I searched for a good phone repair shops withing the neighborhood and asked for quotes on how much to repair the camera glass cover of my iPhone X. Most of the responses I received were "$49, $85, $30" but Jenny from iFix iBuy iCell first responded to me telling me that she'd check with their head technician. This caught my attention because I thought, "okay, they're taking their time to properly give me a quote" then by the end of the day, Jenny responded back to me saying that I should call them because my situation is hard to explain over email or text. Btw, my iPhone X has had an open cracked camera glass for over a year and I've ducttaped it to avoid further damages. So I called the store and Jenny answered. She recognized my name from my quote and I really appreciated that. She explained to me that fixing my phone is no problem but it was labor intensive. My quote was $150 and to me, that sounded reasonable than the cheaper quotes I received from other repair shops. I only say this because I've done my fair share of research on how to fix my phone and it needed to be opened up to make sure no debri went into the camera. Usually, I go for the cheaper option, but I spent so much money on my phone that I wanted to get it properly fixed. I knew that the cheaper quotes I got would only take out the glass screen from the outside and cover it with a new one. And this wouldn't do my phone, time and money justice. When I came into the store 4 days after I called, Jenny remembered me from our conversation which is AMAZING. Most just want your money and won't even try to bother remembering your name and case. Her and the main technician whos name I can't remember (IM SORRY) were very welcoming and honest. Honest about the pricing. I left my phone to be repaired for 2 hours and I didn't have a problem waiting because the neighborhood keeps you busy with restaurants and shops. When it came time to pick up my phone, the technician showed me my repaired phone and told me one thing that he noticed with my camera. He showed me that there were 2 spots on my camera lens but it's only obvious on light/white backgrounds, which I've seen before after having it ducttaped for a year. He told me that he thinks that it was not a big deal because replacing the actual camera would cost me more. I appreciated that honesty because I would assume other shops would try to get me to spend more. But they didn't. Jenny also told me to invest in a better case with higher lips around the phone and the camera so the same thing happen again. She didn't try to sell me anything extra, just gave me an advice which was awesome. I have no problem sharing my amazing experience with this shop as you can tell. I 100% recommend this shop to anyone in need of their devices repaired and I know that I'll be coming back to get my laptop's battery replaced sometime in the future. I have never had a better customer service experience than with Marcus and his team. On the last day of my honeymoon my iphone 6 was submerged in water. I could actually hear the insides of the phone frying moments after the water damage occurred, and after that the phone wouldn't power on and was unresponsive even when I plugged it into my computer. I brought it to the apple store and they basically said there was nothing they could do and that I should just replace the phone, but since I didn't have a backup of the phone that would mean losing all the photos and video I took on my honeymoon. I figured there was no way to retrieve my data, but I brought the phone to Marcus as a last resort. Everything Marcus did was extremely transparent. He immediately brought me to the back of his shop where he had a high definition microscope that was connected to a large monitor so I could watch him open up the phone and inspect it. As he inspected each chip set and the corrosion from the water damage, he explained that data recovery would require testing every single circuit board until he identified the problem. The most remarkable part of this experience was when Marcus told me that he only charges for his work based on the result. He said he would work on the phone for a couple days and if he was unable to retrieve my data I wouldn't pay a dime. I had nothing to lose. Two days later I called the shop and Marcus informed me that after 6 consecutive hrs of work on my phone the previous evening he had successfully restored the touch screen functionality and performed a backup of my data. I couldn't believe it. I went back to the store to perform my own backup of the data and watched as Marcus deleted the backup he had made for me. My phone was operational, but Marcus said I should get it replaced because one of my volume buttons still didn't work and the battery life was draining very rapidly. He said the amount of corrosion inside the phone would likely mean that it had a short life span remaining. Marcus even threw in a free screen protector AND a free phone case. The next day I backed up my phone to icloud and went to the apple store to get a replacement phone under my apple care warranty. Long story short, I didn't lose a spec of data and paid an extremely discounted price for a service that in my mind was priceless. I've been recommending this place to everyone I know. This is a long review but I promise it's worth it - it shows what kind of customer service this place provides. I went in for a screen repair after shattering my iPhone 6s. Unfortunately during the repair process a part of my phone was broken (I think the backlight?). The owner explained this to me and profusely apologized for the mistake, but assured me that all my data was still intact. He suggested the best solution was to transfer my data/SIM card onto a new iPhone 6s they had in stock. I was completely fine with this since my old phone had a few other dings on it, plus I got a different color so in a way it felt like I got an upgrade. While I waited for the transfer of data to complete, the owner had me pick out a case free of charge and even went out and bought me dinner (a pizza, a brownie, and a drink!) because he felt so bad about the situation. Once the data sync was complete he put my new phone in my new case with a new screen protector over it and had me watch as he wiped my old phone to ensure my datas privacy. I tried multiple times to pay for something, but he politely refused to accept it. Any time you take your phone to be repaired somewhere you run the risk of a mistake being made. I really got the sense that this was a rare occurrence and the owner went above and beyond to make my experience a positive one. I've had my new phone for 2 weeks now and haven't had any issues with it. So instead of paying $80 to fix my cracked screen I got a new phone, a case, a screen protector, and an entire meal for free. This is honestly some of the best customer service I've ever received and I'll definitely be going back here if I crack my phone screen again. My Samsung Galaxy SIII had issues with charging. The battery would not fully charge and it would make sounds repeatedly. The sound when you first plug in the micro sb cord into the phone. I did some research online and learned that the charger port is probably damaged. After another search I found IFix Cell Phone Repair. They advertised that they do charger port repair for $49 and can be done in about an hour. I took it in and Marcus took my phone apart to investigate the charger port and immediately noticed the contacts were damage. He said he would work on it and I can check back in 20 minutes. I went to grab some lunch and came back. He waited for me to come back before putting my phone together. He explained in great detail what exactly was wrong and how he fixed it. After an understanding of what he did, he put the phone back together in no time. This guy knows what he is doing, hands down. It didn't bother me that they only accepted cash for repairs. I was elated that I didn't have to fork over money I didn't have to get another phone! I casually asked if repairs came with a warranty like 30 days or something. He said that was reasonable and as long as didn't break again because of my rough treatment, he would honor that. Overall it was a great experience. Better than I expected. My phone charges wonderfully again. I would highly recommend this place if you need any repairs on your phone. They appreciate your business and it shows by their service. I rarely write reviews but Jenny and Marcus and their shop, iFix iBuy iSell, deserves it. They are not only customer service oriented and highly skilled at what they do, their process is accessible and they each bring such bright and positive energy to the experience. It is rare to leave a repair shop and feel that you were treated extremely well and that the item you've had repaired was done openly and honestly or the item that you sold was valued respectably or the item you bought was in good condition and priced reasonably. I'm a fan of Apple and I have been for the past 15 years and I trust Apple. However, after my last experience at iFix iBuy iSell, I may trust Marcus and Jenny's experience, knowledge and expertise just as much, if not more, than the expertise and experience at Apple. I highly recommend this location for repairs, battery replacement, screen replacements, phone protectors, purchasing of used devices, etc. As I shared with them, every headache that comes with running a family business, I hope can be justified when customers leave as pleased and grateful as I did this past weekend. I have never left a Yelp review before this very moment. So here is my first ever WELL DESERVED review! I went into the store today with a completely shattered iPhone 6, and no home screen button, as well as a bend in my phone! Yikes. Marcus assisted me right away. He showed me the issues with my phone, and fixed it right in front of me in under 15 minutes. He gave me a FREE tempered glass, and after chatting for a few minutes, he gave me a free iRing after disclosing I was a marathon runner, AND rounded down my bill. Now let me just say this was not the first time I've ever worked with Marcus. I came in a few months back with a shattered screen and he also provided me with accessories for my phone free of charge! Marcus is great, intelligent, kind and will fix your phone, in front of you, for a reasonable price. He also gave me tips on reducing battery usage. Long Yelp review, however, I felt that Marcus and his business deserved a great review because I have received such exceptional service there! WOOO! Called to see if they could do micro soldering on my dead phone, as I was informed by another shop that there might be an issue with the board and that they could not do that type of repair. Jenny answered the phone, told her my issued and said to come on in to get it looked at. When I got there, Jenny greeted me and informed her tech, Marcus, of my situation. Marcus sat in front of me and opened up my phone to properly diagnose what could be wrong with it. Marcus patiently showed and explained to me everything that he was doing. Unfortunately, my phone was beyond repair, the board and screen were shot. Their website states that they close at 7:00 pm but there was no rush to get me out of the door as I left at around 7:15 pm. Turns out that this is a Mom & Pop shop which is so rare in this day and age. Both Marcus and Jenny were so friendly and informative. I was trying to avoid the inevitable of getting a new phone, but they made the decision easier to bear. Even though my phone could not be fixed, I truly appreciate their honesty, integrity. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Marcus and his team at iFix! My iPhone 6 Plus did a 360 ° aerial onto my kitchen countertop when I was putting it back in the case, and I dented the sides and back of the phone. The display became less touch responsive and sometimes I couldn't even answer calls because I couldn't tap the screen. On a recommendation from the AT&T store down the street, I stopped into iFix. I just walked in, no appointments, lines or waiting, and Marcus said, "Give me an hour." I walked across the street, grabbed some lunch and came back and he gave me a easy explanation to what had happened. The display could have cost me $300 to replace, but by simply opening up as a courtesy to take a look at it, Marcus "fixed" it. My drop & dent misaligned the LED connections, and because he just opened it and put it back together it now works perfectly. These guys are techy, fast and have amazing customer service. They get straight to the point, and seems like they can tell you what's wrong with your device just by looking at it. And the location is prime time- right under the Belmont El stop. A+ read more

The service is quick and to the spot. The place has pretty much everything you would ever need if your cell phone decides to act up and the prices are pretty amazing and I don't think anyone can beat them. When I went to Verizon to get a new phone, they actually referred me to iFix so I could get a refurbished one for half the price. I bought a refurbished iPhone 4s from them because my phone fell into the toilet and I was just going to buy their iPhone 4 because it was cheaper but it didn't work out and the manager was nice enough to give me discount on the iPhone 4S- probably because I was panicking. The phone works great but I realize that my camera doesn't focus. So, I took it back today- I got the phone at least 3 weeks ago and he remembered me- put in a new camera that works great and was also added a screen cover to my phone. The manager just has a great attitude and make you feel at ease when you ( at least me ) are in a state of panic because your phone decided it hated you. the customer service is great! If I could give this place six stars, I would. I was sent here by the Verizon guy down the street because my phone wasn't charging and I didn't have any upgrades or insurance on my plan. As an out of state student with an overly worried mother, I was desperate. When I got there, there were a few people in ahead of me, but it was well worth the wait. Marcus was very knowledgeable and answered all of the questions I had. He explained to me what was wrong, how he was going to fix it, and how much it would cost me before doing anything. He even apologized for me having to wait. And not only did he fix my phone, but he gave me a new battery for it and charged it a little bit before I left the store so I would have it on my way home. When I saw that they only accepted cash, he let me pay with my card so I didn't have to go and find an ATM. This place is amazing. I had gone from store to store and no one knew what to do with my phone (it was having a problem with its sound system). When I got to ifix cell phone, Marcus (the owner) repaired my phone right in front of me in minutes. He knew exactly what he was doing with solving a problem that had left other stores scratching their heads. He was efficient and friendly. When he finished, I didn't have enough money to pay for the repair. I offered to go to my bank, but he stopped me and said he'd take just the money I had in my wallet (which was 1/4 the original price) and said that he runs his shop because he loves the work he does, and he wants to help people when he can. He gave me advice on another tech issue I was having and gave me his card, asking for me to call him to let him know how it went. I drove in all the way from North side Chicago to get my very cracked iPhone 6s Plus repaired based on their reviews and referral from my neighbor. Well worth the rush hour drive! Marcus opened up the phone and did the repair right in front of me - no hiding behind closed doors. He was so patient explaining the inner workings of the phone. I could tell he had the passion and years of experience under his belt. He also noticed that my charging port was clogged with lint and showing me under the microscope, carefully cleaned out the debris. If you need your iPhone fixed, this is 100% the place to go. I came here because my girlfriend had a similarly amazing experience. Came in because I dropped my phone and was immediately welcomed by the 2 friendliest staff members (I believe they might be the owners but I'm not sure) and they got to work on my phone right away. My phone needed a new LCD and they made sure I understood the differences between the apple replacement and an aftermarket screen. They also ran several other diagnostic checks to make sure everything else on the phone was working correctly. On top of that, they even threw in a case at no extra charge even though I tried to pay for it!! The store was very bright and open when I arrived. I purchased a groupon to repair my broken iPhone5s screen, which was a pretty good deal as I ended up just paying a little over $100 for what other stores might charge as high as $200 for (i think apple is $250). The employees were very accommodating even though I arrived only 5 minutes before close on a Saturday evening and told me that it would take approximately 30 minutes. When I came back they even walked me through how to test whether the screen was properly functioning by demonstrating the proximity sensor. This was nice to see it working in the store so there were no bad surprises when I got home. I was also able to successfully use my old touch ID with no problems. As the final nice piece, they offered to trade in my iPhone case as their selection is quite good. I am a very satisfied customer. I have been putting off repairing my iPhone 5 because it always feels like a hassle. But this place had my part in stock in the right color. Marcus was very gentle with my iPhone as he pulled off the old screen. He tested the phone in front of me to make sure everything was in working order. He was kind enough to put on a screen protector at no extra charge. He made me feel like he cared for the well being of my phone. He even suggested the perfect case to side the nicks on the metal band that wraps around the phone. Did I mention that he was quick and efficient? He quoted me 10 min to repair but had me out and done in way less. It felt like he got the repair done in 5 minutes. All in all great experience! These guys are awesome. Really just great people. I went in to get a cracked screen fixed - I wanted to return my phone to Verizon (within the 14 day period). I had called ahead and they set aside the last screen they had in stock for me. I went in and Marcus noticed it was a slightly different color. *He went the extra mile by letting me use his phone to call Verizon and confirm they would take it back.* After a high quality repair, my return to Verizon was seamless - the phone was returned no questions asked. I called Marcus to tell him the good news, and asked if he had suggestions for cleaning a charging port that had corroded due to salt. He asked me to bring it in, and cleaned it up for free! These guys are great. Efficient, polite, and all around good people. They're not trying to rob you here - they just want you to be happy with your phone and their service. read more

I gave iFix a call around 7PM on Wednesday and spoke to Marcus who told me to bring my phone as soon as he got in at 11AM on Thursday and he would have it fixed in 45 minutes. I did as I was told and received prompt service when I arrived. Marcus explained what he thought was wrong and how he would fix it, and he told me that if my phone wasn't fixed by the time he was done with it, he wouldn't charge me. Deal. I arrived an hour later to pick up my phone and the damn thing worked perfectly! Marcus is a wizard! He went through all of the dev tests with me to show me everything worked as it should. For cell phone fixes they are CASH ONLY but luckily there is a Bank of America right across the street. Everyone that helped me was super friendly, but I have to give a huge THANK YOU to Marcus! It's rare that a phone repair places stands out enough to warrant a review at all let alone a positive one. Though this place isn't much to look at the customer service will knock your socks off. I've been here twice, each time it was the same 2 guys working and each time they were patient and polite not just to me but to every single customer in the store. Seriously if you come here and have a bad experience then you might be the problem because I can't imagine these guys being anything less than extremely pleasant. In addition to their rocking attitudes, they actually know what they're talking about. During both of my visits they were able to diagnose the problem with in 10 - 15 mins and fix it for relatively cheap. If you're like me and your phone is often the victim of your constant clumsiness I would definitely have these guys on speed dial. read more
