enough pieces to fill my hunger. el pollo guisado with white rice was well prepared and has a great flavor. Las empanadas de carne also were delicious and crusty, plus the meat was well seasoned too. We drank the official cola champagne and of course Malta India. There was plenty of food that we had to take it with us... . The service was amazing, polite and friendly, you can feel the Boricua hospitality. At the end checking the prices for the amount of people, it was very reasonable. Wow! After reading several wonderful reviews, I decided to visit El Rincon Caribe. The wait staff person was extremely kind and welcoming, and I asked her to surprise me with a dish she thought was worthwhile. In short order, I had an amazing fresh plate of steak and peppers with rice and beans. I am not a steak and peppers fan because the meat has always been a cheap and chewy cut. Not this time. The beef was tender, lean, and delectable. I'm not sure of the seasoning they used, but it was definitely the perfect balance that enriched the flavor of the beef. The rice and beans were equally delicious, thanks to tasty black beans over moist and flawlessly cooked rice. I wanted to put down my fork because I was full, but I couldn't stop. The meal was simply too amazing. Unfortunately, I had no room for their homemade desserts, which included homemade ice cream. When I return next week, I will definitely pounce on one of their after dinner creations! (Great for takeout, they do have a wonderful little dining area in case you'd like to stay a little while longer.) read more

Turns out the mofongo is made with oil instead of butter. The lactard me was super excited! I got the garlic mofongo and it was a huge portion for one person. It was nicely seasoned and not too oily. This fantastic little Puerto Rican restaurant (carryout only at the moment) is such a gem of a find in the Bermuda Triangle of three large resorts, where good food so frequently goes missing. We recently hosted a small get-together for friends and ordered a few platters of food from El Rincon. What we tried was excellent. A platter of Cubanos was happily devoured by our group. The perfectly-toasted, mayonnaise-slathered, pressed bread was very generously stuffed with well-made, flavorful, moist and not-overly-fatty pulled pork, a sliver of deli ham, bit of mustard, and pickle. I'm not sure I detected much, if any, Swiss cheese, but in my book, that didn't negatively affect the flavor profile. The all-important bread texture was unusually excellent for the northeast, just a touch more glutinous than the "Cuban" bread favored in Florida, but not as glutinous as a true baguette, at least not after all the jus soaked into it. Amazingly, the bread remained toasty until the next day, when we ate some of the leftovers for lunch. Bread volume 20%; fillings 80%. The pasteles were very good, with silky, sticky, mostly plantain (and yucca?)-based masa and lots of flavorful filling, which included generous amounts of small-diced pork (shoulder?), a touch of sweet peppers, and a stray green olive here and there. My only nitpick is that the pasteles were boiled in paper, not plantain leaves, so they lacked that particular fragrance I love in my favorite homemade versions. Heavy on the sazon and not wimpy on the salt: great in our book. A basic salad (iceberg, romaine, spinach mix; cucumber; tomato; red onion) could have been forgettable, but was made with such TLC that it was far more than the sum of its parts. Importantly, the kids were all able to pick out vegetable matter they found acceptable. Vegetables were impeccably fresh and attractively presented, and the tomatoes were summer-ripe, a mixture of juicy, large slices and halved, beautiful, multi-colored grape tomatoes. The vinaigrette salad dressing was surprisingly good, almost certainly homemade, without that funky guar gum texture I so dislike in industrially produced versions. I was sad I didn't get to try to delicious-looking / smelling mofongo, which seemed to be popular to judge by the folks with me in line at the restaurant, waiting for their takeout orders. Or the nice looking empanadas and other appetizers / snacks in the case. Given the level of skill present in this kitchen, we can't wait to come back for those. Note on service: Crystal (whose parents own the establishment), was remarkably patient in working with me to iron out the details of our catering order. She could not have been nicer, more helpful, or more responsive. From what I could see of what was happening behind the counter, this restaurant is a well-oiled machine, staffed by super hardworking, gracious, courteous folks. Right now the food is take out only but precovid they have a large dining area you can eat in. There's one small table that you can eat on right outside if you don't want to eat in your car or take home. The food is great. I stumbled across this amazing place that serves authentic Spanish food. I noticed the good reviews so I had to try it out. To no disappointment the food was great. I ordered more then what I came for, it was a Sunday and they had began to start the process of closing down for the night. They didn't have a few things I wanted and I understood it being the end of a busy day and them having great food in a small town. So I'm a frequent customer here and usually the food is good. I've never had a real issue until recently. I received an order that I was unhappy with, the owner told me she would refund me my money, however the day I was suppose to go back for the refund, I was in an accident and was not able come retrieve the refund the day we spoke about. I've called numerous time since then but no answer and no call back. Their voicemail bin is FULL so clearly I can not leave a message. Very disappointing. I use to really love this place. Wonderful experience, we didn't expect so many people in line and the staff to help us with our choices, a family with only a little knowledge of Puerto Rican food and two kid picky eaters! I prefer lighter flakier versions but it wasn't greasy. So I'm wondering if this style was baked and I like that as opposed to everything being fried! Hot tip: ask for things like extra plates, ketchup, napkins when paying. The dining room as clean, inviting, and not crowded. Stopped here on a road trip to NYC: specials are on the board, scan the QR code for a huge menu! We got mofongos with fried pork, chicken empanadas, pernil with Cuban rice and beans and some fresh passion fruit juice. I wish I had room for the amazing-looking desserts.
