I wasn't particularly happy with the service performed. First, the appointment was scheduled for 9am. His team arrived at 9:30am. Second, during the course of their work, they proceeded to cause the light switch and other light fixture (on same circuit) to stop working. These were both working when they arrived. Third, they stated that the bulb receptacle was no longer working. They replaced that, but the bulb was still not working. I would note that I had tried three different bulbs in this light socket before they arrived, so it seems suspicious to me that the socket/bulb was the issue. Finally, they said the issue was with the bulb. They put in a different bulb and charged me $135 for a socket and a diagnostic test. They did not clean up (they left wire nuts and wire clippings in the garage). They were also pitching me on other work (duct cleaning, HVAC, other renovation services) while trying to fix the light bulb. I get that these are difficult economic times, but I am traditional. I want the original job completed first and I found that unprofessional. When I told him I was unhappy with the service and the price (after I paid him in full), he started lecturing me on his great reputation. He then asked what I did for work. I told him and he proceeded to say that he couldn't believe I was successful in my field. I don't think insults are appropriate. I'm glad others have had success with him, but I did not. read more

I had a positive experience with Edgar and his brother Hector. We ordered two light fixture replacements for high ceilings through Amazon, but when he arrived he noted that what we were requesting was not what was specified on the Amazon order. He said he could do it but it would cost more, and suggested that if I wanted I could cancel the Amazon order and he would give me a new quote. He didn't seem pushy, just polite and factual. We wanted him to: * Assemble and install a chandelier for a 12ft high ceiling * Install an LED touch mirror (put the cables in the wall) * Move the above mounted mirror down 6 inches * Add an outlet to a different side of the room He quoted $470 for the whole job, and agreed to $400 via Quickpay or cash after negotiating. He said he would need to put holes in the wall to connect the power to the mirror and new outlet, but that he didn't know how to fix the drywall so we would need someone else to do that and we agreed. He promised he would do as little damage as possible. He cancelled the Amazon order (originally $258.49) from his phone and got to work. He arrived around 9:30am, got started around 9:50am and was finished and cleaned up at 1:15pm. He checked with me multiple times on mirror placement, outlet placement, and length of the light fixture. He was polite and covered my things with plastic to not get dust on them and asked if he could place mirror and things on our bed - just being courteous which I appreciated. When he was finished he asked me to come check the quality of his work to make sure I was happy before he left (test the lights, dimmer and outlet) and helped me move my vanity back into place to make sure it looked good with the mirror. When I tried to Quickpay him I added his info and sent and he got an email notification, but his bank wasn't an option for Zelle so I cancelled the payment and gave him cash instead. As far as demeanor if anyone is interested his brother Hector was quiet and shy and simply worked. While his brother was getting things from their van Edgar asked about my holiday plans and we chatted for a bit about where he was from and his kids. He's got a son studying to be an electrician and a daughter in Med school and was very proud of both of them! He wasn't too chatty or over bearing at all - I'm very talkative- but while I was working on my computer he only checked in when he had a question. Awful. I hired this firm to dress chandeliers that had already been hung with crystals, in a new construction hole. Edgar started arguing with another contractor telling him to move his equipment unnecessarily. Edgar and the other worker were completely confused when they looked at the directions for the chandeliers. They had no idea where to start.
