Wish the workers would wear masks or assure us the items were cleaned. But otherwise amazing! Very fun!

We started throwing in leagues here at end of 2022 and have been enjoying it since. There's bowling football (kinda), darts, and occasionally corn hole. In the summer, there's food trucks and a restaurant has opened at the end of the parking lot. The drink variety is pretty great with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with snacks. You get coaching when you go in for a group to help you learn how to throw and get to play a variety of games. If you have enough time, you can try throwing the big axe. What I like most about Urban is that the employees are super welcoming and the axe community is too if you decide to join a league. You can learn to tweak your throw from a variety of different people and hone in on your technique. You don't feel bad when you're first not great at throwing since so many people want to help. There are various groups that host fundraising events and charities that collaborate like BARCS and Baltimore Humane Society. Give Urban a try!

Recently finished Mike Harris' Intro to Improv 101 course (7 week course)- it was a blast. Had fun and learned a lot. As a student you get to go to all BIG's shows for free which is nice, good learning opportunity. They have various types of improv shows every Thurs-Sat nights, been to several and enjoyed them. Highly recommend taking a course or seeing a show. Am now in Michael Furr's standup comedy class which has been amazing so far. Aesthetics wise, it's no luxury theatre (they rely on donations and grants to stay operating, so this is understandable!) but it gets the job done and is homey. Convenient location near a few local bars. Parking Tip: If attending an evening show, get there early if you want to find easy street parking right out front (cheap, pay via kiosk or Parkmobile app). There's a parking garage across the street that's $5 if you tell them you're there for the theatre.

He was super attentive to his students, encouraged everyone to set their own boundaries and promoted open communication through games and improv. By far, Party on the Avenue is the most inviting and memorable. I have been to POTA twice and both times, have walked away feeling satisfied. A couple of things you should know: 1. The party is upstairs - so if you walk in and no one greets ya... it's because who actually parties on the main floor? 2. The paints provided are legitimate paints. They don't run and it's not the cheap paints you get from these overpriced paint nites. 3. The canvas is flat, which is nice... especially if you want to frame them after you've finished your masterpiece. 4. Amy is so energetic and helpful. She always has a big smile and music playing, so she can dance her way around the paintings. 5. You can bring your own booze. SOLID. 6. These "parties" will last you a solid 3-4 hours, because you're usually relaxing and enjoying your time but you're also painting a more difficult photo usually. 7. The calendar on the POTA site let's you know the "event" days. My favorite, obviously is Paint your Pet night. Amy drafts up a pencil sketch or your pet and you paint it... really is an awesome experience! So who's ready to paint, hon?
