I can say they genuinely care about pets and their owners. We have been going to them for years. Sadly, they helped us put down two of our dogs in the past after giving them great care. It was just time for them to go and the staff showed so much compassion with the entire process and helping us make the decision. We recently got a new puppy and I waivered and tried a new vet because the location was more convenient and some other dumb reasons. After two visits, I immediately went back to Dr. Griffith and will not take my new puppy anywhere else. I'm embarrassed I thought it was a good plan to try a new place when we had a veterinarian that had been so good to our other dogs. read more

I have 2 Brittany Spaniels, a male and female, 24 months and 18 months respectivlely. The female came in heat in march and I thought I kept them seperated long enough but found out my timing was off some, So the female had 2 pups this past Tuesday. I wanted to get their tails docked and dew claws removed and it has to be done between 3 and 5 days old. My vet wouldnt take me in nor would any other one close to me. So in checking I called Blue Pearl in Ann Arbor and they recommened Griffith, I called them and they set me an appoinment for this morning, also keep in mind I have never been there before because it is about 30 miles from my house. Anyway what can I say, I met Dr. Griffith and some of the staff and you couldnt ask for more professional people and a better experiance than I had. Dr. Griffith did a great job on the newborns, checked the mom over over for me to be safe all for waaaaayyyyy less than I was expecting to pay since it was such short notice and I wasnt a regular. But I tell you what I will be a regular from now on because Dr.Griffith has an old school mindset about vet care and I will be back in the future even though her hoispital is 30 miles away. Thank you Dr.Griffith for a great job and a great experience and for helping me out of a jam. Your staff is great also, polite, professional and took great care of me. I absolutely love Dr Barb Griffith and the staff at Griffith Veterinary hospital. My cat Blue Bear recently had a wound on his neck I was worried about. I called Monday morning and they were able to schedule Blue Bear for a Wed appt due to a cancellation. Dr Griffith took wonderful care of Blue Bear and gave me great advice on not just the wound but brushing his teeth etc. I have taken my diabetic cat Sangria in a few times and Dr Griffith does a wonderful job with her dental exams, follow up and advice. Her dental exams cost much less than other local vets and I am much much happier. Love Dr Griffith! She is beautiful inside and out and an amazing, compassionate veterinarian. read more

We've been clients here for 3 dogs over the last 15 or so years. They have always been adequate, although a little expensive, for yearly exams. Today, our dog is quite ill. We were told the soonest we could get her in would be in 2 weeks. Quite disappointed that they are happy to take our money for exams, but when we need some more emergent assistance in the care for our dog, their attitude was basically too bad see you in a couple of weeks. read more

I switched my 2 dogs over to Griffith Veterinary Hospital approximately 2 years ago from our local Veterinary Office which I learned had become a chain - and I have been so pleased with the service and care. The staff is very professional and courteous and I feel like you get such personal care directly from the Veterinarian Dr. Barb Griffith. When taking your pets in for their yearly exam which includes a heartworm and fecal test, you get the results before you leave. In addition, I believe they can cut the most difficult pet's nails awesomely based on my experience! My dogs also seem to like everyone there and eventually get past their "I am going to the Vet" anxiety fairly shortly after arrival. My dog has been visiting Griffith veterinarian for about four years, the recent problem is I try to set up a well dog exam and get all her vaccine shots after calling 2 1/2 months in advance before her vaccines expire I'm told that she can't come in Those dates. It'll have to be later after they expire. I told them that I need to get her in by the 10th, because she needs a bortella and distemper to be in doggy daycare. The receptionist did not offer to help in anyway and said do you want that appointment two weeks after her vaccines expired or not. I said I guess I do after talking to my husband. We decided to go to another veterinarian in the area that was more accommodating when I called Griffith to tell them to send me all her records then the receptionist said well I guess I could try to talk to the doctor to get you in! I think she should've done that in the first place... that's a $500 a year bill they won't be seeing for me. It's unfortunate.. read more

I'm was going to give them a bad review but it turns out me and my husband had a miscommunication. My dog got a full round of vaccines and blood work when I thought they just charged us $800 for blood work and flea and tick. We got the wrong flea, tick, and heartworm. They were kind enough to exchange it for the advantage multi and refunded us for the extra cost of the wrong meds. read more

Took my cat in with what was diagnosed as a blocked urethra due to crystals in his urine; he needed to stay the night and have an emergency cath. That all was good and well. Brought him home and about a week later he developed this wound on his side, where his fur just.. fell off? I took him in with no clue what it could be, they looked at it and told me it was a burn. I asked "what could be have burned himself on?? I don't have open flame at my house, and wouldn't there be singed hair around it?!?" They shrugged and said they didn't know where it could have happened but it was for sure a burn, then they prescribed him a topical for the burn which I paid for and paid for the appointment to have it looked at. A week later he needed another emergency cath but griffith was closed so we took him to an emergency vet where while treating his bladder they asked about the sore (which had increased in size a bit at this point) I explained what happened and they informed me that the only way a cat can get a burn like this is from being left on a heating pad while they are "under". I got this information verified by a friend who is also a vet and from some online research. They ended up having to treat and debride the area that Griffith had burned (ended up being the entire side of his belly) which was quite costly. So while my poor cat was in pain and dealing with treating his bladder issues (we opted for a surgery to avoid more emergency caths) he also had this giant sore on his side causing him pain that was a result of griffiths treatment. It's one thing to fuck up. It's an entirely different thing to fuck up, charge me to look at your fuck up, charge me for the medicine for your fuck up and tell me you have no idea where the burn came from. So I can't say enough about the wonderful staff here at Griffith. My little Sahara Rose fractured her knee as soon as we got to town on the lake sea wall. The next morning I called and they had no appts but Dr. Griffith didn't want to let my little Frenchie suffer so she took her in . Hands down best veterinary experience EVER . This Dr. And her staff made me feel like family and did everything they could to stabilize my pets leg and make her comfortable. I have been going to Griffith Vet for well over 10 years. First and foremost they are VERY reasonably priced compared to other vets, I know I have shopped around. Several times Fr. Griffith has avoided costly tests for me because she was trying to give me the best care for my money. Anyone who says they are expensive is just cheap and hasn't shopped the area vets. Dr Griffith is a cardiac specialist too which is very helpful and a wealth of knowledge. Her care for my three dogs who had to be euthanized was so above and beyond. She cares for pets like they are her own. When our family "critter" (a rat) died they sent a hand written sympathy card. That kind of care is hard to find these days. Griffith vet also gives back. They work with several local rescue groups and give them a BIG discount on care for rescue dogs needing adoption, that is something they dont have to do but they do because they love animals. I have recommended Dr Griffith to numerous friends and all have been HIGHLY satisfied. I LOVE HER!! read more

The last two day and a half to two days my boys third eyelid has been showing. Called the vet and they got me in same day at 3 pm. Came in and they greeted my boy by name, and got me in a room quickly. Even with Barb recently having her hip surgery, she has there caring for patients while still recovering from her own health issue. They took care of him and were so loving while examining his eyes, she also checked his heart and lungs knowing he has a heart murmur and lung congestion. They told me how to treat his double eye infection, and we were ready to check out. They had me in and out of the building in about 20 minutes. That's just amazing. Barb and her technicians are some of the best people I know who care for animals and I'd recommend her practice to anyone. Her appointments may be booked two weeks out, but that's because everyone loves this place! Don't let that scare you away, they have emergency slots available to help with things like we are dealing with. Super great experience as always with them. Update 6/13: Been here since 4:20 with Jake for his eyes again. Just now seen by Barb at 5:07 but I know she's super busy with all her appointments and for her to be able to squeeze me in I greatly appreciate. Update 7/1: My boy jake had a large growth removed off his rear, as well as a skin tag on his eye lid and some dental work done. Dr. Barb is so careful with everything she does. They called me to let me know when he was done and that everything went well. She treats my boy as her own and is beyond loving with him. The bill wasn't cheap of course, but was definitely cheaper than any other place around Brighton for the same amount of work. Couldn't imagine taking him anywhere else. This office is literally 3 minutes from our house so is super convenient, however, I will not be returning. The doc required me to lift my dogs, both 30+ lbs., up on the table for him when I'm clearly pregnant and then spent less than 10 minutes examining and giving vaccinations to both of my dogs. When I asked to have my dog's microchip re-read to verify the number, I was given flack that they didn't know what that would prove since they were sure they wrote the number down right. The number was correct, but I didn't know it was a bad thing to 'just make sure' as we are all human and we all can make mistakes. Besides the poor bedside manner and lack of good customer service, the office is outrageously priced for their services. Had I received great customer service, I wouldn't mind paying the high fees. read more

We really appreciate the staff here. Our dog is a larger (95 lb) rescue who gets very anxious, borderline aggressive around other dogs since she wasn't socialized well. Dr. Griffith is amazing with her. The office is super accommodating, we always get her in first thing so she doesn't upset other animals. They even let us use side doors if necessary. The prices are what we expected and they always price out your best options for medicine (heartworm, frontline, etc...) Would highly recommend them! read more

There are some life experiences that are deserving of praise and recognition. Dr. Barbara Griffith, DVM and her wonderful staff are such a blessing to the lives of pet owners and animal lovers. They run a professional office/hospital setting with a very special warm, caring, friendly touch. Our black lab Sam goes in for his check ups without anxiety or trepidation. Dr. Barb is simply the BEST and the assistants (techs) are so kind. Sam had a close call after ingesting a fairly large rock and was getting prepped for a major surgical procedure. His pre-op X-ray showed the rock moving down his intestines and due to her swift medical action Sam miraculously passed the rock naturally!! I knew he was in good hands if surgery was needed but so relieved to have been spared that ordeal. I love how Dr. Barb and her team care for our pet and others feel the same. It is with tremendous gratitude that I share my story and appreciation. We are blessed and so lucky to have a Vet practice like this in our community! read more

I will never go here again. My dog was a regular, monthly client. I lost her unexpectedly at an emergency clinic. The same day i was at griffith with my sick cat. The doctor didn't even ask what happened to my dog. Then they kept my cat for day and told me throughout the day, multiple times, that they would call me. Well they didn't, and they just closed, and left my cat there! We even drove there, just to find an empty, locked building!!!! No compassion and no communication read more
