Firstly, Craig and Tim were both great to work with. I felt comfortable with both of them from the start. I am a meticulous DIYer, and have high expectations for the work on my house. I also wanted to do some pieces of the projects myself to save some money. They worked around my schedule, and we were able to do everything we wanted. We asked to have regular meetings to connect about plans and progress and to go over any work. Whenever there was something we wanted fixed, they were quick to take action and made things right. They were also always happy to take a call or answer a text, and they kept us in the loop every step of the way. Because I'm used to doing it all myself, and they were usually working while I was away, this really helped me to feel a part of what was going on! Not only was the quote we received from Strong Builders VERY competitive, they stayed on budget! Any increases were due to choices we made along the way and were always talked about in advance. We knew just what to expect and there were no surprises at the end. The whole team was friendly and polite. My wife always felt safe at home while they were there, and I appreciated what a clean job site they kept. I was also impressed with some of their creative solutions to challenges in the project. We highly recommend requesting George for any tile project you might have. He worked with precision and always checked to make sure we were satisfied. We were annoyingly particular and he happily met our OCD-like expectations! Donado (sp?) was their jack-of-all-trades and around all the time. We hired Jose to put pavers in our back yard. He quoted us the lowest price of 3 estimates. I was…read morehappy with the work overall, but he's not into details to do his best job. He put a retainer strip with stakes where the artificial grass ends and the pavers start. I told him it didn't look like a finished product and sent him pictures of how it looked and how it should look. He finally said that he should've asked me because other people like the strip and I wanted the pavers butted up to the grass. He did offer to send his worker back, but my husband fixed it. It looks a little better but not quite like the picture. I noticed he didn't show up at the end to check the work his workers did. Then there's the issue with my dad who lives next to me to do a 3 x 3 pad of cement. He quoted him $200 for labor plus 3 bags of cement ($10 a bag). Then when they finished my job, his main worker asked me if my dad would want pavers because they had enough left overs from my job. I asked if it would be more money and he said I don't think the boss will charge more, they are your pavers. So they did it! A few days later Jose shows up and says my dad owes him $350. When I asked, why; he said the pavers he used, and I said but those pavers were mine. He said No they are his and we went back and forth. My dad is a 90 year old man and I don't think is right to just raise the price without letting the person know. Jose said to pay him $300 and I still think it's wrong because we paid for the pavers and he discounted the amount from the estimate he gave us. Am I wrong? and Am I too picky?

I've worked with handymen before who barely even try, so seeing the extra care he took immediately made me trust him in my home. My son picked a very vibrant green paint color, which unfortunately ended up needing 3 coats, but Eugene stayed committed to making sure the final result looked right. I really appreciated that he stayed late to get it done properly instead of rushing through it. He did arrive late and brought his dog with him, which may not be for everyone, but overall I appreciated his work ethic, attention to detail, and dedication to making sure the job turned out well. Mr. Hart has a great eye for color and goes that extra step to get it right. For example, my kitchen cabinets were manufactured with color, but they needed touch up. A cabinet door was taken to Home Depot for them to mix custom paint. However, Mr. Hart was not satisfied. There I was with a son that was coming home for winter break, and there wasn't a door for his bedroom. I called NUMEROUS handymen in the morning, and I received very high prices since I wanted same day service. I called Wilfredo asking how soon he would be able to install an interior door, and he stated he would be able to do it the following day. He gave me a price for the following day, and I then asked if he would be able to do it today. He squeezed me into his schedule, and installed it in the evening! He did NOT charge me extra for same day service. I am thankful that Wilfredo was nice enough to work in the evening just so that I would have the door installed before my son arrives. In fact, when he arrived I asked him if he could do a couple other things, and he went to home depot just to get those additional items. They wore those booties on their shoes so that they wouldn't trail in dirt from outdoors. They covered their working area. They also vacuumed afterwards! The workmanship was AWESOME! I've asked Wilfredo to fit me into his schedule so that he could give me an estimate for a floor in my attic. By the time he left my house, it was too dark for him to take measurements of my attic.
