He did pre-dental bloodwork on my dog; found liver enzymes (ALP) was much too high to perform the…read moredental cleaning. He sent us home with instructions to buy famotidine over the counter, give it to my dog to reduce the high liver enzymes and bring him back in 2 weeks. I went to CVS for the medication which turned out to be Pepcid a drug to treat acid indigestion. After some internet research I found the famotidine has abslutely no effect on liver enzymes and, in fact, may harm the liver in certain circunstances. I will find a vet that is actually interested in the well being of my dog.

However Vet Andrea van Schoick lacks empathy and compassion. My grandmother had made the heartbreaking decision to have her 14 y/o dog put down. When she went into her appointment she sat and waited in the room to be seen by the vet for over an hour. When she was finally seen by the vet, the vet met her with NO compassion, empathy, and what felt like annoyance. Andrea van Schoick made my 82 y/o grandmother feel like she may have been making the wrong choice, scared, and even more upset. If you've ever had to put your animal down you know it's not an easy choice and it's honesty heartbreaking. I am disgusted with how she was treated.

Dr. Singh came in with his assistant, explained the process and then in under 10 minutes trimmed all of her nails. We also discussed vaccinations and medications, but he was not pushy and made me feel like he was very knowledgeable. I was also able to get a later appointment, which I appreciated and also appreciated the fact that Dr. Singh wanted to make sure Emma's first time in his office was a pleasurable one.
