Recently brought my anxious 22 month old rescue pittie to this clinic for the first time. She is a very sweet girl but incredibly vocal and jumpy. Almost all of the staff members were immediately welcoming and excited to meet my dog which is refreshing considering pit bulls usually get a bad rap. We waited in our assigned room for nearly half an hour before the appointment truly started, but luckily the exam was thorough and I received multiple resources for training anxious and hyperactive dogs. Scheduled our girl's spay surgery on the way out, with which they were very detailed when explaining each fee for surgery. New client wellness exam for my dog was only $50, so pretty reasonably priced considering the depth of care and advice they provide. I would recommend bringing your fur babies here!! I just had a very bad experience with this veterinarian. It was my first appointment, they told me one time but when I got there they said I was late and wanted to charge me a $45 penalty to see my pet. They also made me wait almost a month for the appointment, even though it was just a checkup and some shots. The receptionist was very rude and it was overall an unpleasant experience. They are also still doing curbside check-in, mandatory masks and all covid protocols even though most other businesses have returned to normal. I would not recommend All Creatures Animal Clinic to anyone. read more

We had our first visit with ACAC yesterday and I am very pleased. This clinic was recommended to me from a colleague whose husband is a veterinarian and he is familiar with the two veterinarians as he used to work with them. During COVID, the clinic is taking appropriate precautions. We called the clinic when we arrived, they were very clear with the plan. They called me back for a history and to address all my concerns, then came out to pick up our cat and his previous records. I had a picture of something I was concerned about and forgot to address it, but the tech made sure to come back out (on her own) to have me email the photos to them. I would have forgotten, but she didn't. Morgan, our tech, was fantastic and thorough. She called again once he was back to give an estimate and review the vaccinations and cost for the appointment. She took an extra step to make photocopies of outside clinic records for me so I could have his baseline labs. I was also very pleased with Dr. Zechar and her thorough assessment and discussion. She took every concern I had and carefully answered the questions. They were running a little behind, but they explained it, apologized for it, and spent a great deal of time addressing all of my questions and taking great care of my cat. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend this clinic. We will be back in a few weeks for a follow up vaccination. I hope to have a long relationship with these lovely people and they obviously care a great deal for animals and their families. Thank you, ACAC! read more

I'll start by saying that I was in the vet field for many, many years, so I never had to go anywhere that wasn't with the veterinarian I worked for at the time. About a year and a half ago one of my cats stopped eating suddenly. Of course, at that time I wasn't working for a vet and couldn't get into the vet I was previously working for because they were booked up. I ended up taking my cat to a vet close to home because they were the only ones that could get us in asap. Sadly, they misdiagnosed my cat and cost me over $700. I was able to get a recheck appointment with Dr. Zecher at All Creatures and she explained that it was a tooth issue and not a kidney issue. So after getting a dental done, my cat started eating and has been doing so well! She's even gotten a little chunky since then. And this week I had another sudden sickness with my other cat, a 16-year-old senior kitty. He was acting fine last week but when I got back from a couple of nights away this weekend I noticed he wasn't eating and was not acting myself. I called All Creatures first but they didn't have an opening till next week. I made an appointment at another vet for the next day, even though I don't really like them. I decided to call in the morning just in case someone canceled at All Creatures, and they had. They were able to get me in which gave me so much peace of mind. To have a veterinarian you can trust is hard to find. They were so kind to me and my cat, and I feel relieved to know what's wrong with him. The nicest people I have ever taken my animals too. My bearded dragon was sick with a respiratory infection and during these hard times with COVID they were great. They did an amazing job at curbside service and provided her with the best care. I even sent me a video to help show me how to give my beardie her medication properly. The doctor also called me while I sat in the car to give me updates because I couldn't be inside. Super reasonable prices and great staff. I will defiantly be going here for all my reptiles veterinary needs. read more

ACAC is hands down the best vet that I have ever been to. Dr. Zechar is the only vet that I have ever met who was able to diagnose my corgi with Addison's disease. Without her knowledge and expertise, I wouldn't have found an answer to why he was constantly getting sick as no other vet that I visited even suggested this as a diagnosis. The fact that she wouldn't rest until she could give me an answer speaks volumes in my book. If you're able to find a vet that cares about animals as much as these guys do, you know you've found a keeper. Now that I'm in Grand Rapids, I'll still be making trips to visit the team in Ann Arbor for any issues that may arise in the future as Dr. Zechar is the best. read more

Another great visit to the vet. I really love the atmosphere of this place - very welcoming and calming, but clean at the same time. My rabbit, a totally skittish mini Rex, seems much less frazzled here than the last place I went. The only thing I wish they offered was boarding for those times I go on vacation. read more

Not recommended!! My boyfriend was taking his cats to All Creatures since they were kittens. I have always taken my cat to Ann Arbor Cat Clinic, and was just waiting for a reason to make the switch and take all of them there to save myself the trip to 2 seperate vets. We kept receiving postcards about vaccines that needed updating, but the vaccines were reversed, and they had mixed up the 2 cats. OK, error on their part, but not huge I guess. But then when I called to correct them and have them fix the records it turned out that their records were incomplete and all mixed up. I'm not cool with that. But it got worse... turns out they never tested EITHER cat for feline leukemia when they were kittens. This is a mandatory test!! And because they never tested them for it, they also never vaccinated them against it. This is just unacceptable for me. Because I had been going to the Cat Clinic for my other cat I knew what standard vaccines are supposed to be done and when. I faxed out the records to the Cat Clinic and decided to start taking them there along with my other cat. After looking over the records, the Cat Clinic found a bunch of oversights and mistakes on their part in terms of when and what to vaccinate. They also had some questions about why they gave one of the cats a certain medication-- they said that they definately would not have recommended the dosage given, etc. Outside of this I had a lot of concerns with them regarding their organization and competency of techs. I guess all of this just confirmed it. They seemed really scattered and unknowledgable. I would NOT recommend them. Maybe it was a random incident that led to the chaotic medical records, but I wouldn't trust them with my pets if they couldn't confirm when a vaccine was or WAS NOT given, etc. read more

Dr. Alexander was great with my rabbit! She answered all my questions and was honest about what's necessary and what's not during my inquiry about my pet's neutering procedure estimate. However, I will knock off 1 star for the tech telling me otherwise, that $100 blood work was needed, when Dr. A said it wasn't. $200 base rate for neutering seems a bit high for me (total would range between $363-$665), I will look into other places before taking my pet here for surgery. Otherwise, really kind staff and nice, clean atmosphere! read more

I brought my Bearded Dragon in for testing because he lost movement in his back legs. I was told that they were going to send labs away to another company. I was given a week time frame on January 31st when I came in. Several calls later to their clinic I was finally told on February 23 that the lab was never received and that they didn't know where they were. On February 28th, I was finally notified that the labs were in. I am very unsatisfied with their lack of customer service. I shouldn't have had to call them about the lab work at all especially when they gave a one week time frame read more

I have had the pleasure of seeing both Dr. Alexander and Dr. Zechar with my cats. They are both so engaged and helpful, and they seem super dedicated to providing education about how to keep my fur babies healthy. They spend a lot of time making sure I feel comfortable with everything that needs to be done to ensure my kitties' health. I never leave feeling like I have unanswered questions, and all of the diagnostics we've done have been totally worth it. The techs and office staff are also consistently helpful and super sweet with my (often anxious and difficult) pet patients. The clinic recently got a serious overhaul, new ownership and a gorgeous facelift, but through it all, my kitties have gotten great care. I could't recommend this clinic any more! read more

Several years ago when I got my cat Gus from the shelter we started seeing Dr. Alexander. To say the least, he's food motivated and not the most active, so I was having trouble keeping his weight under control. Dr. Alexander has worked with us to maintain his weight, which I thought was going to be impossible. She's so patient and answers my many many questions thoroughly, so I know he's getting the best care. She understands that I worry about his health, and makes sure I have all the informations I need to take care of him. I really do trust them with my boy, so I always take her advice on what she thinks needs to be done. He warms right up to all of the staff members and the environment couldn't be more welcoming. We moved away from the area for a while and haven't been able to get the same level of care and attention from other vets. We're coming back soon and I'll be glad to get him into see this team as soon as we're settled. Definitely the best place around! read more

Dr. Alexander and the rest of the staff were very courteous, professional and, most especially, accommodating when we were on vacation and our dog had to be taken in by our dogsitter for peeing unexpectedly in the house. Dr. Alexander had never previously examined our dog, but still caught an previously undiagnosed ear infection. Approving the veterinary care remotely and working through follow-up care (as we were out of town) was easy and thorough. We highly recommend All Creatures for your animal's care! read more

We started going to All Creatures last December when we adopted our dog Abby, and have had nothing but the best care for Abby. Both Dr. Alexander and Dr. Z are very knowledgeable with a great bedside manner, the techs are wonderful and it seems like all of the employees work as a great team together. My apartment building was being inspected one morning, and all tenants were instructed to remove pets. Since I had to work all day, I decided to just board my 2 cats for the day. I found All Creatures online, and called to make an appointment to bring them in. I was quoted only for the day board, $22, and nothing else. I brought them in, and again, nothing besides paying for the day board was mentioned. It was the first time I brought my cats there, so I had to fill out a form. When asked about giving your animals medical attention during their stay, I chose the box that says to NOT give my cats medical attention without my consent. So I'm at work and at about 1:30 in the afternoon, I get a call from the clinic. The lady on the phone apologizes for the staff person who made my appointment AND for the staff person who checked my cats in that morning for not telling me about a "required physical exam" since it was their first time at the clinic. I was then told that since the vet tech had already done the exams on my cats, that was going to be an additional $80 on my bill. When I went to pick up my cats that evening, they were only willing to take one of the exams off the bill despite admitting it was their fault for the miscommunication. So I ended up paying for their mistake and awful customer service. Never taking my cats there again. read more

I had been a client of All creatures for 11 years before I moved back to Chicago. I have had 4 cats treated by them and they have been unfailingly kind when my elder cats needed treatment and passed. I think my cats got the best care possible from Drs. Alexander and Zechar. I miss them already and I will always be grateful! read more

My new pet rat of seven months developed a tumor and had to get surgery. The price of surgery here was much more affordable then other places my friends have gone to for the same issue. They took great care of my rat, and after surgery took turns holding her until her pick up time. They made her a little sweater from a baby sock, to protect her from chewing on her stitches. I was worried this morning because when I was asleep she took it off, and not familiar with stitches I wasn't certain if she had done damage. One thing I really like about this vet is they call you to check on your pet after treatment. I informed them about my concern, and they even let me come in without charge (since I had an appointment scheduled for two weeks after surgery and couldn't afford to pay twice) just to take a look and make sure it was ok. This was especially a relief since the first three days is when an infection is most likely to develop. They assured me that they understood my concern, and made it clear I was welcomed. They even gave me little socks and showed me how to construct the sweaters. This isn't my first experience with this vet. I started going over a year ago when my first pet rats got sick. When I needed a new syringe for their medicine they didn't require me to buy the medication again, they had me come in and gave me a new one. Everyone on staff that I have interacted with is very kind, and shows their interest in each pet's individual personality. Also, they have student discounts for the pet appointments. I highly recommend this vet, especially if you have rats. read more

I took my sick dwarf hamster to Dr. Lewis and the experience was a train wreck. During the exam, she kept my poor little hammie in her hand, holding her by the scruff of her neck, for far longer than was necessary, chatting about irrelevant stuff while oblivious to the stress she was putting on my hamster. Similarly, she kept my very sick little hamster out of her habitat in a metal bowl far, far longer than was necessary (like 20 minutes), even when I pleaded with her to let her go home, just because she found it more convenient (she didn't want to be bothered with taking her out again in case she wanted to administer medicine... which she then didn't). Then, she prescribed some meds for me to administer at home -- but she neglected to specify how long to keep up the antibiotics, meaning I had to chase her down on the phone later (she didn't return my call at first). A few days later, while I was out of town, my conscientious petsitter called her office with new concerns about my sick hamster, and they never called back. My poor little hamster died the next day. In addition, it's worth noting that Dr. Lewis has very poor people skills and horrendous bedside manner -- she's very callous and blunt, with zero consideration for your feelings. She actually made me cry! I have two pet bunnies who I love very much, and when I mentioned them she said I had to watch out because (her exact words): "Rabbits love to just drop dead. It's their favorite trick." !?! I was in shock at first, then I couldn't stop the tears and soon there I was, bawling in a vet's office. She seemed to know on some level that she was wrong to put it like that, but she refused to acknowledge this or apologize; she just became defensive. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't trust the care of my beloved pets with someone so clearly lacking in basic compassion (not to mention her mistakes with the prescription and failing to return calls). The experience was horrifying, and I will never go back. read more

I have a mixed review about Dr. Alexander in All Creatures animal clinic. My dog developed a cancerous tumor. It was determined that surgery to remove it was necessary. Dr. Alexander performed the surgery and she did a very good job removing the tumor. My disappointment was that before, and during the surgery she failed to find a second tumor that was present near the first. This tumor was relatively big and was very easy to diagnose. My wife found the tumor immediately after the surgery by simply touching and stroking the dog. We will probably need a second surgery that may have been prevented. This was unacceptable to me and also may be unacceptable to other pet owners. read more

I love this clinic. Dr A. helped me make some hard decisions with my old man kitty and the clinic was beyond compassionate when I had to let him go. They celebrated with me when we got our new kitten and calm me when he experiences health problems. They are always professional and friendly. Both Dr. A and Dr. Z are passionate about their work and always make sure I fully understand the problem and the treatment. The staff are amazing and friendly. The groomer is amazing too and my kitty always comes home beautiful and stress free! read more

Our bird woke up sick and they got us in immediately, even though they closed in 30 minutes. Dr. Alexander was so caring, knowledgeable, and matter-of-fact and she did everything in front of us - the sedative, physical exam, wing/nail trim, and antibiotic shot. Every other vet we've gone to, they've taken our bird to the back to do everything and we just sit there without knowing what's going on. She explained everything she was doing while we were able to watch her do it. Additionally, she really wanted the visit to be as least traumatic for him as possible. Her assistant, Jerry, was wonderful as well. I cannot recommend this place enough! read more

My mother-in-law and I took her bird to Dr. Alexander for a broken foot. Dr. Alexander and the staff were amazing. They handled Peanut with care and compassion. We made multiple visits for x-rays and bandages. Dr. Alexander took the time to discuss general husbandry for birds, making sure that Peanut was going to have an even better quality of life after the leg healed. And it did heal nicely!!! read more

I have been going to All Creatures since 2008 when the business was owned by Dr. Susan Lewis. She was wonderful and I was very sad she retired. I was delighted when she sold the business to Dr. A (Dr. Alexander), because she is such is compassionate and a wonderful vet. She is connected to her profession on a spiritual level and has an amazing connection with animals. My 18 year old cat was ill for 2 years and unfortunately his treatment options were limited. The time came when I knew my cat was miserable so I scheduled an appointment to have him put to sleep. He was a feral rescue when I got him at 6 months old and car and vet trips put him over the edge, so I wanted him to have a peaceful and stress-free passing, I asked about a house call and Dr. A agreed without hesitation. The morning of, Dr. A called to go over the procedure and answer questions. That helped me feel confident I was doing the right thing. It was outside normal business hours when she came, but she took her time to help me make sure my cat was comfortable and explained everything. She made sure every detail of the procedure was to the comfort of my cat and me. When it was over, she carefully wrapped him in a towel. The cost of a home call was certainly worth the quality and care. I have another sick cat at home who is doing amazing for the moment thanks to Dr. A. Like for all my pets, she provides the highest quality care. read more
