My dad went here to address a chipped tooth. The Dr. put on a crown that literally fell off in 2 days. The office charged $1476. I called them about a claim, sent the Medical PoA and then couldn't get a response after several contacts. We had another dentist who did a great job and told us why the crown Dr. Tracy put on wasn't done correctly. Wow, $1476 for nothing, and, no follow up. Response to the attached letter: I have never questioned Dr. Tracy's and Sam's abilities to perform excellent dental work. Receiving your letter in the mail (attached for reference) is nothing but angering; it's an absolute reflection of the obliviousness and straightforward inability to recognize your office's mistake in handling this situation. Historically I've been very prompt in paying my copay; you should be able to validate this in your records. I'm immensely mindful of what is owed, and what my responsibilities are in communicating with providers any modification in insurance coverage as I want to ensure eligibility, and that providers do get compensated for the work performed. I have provided your office more than sufficient heads up in early-mid March that my insurance will be changing effective April 1st due to a change in employment. As soon as I received said new insurance information I promptly informed your office. This would've been the opportunity for your office to proactively verify eligibility --- however due diligence on your part was not appropriately executed. You've known as soon as I informed the office that my new policy is under Aetna. You said that my plan is an HMO and not a PPO, therefore I did the work on my end and switched to PPO at the earliest opportunity. When I called your office to provide that update, that's when you finally said "we don't participate with Aetna." From that interaction you revealed that you've ALWAYS known you do not participate with Aetna, but continued to lead me on, at my expense, to help sustain that little bit of revenue for your clinic. This is bad business. You also referred me to an unnecessary periodontist treatment and sent them the old insurance information. Needless to say they're sending me an invoice for the full amount --- all because of your office's irresponsibility and lackluster quality of administrative work. I'm pulling my family from your clinic. It is immensely unprofessional and sketchy business to make a patient responsible for an amount that could've been prevented had you executed eligibility standard operating procedure, aka if you actually did the work of verifying eligibility when I gave you the complete insurance details. Obviously you did not, I stand by principle and will not be a victim of the irresponsible and lazy method your office went about this scenario. I'd appreciate this be escalated to Dr. Tracy and have this be waived for decent business practice's sake. And please be assured that your letter, as well as this response, will be posted online to various review and social media platforms to provide awareness of your horrendous patient account handling. read more

She was fairly good I thought until a professional orthodontist accessed my alignment after 2.5 years her application of Invisalign trays was a failure. Previously she kept her work for me at its best. Another dentist for a check found four issues that need care right away before braces can be done effectively correct. Devastated lack of care, insult to injury she had me pay for a night guard that is useless with the braces being done by a professional orthodontist. Allot of time and thousands wasted. Knowing when to leave and move on is difficult, I should and will going forward pay for a second opinion to keep a correct plan of care monitored. read more

After 1.5 years of service, we have decided to go elsewhere for our dental needs. The staff and Dr Tracy are nice enough, but this does not make up for all the other issues we have had with billing, unprofessional nature of the office, and appointments not being on-time (or rescheduled at the last minute for "doctor"). We really aren't too sure who is running the office - is it Dr Tracy, her Dental Hygienists, accounting, or the front desk? It also seems like Dr Tracy is super over-booked which causes a feel of chaos. One spends too much money on dental care to contend with everything that has transpired. Colleen Tracy has a wonderful staff, however she herself has a problem ignoring patient wishes, making haste decisions then charging them later more than what was discussed. She stopped in the middle of my procedure without doing the purpose of my appointment even which was to take out my wisdom teeth, as she couldn't get me numb. She taunted me and left me unable to eat from a filling gone bad upon leaving as well. I agree with a previous post that she sees us as wallets... maybe that's why she wasn't very helpful for me, as my wallet isn't very thick. Thank goodness her amazing staff helped me with financing or I would have left long ago. My whole extended family is at our whits end with her! Updated after Dr. Tracy's response: I am surprised to see a response after 4 months when you called my mom the next day after my botched surgery and told her you didn't appreciate me complaining about you on the internet. Yes, I will use the cliched expression: 'I don't know where to begin' with regards to Dr. Colleen Tracy DDS and her staff, because there are SO MANY GREAT things to say!! I brought my husband in to have what was originally going to be an extraction of one of his wisdom teeth. However, because Dr. Tracy had prescribed an antibiotic during his previous checkup to treat the underlying infection, it so turned out he did not require the extraction after all! Instead she was willing/able to recommend another course of treatment , in order to save the tooth. The course of treatment recommended dealt with his dental issue more comprehensively. In addition, because my husband and I DO NOT have Dental Insurance and so Dr. Tracy DDS and her staff really fight hard to get you the best deal through their recommendation programs, pay via cash, debit plan. Check it out! Dr. Tracy DDS and her staff are incredibly caring and informative in the way they treat their patients. I especially LOVE my dental hygienist, Sam. You can feel her passion and commitment to her patients in her cleaning excellence. Debbie the receptionist/appointment planner is equally committed to working with patients and does a great job making sure you are scheduled and aware of treatment costs. After going to this Dentist I received a mystery bill over 60 days later. When I went there I paid for services in full at the time of service as it is stated in their office. The "bill" or should I say balance forward does not even state what it is for. I believe I even had credit there as I paid $100 for work to be done before it was even done. I then in the same day called and changed the scope of the work because it was going to cost me over $900 out of pocket in one week. After I changed the work what the insurance didn't cover only cost me $60 out of pocket which left $40 in credit. If you are going to bill me do not wait over 60 days and also enclose a reason to as why I am getting billed. read more

After starting a new job and getting dental coverage I decided to find a dentist closer to home. Dr. Colleen Tracy opened up a new clinic and I received a flyer for new patient discounts. Decided to setup an initial consultation and this should have been my first warning. The front desk ladies are very nice, but let's get real who goes to a dentist for the receptionists? It's all about the dentist. From the moment I met Colleen she was talking about work I needed and how we need to do veneers, straightening, and other procedures to correct issues... basically she looked at me as a cash cow. My previous dentist has almost 40 years experience, does surgery, orthodontics, and teaches at the university level. He stated my teeth were in excellent health... then Colleen describes me as basically needing thousands in work right up front... I don't believe her. Despite my better judgement I agreed to have her fill 4 holes (not cavities). She numbed me up and performed the fillings. After the numbness went away I noticed my bite was completely ruined, to the point my jaw was no longer aligned. Looking in the mirror it looked like she just smeared adhesive in there. Called the office to complain and they scheduled me for a correction. Colleen apologized and said that she felt bad for the inconvenience. Appreciated the sentiment but if you are going to talk about being in the business for 25+ years you should be more capable at fillings (thought dentists do 1 or 2 of these a year). Overall, Colleen looks at her patients as wallets to help her fatten her pockets. She performs unnecessary procedures to obtain insurance money and then over bills for the procedures ($50 in my case). She will find ways to use up your entire insurance premium each year. Please, trust your teeth to someone who is competent in the dentistry field. read more

Except they are 3x more expensive then other providers in the area, they lost $40 of our money and can't tell us where it went and refused to admit we paid it.. We pre paid for the dental work and had a overage, that overage was $40 yet they billed us months later.. Really? I wouldn't go back here if they paid me to, what kind of business looses your money, and over charges you then waits until months later to bill you? RUN FAR AWAY. Dr Colleen Tracy and her staff provide absolute top notch dental care weather its standard cleaning, filings & crowns or orthodontics. I should know as I have experienced all of these services at her clinic. I just finished my invisilign program and the results are incredible. She was able to close a huge gap between my front teeth that had been a lifelong embarrassment. The invisilign program was painless, fast and much cheaper than traditional braces. Best part was nobody ever knew that I had braces on. Several years ago my dentist retired and I was referred to Colleen by a family member. Upon my first visit I was stunned by the technology that Colleen was using in her practice. Comparing my old dentist to Dr Tracy was like comparing a rotary phone to an iPhone. Had my first appointment with Dr. Tracy this past Tuesday. Changed after several bad experiences with my previous dentist. I have a couple friends that see her & rave about her - so I gave it a whirl. The waiting room is so nice & updated without that weird dentist office smell (am I the only one that notices that weird smell most seem to have?!?). Front desk lady is welcoming with a good sense of humor :-). My appointment was on time. Holy moly - they are the most thorough dentist I've ever been to. X-rays & pictures etc to make sure I get the care I need. I definitely felt like nothing would get missed. Then Dr. Tracy cane in to talk & do some evaluations. She has a way about her that put me at ease. She almost reminds me of a favorite auntie type person. I felt no weirdness or worry like I have with past dentists. I was impressed with the intuitiveness of my hygienist. I'm hypersensitive to things like noise/light/touch - and when I'm nervous it is further heightened. The hygienist must have noticed my body language - I was trying to suffer through that high pitch sonic pain noise (that causes me to see colors it is so loud & high) - she stopped & checked on me and said she wanted to try a different method (more of a sand blasting) - because she felt I was uncomfortable - I was! It was a messier option but calmed me right down & did a faaaaaaabulous job. My teeth haven't felt this smooth since I was a teen - and even the tea stains were removed!! Woohoo - no whitener needed! The check out process was easy peasy & I was on my way. I'm so pleased I've FINALLY found a dentist I'm happy & comfortable to stay with! The last 3 I didn't like from the beginning but stayed because changing dentists is a hassle. Dr. Tracy better not be retiring for a long while :-D. read more

I was sorry to find that after a good first impression, this office ended up being the worst at up sells of any dentist I've seen. They even went to the extent of saying I shouldn't eat an apple whole or my teeth might fall out. They also took these fancy pictures with fancy technology to increase their scare tactics, which were only that. Often it's just the dentist up selling (suggesting that I need special work or treatments that I don't) but in this case the hygienist was also fully onboard ( with the apple warning for example). The only reason I gave them a 2 instead of a 1 is because of their fabulous front office person, Victoria. She was honest and compassionate and a true pleasure in working with this office. read more

I became a new patient of Dr. Tracy's a few months ago. The staff members at the front desk are affable and courteous. They take the time to know your name, remember the little details, and answer all the questions you have. Surprisingly, they do a good job of creating a calming atmosphere. They have tv's and music for you to listen to during your visit so you do not have to hear the piercing sound of the drill. The dental assistants/hygienist also help in keeping you comfortable, offering you water or a blanket... or really anything you need! Dr.Tracy is very knowledgeable and will always explain the details of your oral health in a way that you can understand. She is quite thorough e.g. she looks at your mouth for more than the typical 20 seconds (which I have had many dentist do). Each time I see her she goes above and beyond. During a major dental procedure I recently underwent she made sure to rub my jaw several times and let me tell you this was GENIUS. After 2.5 hours of having my mouth open you would think I would be in considerable pain, but I was not. The next day she even gave me a follow up call to make sure I was doing okay. I hate dentists. Dr. Tracy explained her certifications and that dentists are specially trained in injections and the facial anatomy which put me at ease. When my husband and I first moved up to the Seattle area from SW Washington/Portland area my husband went to see Dr. Tracy for his dental needs. I was already seeing a different dentist in Mukilteo and he insisted on staying at this office. When I went to an appointment with my husband (since he needed a driver) I listened and observed at the appointment. First thing when Dr. Tracy shook my hand and met me she mentioned right off the bat that I needed braces and other treatment. First off, shut the front door right there sister, oh no you didn't! Then she goes on to tell me all the work me and my husband needs and it can't wait. First off, I wasn't her patient and second Insurance only covers X amount of dollars per year then it's patient responsibility. Did they expect me to be a cash cow after that? So needless to say my first 5 minutes in the door of this place was already leaving a bad taste in my mouth (if I could put it into perspective I would say vomit burp). Then after the appointments they ask for money, estimated patient portion. NOW PAY ATTENTION: If there is one thing anyone can take away from reading this review it is read your EOB's people! Know your insurance, be an educated patient, call your insurance and ask questions about your coverage. I followed all my husband's EOB's and we were over paying every angle time. Do you think my husband knew? Noo he just willingly gives his card after every appointment and they keep racking up extra credits. Then I call the receptionist and harass them I want to pick up a refund check today, I won't wait any more. I showed them all my EOBs and it was X and they made me pay Y which was more than X. If I didn't read my EOBs and know how much insurance covered and what my portion was, they would have never said a word or told me I'm overpaying. I could tell that this office just cared about money money money. I picked up that refund check that day and told my husband you are never going back there again! I've made him go to my dentist and I am happy no one in my family is a patient at this office. I felt Dr. Tracy was not genuine. One word to sum up: MONEY HUNGRY! read more

It is always difficult to find a dentist. I don't have to elaborate but if we read reviews on dental office experiences, we can all see why. It's not even the dentophobia. It took me time to search, research and ended choosing this office. I checked their websites- they had multiple at the time. Anyhow, I was impressed enough to make an appointment. After I checked in and completed all paperwork, I asked if I was going to get the free teeth whitening. It was not very important, but since there was a promo offer on the website, I thought, might as well (not too hopeful, though bec. in the past, dental offices failed to deliver such promo freebies like electric toothbrushes, whitening etc. there was always a catch. My previous dentist did not even hand the usual new patient freebies such as toothbrushes, floss, paste). The front desk lady asked where I saw it (free whitening). I said, in one of your websites. She asked which website and also stated there was no such promo. I just let it go as I wanted to proceed with the appt. I was starting to have misgivings, though. I did all the routine and at one point, expressed to Dr Tracy my desire to have my front teeth cosmetically "fixed". So at the end of the procedure I was sent to a room to be shown treatment and costs. But before a rep could come in Dr Tracy came in asking me if I just wanted teeth whitening. In a manner like questioning if I was only after the new patent free whitening. Also kept asking what I really wanted. I asked her what was best for nice appearing teeth, or generally just to have a better smile (I had uneven front teeth). However, she kept asking me what I wanted. What I needed done. I got confused... I thought she would be the one to know, especially after probing, peering at them, and looking at my dental x-rays just minutes ago. I must have looked so baffled that she had had to call one of her staff who could speak my language and started interpreting lol. I DO speak, write and understand and can think in English excellently, thank you very much. But then my "interpreter", had a thicker accent and bad grammar. I explained to her what I needed (in our language) but she actually struggled to translate lol. The lady dentist was getting frustrated, I was starting to get upset but mostly feeling somewhat degraded. I really wanted to bolt that HOLDING room. Then someone saved my day. Dr Tracy's father came in and intervened. Straight away he said, all I needed were veneers. And he explained what it involves but went on and on about insurance, well, there was actually some ranting against insurance companies. Which I had forgiven him for as he semed like a very kind grandpa, and could've possibly given me better care and kind treatment and great bedside manners, if he was still practicing. On my way out, I was stopped to schedule future appointments and declined. I couldn't ran away fast enough. That evening I received an e-mail from Victoria asking to schedule. I replied just thanking but declining. I received more e-mails asking about my experience but I never replied again. They've ben quite persistent sending regular reminders to make appointments. It is so sad that it is hard to find a dentist to stick with. I feel like dentistry is more of a business unit than part of healthcare. read more

I gave 1 star only because you have to at least give 1 and she doesn't even deserve that one. I went to Dr. Colleen in 2011 had over $3,000 worth of work done. I have never gone to a dentist that had created so much pain for me in my intire life. I've always kept up on my dental care, I've had crowns done before and the one that she did when she replace the temp with the crown and seeted it giving me a shot of novacaine when I didn't need before I was in so much pain, I went in before going to work and in order to get thru my shift at work I had taken so much Tylenol, aleve and Advil and was still in so much pain. Then she replace amalgam fillings with ceramic fillings and was in so much pain she had to prescribe pain meds for me. All the fillings feel strange they don't feel normal, but that's her new technology. I don't recommend her to any one, no one should go thru as much pain as I did when I went to her. I had never experienced pain with any dentist I went to before. When patients request pain meds she should wonder what she did that would cause the patient to need the pain meds in the first place.... read more

Dr. Tracy and her staff was helping out the community on 9/15/2012 by offering free emergency dental for people that can not other wise afford to get work done. I can not say enough about how great she is. I went in there thinking that I would need two cavities filled and was in some pain. I told her what i happen been experiencing and provide her the document that my primary dentist gave me saying what work I needed done but could not afford to get done as I only have basic dental. She could not understand how my dentist said I need $2700 dollars worth of work, when all the problem was I was grinding my teeth and need to have them aliened and fix the bite. She did that by sanding a few of my teeth down a little. I can say today 24hr later I am pain free. I have been in pain for 5 months as I thought I needed cavities filled and could not afford it. All I needed was a slit aliment of my teeth. read more
