We have been an All Guard customer for many years and would definitely recommend them. We just upgraded our alarm system and also had security cameras installed. Our installer was very respectful of our property, leaving the work area clean and safe after each day of installation. He also patiently explained the Apps that allow us to monitor, record and control the system remotely. A few weeks ago, we had a real-world test of the upgraded system. We reviewed the recorded camera footage and easily isolated the relevant sections which we sent to the police to help in the investigation. read more

Stay away!!! This company bought out my contract from "Armor Clad Security". I got tired of paying $46 a month for about 4 years now so I called them today to cancel the service only to find out they put me on a automatic yearly contract without my signature!!! I'm not sure how these people get away with this!!! I HATE BEING UNDER CONTRACTS! Under my signed contract I was only supposed to be under contract for 2 years then it's always been month to month, but then this company "All-guard alarm systems inc" comes around and make changes without my approval or signature. DO NOT SIGN OR GET THIS COMPANY AS YOUR ALARM MONITORING SERVICE. They are professionals at entrapment. Still trying to get out of this fake "contract" they made up when they bought "Armor Clad Security". I never signed any new contract with this company, they just made one up for me without my signature. I then had my wife call and they told her they needed a 30 day notice to cancel and we would have to pay yet another $46 for the Month of May. A week later I was testing my alarm and found out they were not monitoring our home for the month of May despite asking us to pay and receiving the funds as normally scheduled. My wife then called again and they denied asking us to pay for the month of May. If we hadn't tested our alarm during the last month of service, we would not have know that this company pockets the last months fees and does not provide any monitoring for that last month. It was only because we caught them in the act, that we were able to ask for our money back for month of May! Do not use this company! read more

This is more of a warning about what can only be described as horrific contracts. I have been a customer of All-guard Alarm Systems for 22 years, and was just recently advised by a friend that he too had All-guard Alarm and that he was paying $25.00 per month. I was shocked...because they are charging me $32.00 per month for the identical service and he has only been a customer for about 11 years. I called to complain about this...and possibly get my rates dropped. All-guard customer service told me I was already getting a good deal and to be happy with it. I then said that I wanted to cancel my service which is stated as a monthly service and paid as such. They told me that I couldn't cancel until mid-2012 because I have an annual contract that renews automatically, forever, every April and that I would have to pay for an entire year which started this month. So much for being a LOYAL CUSTOMER for 22 years. Prior to the time of the installation, I was not even advised of this. I didn't have any choice once they were finished with the installation. So beware of alarm companies that are SUPPOSED to protect you! They may be the ones you need protection from. read more

Sales (North Bay office): Excellent with good follow-up, follow-through and clear, concise explanations. No pressure or "scare" tactics; just good knowledge shown and good solutions proposed. Installation (North Bay office): Excellent all around. Knowledgeable, thorough, clean install at work site with good communication skills throughout the process. Monitoring Service (Hayward office): unknown (and the only reason review is not a full 5 stars) but, hopefully, will be as good as the Sales and Installation process (and will update this review if the Monitoring Service ever needs to actually be used). Yes; after obtaining quotes from 3 alarm companies, would recommend All-Guard. Regarding critical Yelp reviews of this and other alarm companies: almost all of them (negative reviews) concern the monitoring service contract, and, it appears, the buyer's possible unfamiliarity with the contract signed. Yes; the monitoring contract is for 3 years (which seems to be the current industry norm). Yes; there are penalties for "early withdrawal." Yes; moving away from the installed alarm system does not settle or remove a buyer's 3-year contractual obligations. Yes; the contract is "evergreen" and auto-renews (another industry norm, it appears) and requires 30-day advance notice of non-renewal. Two VERY strong suggestions for this or any other alarm company purchase: 1. Read and understand the contract (both the purchase and the monitoring service contracts); a signed contract is a legal obligation that BOTH parties must fulfill under the conditions stated. The buyer has responsibilities under the terms on the contract; know what they are and follow them. If there are concerns, state them before signing the contract and attempt to negotiate a change, if possible. ALWAYS note any mutually agreed-upon change in the body of the signed contract; 2. Even though an installer should review the system's proper operation before leaving the install-site, the new owner should still read and understand the Owner's Manual for the system purchased. Suggestion: read the manual once when the system is brand new; then read it again a few weeks later after all users have been operating the system for awhile. Following the above two steps should go a very long way towards avoiding problems and misunderstandings. read more

I have had four false alarms go off in the span of 4 days when I was out of town. The police were called and everything was in tact. All Guard did not call or notify me of the problem; the police dept. called to inform me. I have been a long time customer but this is terrible customer service. This business is good at calling you in the middle of the night, pursuing bills you don't owe, but not at providing good service. The system was often down, and frankly we just didn't use it. Like the guy in Modesto, I originally signed with Iron Clad for 3 years which was then sold to All Guard, paid monthly for another couple of years, and then (becuase the system hadn't been working for a full 9 months) decided to let them know I would be stopping my service. Was informed that I "missed the cancellation date" by a month, and was auto renewed for a full year for another 300 bucks. They sent me to collections. I have been a customer for over a four years. Great customer service and very courteous staff. Today, I had a technician come out as one of the sensors didn't appear to be working. As it turned out, I had not installed the battery properly. The technician had me talk to the manager, and he waived the service charge, $97. It was very generous and nice of him. Regardless of this, I have always had a wonderful experience whenever I called them. I would highly recommend All Guard to anyone who is looking for home security system. read more

A few months ago I was working from home, sitting at my kitchen table with my laptop, when an alarm sounded. It didn't sound like the "break-in" alarm, so I checked out the All-Guard key pad screen which clearly indicated carbon monoxide detected on my upstairs landing. I was sure it must be an error so I called All-Guard to find out how to turn it off. The All-Guard rep told me that, just to be safe, she would call PG & E and that I should call the Fire Department. She gave me my local non-emergency number. Three firefighters arrived in less than 5 minutes and immediately went through the house opening doors and windows while I got the pets out. Upstairs they found the carbon monoxide level at well over 70 ppm. Not good. PG & E and my HVAC company arrived shortly after and began to investigate the source (it turned out to be an interaction between my gas fireplace and the heater which the fire fighters had suggested it might be.) Carbon monoxide has no smell and, of course, is invisible. If I hadn't bought the inexpensive CM detector, I would have never known anything was wrong. My family, including our cat and small dog, could have gone to bed and never woken up. The experience was weird and left me rattled but thankful. I could have purchased plug-in detectors from the hardware store, but the PG & E rep told me the plug-ins don't provide early detection. Besides, what if I'm not at home? If I was away, no one would hear the alarm and the pets could die. But when an All-Guard alarm activates, All-Guard calls me. I can't tell you how many times I have silently thanked All-Guard for the carbon monoxide detector and alarm - for suggesting it at installation and for making the price so reasonable that it only made sense to say yes. We just installed a door access system with All-Guard for our business and couldn't be more pleased. We used ADT on our first business location and the experience was awful - high-pressure sales, long waits on hold, and a generally impersonal experience. All-Guard was sooo much better! Randall was our sales rep and a genuinely nice and knowledgeable person to work with. Super responsive - he even came out on Easter weekend to fix a problem we had created. Jose, the installer, was very professional and diligent and pleasant to work with. And Steve in the service department has been extremely helpful with our system set up, answering all of my questions, and customizing it to our needs. I'm also really liking the Virtual Keypad App and talking to them about switching our other business over to this system, as well. read more

Recently, they needed an upgrade to their system and the entire process was pleasant. Very knowledgeable techs--and I can't say enough about Lior Klisman, the rep who helped with the upgrade. We had this vendor for 3 years at our business. Their technicians are excellent as far as the hardware goes and quick to respond. Software end user help is not so strong. We weren't told they offered a webpage for that help until we had to cancel and move out of the building. If you sign a service contract with them, you might want to negotiate out any language that states you automatically renew annually. If you don't, you will have to pay for a whole year of service - or whatever their contract says these days. read more

When we first signed up for alarm service about 10 years ago it was through a company called Alarm Express who just in the last year or so sold the company to All Guard Systems. We have not had any problems with until the last couple days. The sensor on are back door malfunctioned and are alarm went off at 1:30am. I grabbed my gun and bright ass flash light I went all through the house and nothing was out of place all the doors were locked and secure same for the windows. I then went to the alarm pad and shut it off. The alarm was going off for at least 2 min. Only after I disarmed the alarm did All Guard call and ask if everything was ok. I explained to them that the back door sensor malfunctioned. The operator then told me to call service in the morning and have someone come out. Know this is where it gets real interesting. I called service at 8am that morning and they told me it was a $50 trip fee and $120 per hour NOT including parts at a 1 hour min. I asked her what could cause the sensor to malfunction ( her not knowing the techy guy I am ) and she told me they would have to send someone out to tell me what caused it. I then asked her if it could be the battery in the sensor. She told me she was unsure and would have to send someone out. Keep in mind it was going to cost me a min of $170 just to find out what the problem was. I then asked her about having some other things added to the system why the guy was out here if I was going to pay for a hours of work I was going to get that hour. One other thing I should have told you all reading this. Alarm Express came out 2 years ago and put in a new system for us after a house fire that we paid $1400 for. Now back to the story. The service agent proceeded to tell me that they do not service are type of alarm system because it was to old. I then told her how this system is only 2 years old and was put in by Alarm Express. She told me well we cant service your unit because it is not one of our systems and that system you cant add things to it anymore. What in the hell is this gal talking about. I looked in the owners manual that I had in front of me and told her is states I can have up to 24 zones on this system and I only have 10 at this time. She then put me on hold for about 5 min. When she came back on the line she informed me that they could add to the system they would just have to order the parts that I wanted. Ok sounds good I told her. How much are the sensors and the siren going to cost me? I asked. Again on hold for 5 min. She gets back on the line and tell me she well have to call me back so she can get the prices from the company they order from. She stated she would call me back in 15 min.. All day and not phone call. .I called the following day and talked with someone different who gave me a different story on adding sensors and a different price. Now it was only $38 to come out plus $100 a hour. I told the guy the prices I was told the day before and he put me on hold. When he came back on the phone it told me he was wrong the price I was told yesterday is the right prices. Ok I said how about the sensors. He told me that he would have to call me back and never did. At this point I gave up and fixed the sensor myself and also found out how to order and add new sensors myself. We decided to call some of our family and friends who have ADT and not one of them had a complaint so I called ADT and within a day they had a rep out to our house and said he can use everything we already have just for safety reason suggested we replace the alarm pad and use one of their systems. Price was fair and we planned the install. .Now we are 4 days after I talked to All Guard and received a letter in the mail giving me the prices I wanted 4 days ago. Trip charge $38 Labor $68 Parts $100. I just throw the letter out along with the bill for the next 3 months and said screw it I am done with a company that cant do what they say they are going to do. So long All Guard. If you are looking for a alarm system for your house do not use this company. What a hellish deal I had to go through with them. read more

I highly recommend getting multiple quotes when searching for a service. I never had an issue with the equipment I purchased or the monitoring service. It was installed quickly and easy to use. Their customer service on the other hand is mostly unresponsive and untrained unless they are collecting money. They capitalize on your personal vulnerability. Word of caution. Be careful when dealing with this "family business". It's a selling tactic they use and I generally like to support small business. I was really wrong this time. I just sold my home and am making sure the future buyers use anyone but them. I rarely write reviews and have waited over a week to post this to make sure I was being as objective as possible. Just be careful when dealing with these people and read the other reviews. To quote another reviewers comment " I was legally robbed". I would give this company zero stars.All Guard was the alarm monitoring company for my business Chabot Veterinary Hospital, for many years after they bought the previous company that had been doing our monitoring in 2007 .We had an old system that needed upgrading which All Guard did. We were reassured that all the same points of entry that were part of the old system would be on their new upgraded system .Recently we discovered that one of the two main doors to our building was not part of the security system as we assumed for so many years. All Guard was called and the technician told us that the door in question had never been a part of their security system because the wiring on that door was not compatible with the alarm panel they had installed years earlier..I asked him why we were not made aware of that way back then and his response was you should have told us that the building had old wiring it is the customer's responsibility to tell us what they want, WHAT !? I said are you serious you guys are the experts here.The tech then said perhaps we declined to upgrade the wiring, or maybe we could not afford to do the job at the time. I told him he had no idea what he was talking about and that we were never informed of this ( which the receptionist at All Guard confirmed after looking at the paper work from that day because I called to complain about the idiot that had been sent out). Bottom line is All Guard took no responsibility for this and their solution was to come back out and do the job for about $900.00.I refused and fired them as the alarm monitoring company for my business since I had no faith or trust in them at all anymore. Well we canceled a few weeks past the contract deadline and we were told we had to pay $444.00 for the remainder of the year. No way they were at fault .I offered to pay for the remainder of the month as a goodwill gesture but All Guard refused. I refuse to pay them anything especially since we did not get the monitoring service or security protection we had been paying for all those years. The account was sent to a collection agency which will not get one cent from us as well.It was worth it to be rid of this unprofessional, deceptive company that uses it's contract to scam people and businesses. They are the worse company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. FYI we have a local company PSS Electronics doing the monitoring now and they did the complete rewiring job for half of what All Guard was going to charge us in addition the quarterly fee is much less than All Guards as well. Get rid of All Guard . I would highly recommend you switch to a company like PSS who knows what they are doing and are reliable, reasonable, professional and trust worthy and, where customer service comes first. My landlord recommended All-Guard after several break-ins in our commercial building. From the start, All-Guard was so easy to work with. I told the person on the phone that I needed someone to come out immediately. As it was near the holidays, the schedule was tight, but when I explained that I wanted to get a system in place before leaving town for a short trip, she made sure that Lior came out for a quote right away and she assured me that, if I wanted to move forward, the system could be installed before my trip. Lior was terrific-- very informative, professional and direct. He assessed the situation and made a recommendation that seemed appropriate. The installation occurred a few days later. My installer was an absolute professional--very experienced and detail oriented. I love my system! Especially the fact that I can operate it remotely from my phone. I have absolute peace of mind when I am away from my workplace. All-Guard is wonderful and I highly recommend them. read more
