Thanks to Groupon I know this gym exists. For under 75 bucks I got three months of membership as…read morewell as having the card fee waived. Now, I figured that was just some sort of stupid extra fee they tacked on to make it seem like I was getting more for my money. However, I didn't know that Diverge is actually open 24 hours and since they're not staffed the entire time the card key is actually quite integral to working out there-so it really is significant. The space is pretty small, but I'm so used to mega gyms that I think my sense of scale is off. However, they do have plenty of space for a little bit of everything. Cardio machines, racks, hammer strength machines, kettlebells, ropes, a little heavy bag and even bags, yes a bag filled with sand, it's one of those old/new trends that are becoming in vogue for fitness. The staff is super friendly, I've mostly interacted with Cindy who walked me through the place and is extremely friendly. J.P. is the other person I've spoken to the most and he's always amiable, and glad to see me here and inviting. I'm asked if I'm going to work out today whenever I walk in, even on my first day when I just came to sign up. Obviously, they really do care about being a place that cares for my fitness goals. Amenity wise I can not say enough, a cooler stacked with water bottles, towels of every different size for the weight floor, the sinks and showers. Shampoo, body wash, razors, cologne, even disposable toothbrushes with toothpaste in them. I literally have no reason to leave the gym if I forget anything. They have everything covered and I have no excuses.

My parents live in Columbus and I'm always on the search for a place to workout when I go visit…read morethem. I usually call around to various places looking to see if they offer drop-in rates. The problem I usually run into is that the locations don't offer anyone on-site on the weekends so I'm unable to pop in for a workout. Diverge offers a $15 drop-in rate. This is pretty steep for a one-time visit, but I thought I'd give it a try since they are close to my where my parents live. I had to hit a buzzer and wait for someone to come to the door and let me in. The guy working the front desk gave me a mini-orientation and showed me where everything was located. This place is pretty small, but they offer a large variety of equipment. They have very few cardio machines. I typically do group fitness classes so I tend to stick to the elliptical if I can't do my usual workouts. I headed over to the elliptical machines and started my workout. They have flat screens right in front of each machine if you like to watch tv. I more of a music person so I didn't watch the tv. I worked out for an hour on two different days and did not see another female either time. Good for me, I guess? All in all, this is a nice gym with really good equipment. I'm not sure what the monthly rates are, but I would think they are on the higher end based on the drop-in rate. They have a cooler with water bottles if you happen to leave yours at home.

I had a great time here this morning. Group high intensity fitness classes with a very personal…read moreexperience. I received a free session from a local charity event. I came in, received a tour from Summer and scheduled a 6:15 AM session later in the week. The evening before my class I received a quick phone call from one of the coaches to encourage me and give me tips for success. I arrived early the morning of my appointment, grabbed a locker (you don't need to bring a lock) and heart rate monitor. Coach Mike took myself and two other "newbies" into the gym, explained the workout and all the equipment. The class was an endurance workout where we varied intensity levels trying to stay in the "orange" heart rate area for at least 12 of the 52 minutes. Softest treadmills ever! I loved it and am signing up for a monthly package. I have a full review on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/f2lUybSMQkc

I've attended Orangetheory for several years and have always appreciated the workouts themselves…read more That part has remained consistently strong. However, the overall studio environment has changed quite a bit recently, and not in a positive direction. There has been frequent turnover in management, and the current leadership style feels disconnected from member input. Decisions are often made without considering how they affect the people who attend classes regularly. In addition, when classes are full, coaches and staff sometimes join in and share stations. This goes against the purpose of a capped class size and affects the structure that members are paying for. It's also uncomfortable to see staff reaching for heavier weights before paying members have the chance to do so. Another concern is the increase in talking during workouts, with little to no correction from the coach. It creates a distracting atmosphere and takes away from the focus many of us come for. There also seems to be a noticeable social divide; if you're not part of a certain group, it's easy to feel singled out or talked about. At times, the environment resembles a high‑school team dynamic--lots of side conversations, drama, and inconsistent effort. The workouts themselves are great, but the studio culture has shifted toward something that doesn't match the premium price point. Many of us come here to train seriously, not to feel like we're in a casual gym setting

I signed up for the trial online and nobody called me back, so I went down there this morning…read more Maybe this is why nobody called me back.... They said I'm disqualified from the 7 day trial because I had a membership when they were on Airport Thruway. THAT WAS 12 YEARS AGO! They weren't even called Max Fitness then. Not even in the same location, different name. You'd think they at least let me do the 7 days or maybe even 3 days to see if I want to come to this place on the regular or not. I think that's a bit petty. It was really crowded. Lot of people just standing around looking as opposed to actually working out. I guess it's a beauty contest. LOL Update: I forgot to mention they have a lot of workout equipment compared to other places, but it is really congested in there. Even though my initial experience wasn't great, I'd consider this place as they are open 24 hours several days during the week. That's why I wanted to use the guest pass a few days to see what would be the best time for me to come here, as I mentioned it was super crowded at 5am. I do not like how one of their classes is in the middle of the main area as I feel classes should be in a room, as opposed to having an area roped off. It's already tight in there, let's think. Good luck, fair winds and following seas!

UPDATE Megan Morgan left a message on my daughter's phone as if I had not left a detailed message…read moredays before. My daughter then sent a detailed email that has recieved no response. It is now June. My baby is afraid of the pool. Sees other kids going to swim lessons and asks if we're going to make him go back to that place and no refund. I don't know what I expected from a place that was so rude and wouldn't suspend my account when I was paralyzed from the neck down in a hospital 2 hrs away. I registered my grandson for preschool swim lessons. I registered him for intermediate instead of beginner so the Aquatics Director, Megan Morgan told my daughter(she's the one that took me grandson) that she would leave it up to the teacher. The teacher allowed him in. Great. He's excited he loves the water and wants to swim. Within minutes of class starting my daughter starts texting me. She said there were 2 kids in class that were acting up the teacher didn't get them under control. One of them stepped on my grandson so he started crying. The teacher picked him up for about 1.5min then put him back in the water between the 2 kids. She then told the kids to put there faces under the water to blow bubbles and bc he was smaller and BETWEEN the 2 kids he got choked not even having put his face under water. At this point he's screaming and coughing and the teacher is ignoring him while he's hanging on the wall. My daughter went and took him out of the pool got him dressed and left. This is a child that rarely cries when he gets hurt. Later that evening he asked his mom several times to please never make him go back. So in the span of 25min we went from having an excited water loving 3yr old to a terrified 3yr old that has had nightmares since. I left a message the next day for Ms. Morgan outlining everything and asking for a refund. I still have not heard back. I called the morning of 3/25/25. #chrisbryant #ymcaceo
