When I got back, Cody's truck was gone, there were a lot of cut sheets of tile, but nothing on the wall and no Cody. I found a message from him on Yelp asking me to call him, which I did. It turns out he has "lost confidence" and abandoned the job. He said he tried to tell my wife before leaving, but she was unaware of this. When I spoke to Cody on the phone he indicated that I didn't owe him anything, and did offer to put me in touch with someone he felt could do the job. I didn't go with his recommendation mainly because I didn't have enough trust in him to make that choice. The guy I did hire was able to reuse some of the cut tile Code had left, but we needed to buy 5 more sheets nevertheless. There may be lots of things Cody is good at, but tiling a backsplash with herringbone tile sheets is not one of them, and abandoning a job is just not OK.

We went with Liberty Fencing because they were honest upfront about being generally more expensive, however, the quality of work done is important to us so we did not have any issues with paying more than the other quotes we received. I highly suggest you dig deep into this company before spending money with them. Instantly, the first 3 contracts sent by the salesman, had our names, address, price and "follow the grade" box incorrect and unchecked. After informing him 3 separate times of the issues, he fixed everything but the grade box. We let him know the grade box was still unchecked, however signed the contract as we texted him 3 times to confirm they would follow the grade as requested. He confirmed. The first day the crew left we noticed the fence panels were not following the grade leaving huge gaps under our fence (troublesome because we have small dogs and children). We texted our salesman several times addressing the issue which was not met with any urgency as the production team came out the following day and continued to work. We had to go out and stop them from working but due to the language barrier, it was difficult to explain and we had to speak with the production manager over the phone. The production team then started pounding down the fence posts deeper into the dirt they added the day previous. Because of the newly added dirt, the rain washed it away leaving the gaps just a few days after this fence was installed. We called and had a higher up come out to look at the fence and the gaps to which he admitted to how nice and even the top of the fence post was, which was exactly what we did not want or ask for. We screenshot the text chain between the salesman where he confirmed several times that they would follow the grade. Even after 3 attempts to "fix" the fence, they have not done so. We were failed by the salesman and the production team and we had to pay the price for it. Unfortunately, we will have to spend additional money to a new company for them to come out and fix the issue. We will not be calling Liberty fencing even with the 5 year warranty. Minor inconveniences that would not have been mentioned had the quality of our fence been good: The production team left cigarettes and water bottle caps all over our backyard. They also left little square plastic pieces from the panels in the road for us to clean up. They shredded 6 foot of ferns and aloe plants without asking us or advising us that they needed to do that. (They knew they were there as they had worked around them on the first day but shredded them on the 2nd day. I would have moved the aloe plants prior to work starting on the 2nd day if I knew they would destroy them). The bottom of my gate had a large gap to which they nailed in a panel on the bottom looking like a huge eyesore. I would highly suggest using a different company. Literally the worst $8300 we have ever spent

Then when they came to install, they argued with my husband on where it should be and offered to MOVE A SPRINKLER! And then they still placed it wrong. I had to call and tell them it had to be fixed.They came back and installed it correctly but left a big mess because of the move. Then I thought because of everything I had to go through to get it installed, they could give me a break so I didn't even ask for a discount, I just asked if I could pay the bill one day later than they wanted. They put the fence up on the 4th, sent me a past due bill on the 5th and then had to have it paid by the 8th or I would get a fee charge. I asked if I could pay it on the 9th for personal reasons. The girl on the phone took a breath and wouldn't even answer. Their customer service after the sale is abysmal. I was a good customer, I did my part of the work, I paid on time and I asked for one bit of flexibility. Any company would have done me a courtesy. I never even got an apology for the mistake they made on my fence. They should have given me a discount for the mess they made of my backyard and the trouble they put me though. Good lord, how do you miss 93 feet of fence WITH A HOLE IN IT - which we were talking about fixing during the quote because the dog escapes through it. Tried to blame us for them missing it. Do a lot of people buy the top of the line fence and then have 2/3rds of a super nice fence and keep 1/3 falling down hole in it crappy wood fence standing? We got, oh, that will be another $3k Customer service, yeah, the lady who books it on the phone is okay, the salesman doesn't care there are mistakes & neither does mgmt. To top it off, they left a sample of the post caps for the HOA to review and approve and then gave us some really cheap lame cap instead of the nice one. Bait & switch much? Even if I judged how they did on the actual install, there's a 4 inch gap between the side they installed and the back brick wall. Not one thing went right except the nice lady on the phone which doesn't make up for the rest of the shady stuff. Gave them 3 chances to make it right and well... here you are reading this. At 130 lbs my Rottweiler could probably take on most of the little critters but as they had pulled a 9-footer out about a week before we arrived, I wasn't taking any chances. As always, I obtained 3 quotes, Campanella were the 2nd company to arrive. Sal turned up 20 mins early just for the quote, a good start, he is a no nonsense to the point talker but you get the impression he knows his job and he will do it properly, not something I got form the others. I had already decided on Campanella before the quotes came in, great to say they were also the best quote, so I agreed the contract. It took about 3 weeks for the license to come through (Brevard Council are not the fastest) but one approved, Campanella dropped off the materials on the Friday to start Tuesday ( Storm was forecast at weekend and Monday was Memorial Day). Tuesday 8.00am they were all here and set about my new fence, Florida is hot, but Sal and his team worked like Trojans, my fence was complete by 1.00pm amazing work. I can't thank Sal and his team enough; he knows his stuff her tells it like it is and he delivers on time no fuss no messing and competitive on price. What more do you want.
