I understand it is a complex project that involves both gas and electric, and it took several months just to get the permits. It took my project 9 months to complete. I've had neighbors who got theirs installed by Reliable in 3-4 mos. There were problems I suppose with management organization and things cost me a lot more than initially quoted due to a myriad 'what-ifs'. But it took forever to organize a final inspection. There was little training and seems the expectation is you will figure it out. A couple months after the generator was installed I found the manuals INSIDE THE GENERATOR and they were soggy from the sprinkler system. I guess I should have known they were there and pulled them, but I was oblivious. I asked for replacements because they smelled and were stuck together). NOTHING came. No matter; manuals can be accessed online. The spiel given by the salesman does not mean much. Whatever (s)he says, your costs will likely rise and ongoing maintenance has hidden costs. I am assuming it is the same with every generator installation, so I can say my experience is just average.

Mine, unfortunately, is on my roof but there is there an access ladder on the side of my 3 story townhouse. (important to note that my AC is also on the roof and I get that serviced) So thus begins my story. Reliable was recommended by a neighbor to service my all house generator, so I reached out and scheduled an appointment as they were also recommended by the brand of generator that I have. I purchased an annual service plan and they came out quickly, replaced the battery, did a tune up and helped me get it up on line with the app since I didn't have wifi when the generator was installed. I was very pleased with the level of service. Fast forward 6 months when I got a service disruption message on the app. I called to have them come out. Their service rep shows up to do the work but says he has no ladder to to access the ladder that is on the side of my unit and that someone will call to reschedule. I wait 5 days for them to call and then call them back and they say they will be there the next day. Great. The next day I get a text confirming they will be there and that I am the 2nd appointment. 5 hours later I call to see if they are still coming and then they tell me they don't have the right technician or equipment to do the job. All of a sudden it's a 2 man job and they don't have the people to do the work. This back and forth trying to get the unit serviced went on for a couple of more weeks. Customer service is very hard to reach. They will not put you through to the manager, Daniel, they say they are going to call you back, they don't- I actually had to have someone else call from a different number and a pretend address to get through to a live person. Ridiculous! Long story short- they did the right thing and fulfilled the maintenance contract that I had and then promptly sent me an email that they were cancelling future work on the unit given it was on the roof and hard to access. So the three star rating is for knowing their stuff when they actually show up, and fulfilling their obligations which I appreciated. I just wish it hadn't taken so much work. And know if your generator is easily accessible you may have no problems with them. As for me, I reached out to the generator company to let them know of the challenges I had and that they should make note before they recommend Reliable that they should ask where the generator is located.

I have a Honda generator which would not start and which had never been used. After searching online, I found All Equipment Repairs and Services. When I called, the owner, Pete, he returned my call immediately. Pete came to my home within a couple of days. He was beyond outstanding. Pete was extremely professional in all ways from the beginning of the project to the very end. He diagnosed my problem right away. I needed a new battery and a tickler charger. He also saw that I was using the wrong gasoline. A few days later, he returned and replaced the battery, showed me how to keep the battery charged, and gave me detailed directions on everything from starting the generator to hooking it up and running it. Pete also gave me printed directions and links online should I ever need them. He also said I could call him anytime. The cost of both trips, which he actually counted as one, was shockingly very reasonable. I feel very comfortable using the generator after his visits. Pete was great! I've used him twice for repairs and both times he couldn't have treated more fairly. The first repair was on my 13 year old son's dirt bike. It needed carburetor work. I brought it to a local shop and they wanted to charge me over $400.00 to replace it. Pete looked at it and all it needed was a float and a good cleaning. Total charge, $150.00 The second repair was on a generator for my home. Pete came out and diagnosed (for free) that it needed and expensive mother board that would cost around $500.00 plus labor. I agreed and he told me he would order it. He called me a few days later to tell me he came across one on a generator that that had a blown engine. The next day he came by, installed the mother board, fine tuned the carb and the genarator runs like a charm. Total cost, $300.00! My 20 year old B&G generator was running poorly. Emailed Pete (owner) with issues and requested an appointment. Pete called back same day. This is a mobile business so Pete comes to you. Pete was amazing, checked the machine, emptied and cleaned the inside of the tank, cleaned and adjusted the carburetor, checked the air filter and changed the oil. Explained the proper gas to use and why my machine was running poorly. Within 30 minutes the generator for running fantastic. Pete is extremely knowledgeable, willing to answer questions and explained everything he was doing to the generator. The service is very fairly priced and the best experience I have had with a service call to any vendor/industry. If you any type of small engine - Pete is your guy! P.S. Had a lawn mower that was putting out a lot of white smoke. Called All Equipment -- spoke with Pete. I explained the problem and he told me that the most likely cause was too much oil. We scheduled him to come by a few days later to look at it. He came right on time. He took out the oil dipstick and showed me that it had nearly 3 times the amount of oil it needed. He drained the oil, put in fresh oil -- it then started right up with no smoke. He also replaced the air filter that had been "clogged" by the oil. He explained to me a maintenance schedule that would keep the mower in best condition. The service call was $35, and a new air filter $9 -- ~$45 for having my mower fixed at home. I think this was a very fair price. I found Pete to be professional and highly personable. I strongly recommend his services. read more

During 2020 hurricane season, Pete came when scheduled to service my portable generator, which I had sadly neglected. A friend had told me it needed a new carburetor, so Pete requested model info ahead of the appointment and installed a new one when he came. He siphoned out the old gas and changed the oil and had it running like new. He told me how to keep it in shape in the off season and where to get an battery-powered siphon (solves my gas transfer trouble!). He had me practice his technique for a reliable start. He answered all my many questions and explained everything. I felt I got good value for the price paid. Found Pete's company online about a week ago. Scheduled an appointment with him to come out and get my Honda generator running again. He called a day early to confirm the appointment and then texted me 30 minutes prior to his arrival. I bought a 15500 generac portable generator in january. The MIL light indicating a fault kept coming on. After 2-3 weeks of contacting generac who provided no repair service or customer support for me, a friend told me about Peter from all equipment repairs. Advised about using Ethanol Free Gas in place of standard as well as adding Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment to the fuel we keep on hand for the equipment. Very convenient. Pete came to the house and repaired the generator here. I helped him lift it onto his truck bed. It tried to start but would not turn over. He cleaned the carburetor. He was knowledgeable and recommended that I use non-ethanol gasoline, treat the gasoline with an enzyme, use synthetic oil, and start it every month or two and plug in a hair dryer. Once the defroster was replaced by an authorized repair company, it is now working perfectly even though Quick Vents insisted that the compressor also needed to be replaced at cost of an additional $1700! I stand by my recommendation to find another company to fix your appliance.

They never fixed anything and left me frustrated and worried. The day after Christmas, I called Perfect Electric and they had a technician, Brian, at my property within two hours, which already impressed me. As soon as Brian walked in, he diagnosed the issue in about five minutes, it turned out the problem was actually FPL's fault and the meter needed to be changed. Brian clearly explained what was going on and confirmed that nothing in my house was causing the issue. He was professional, calm, and clearly very knowledgeable. To my surprise, he wouldn't even charge me for diagnosing the problem. That level of honesty is rare and deeply appreciated. This company is honest, quick, and truly looks out for the customer. If you are having electrical issues and getting nowhere with FPL, call Perfect Electric and ask for Brian, you will not regret it.

I set an appointment for 2 weeks out and the gentleman I spoke to said he'd call the day before to confirm. The "day before' arrived but I didn't receive a phone call. As we approached the afternoon, I called up to see what was happening but only got a voice mail. I left a message and hoped for the best for the next day. On the day of the appointment the guys were a no show. My wife called up and got a hold of someone who had no idea about the appointment and in general sounded very confused about the schedule. He said he'd call us back with an update but never got back to us. We called one more time and got the voicemail again. At that point I just gave up. One star for Perfect Electric. Not reliable and not responsive. Wouldn't recommend them at all.
