I have been a consistent customer at this restaurant since early 2018 (with a brief pause during the first year or so of the pandemic), typically frequent it at least once a week, and lways order the same thing -- the lunch special and a cup of house made chai, which until today has been refilled as much as I want. Today, for the first time, I was told that the chai (which comes in a smallish coffee cup and for which I am charged $4.50) only comes with 3 refills, and this is a new policy on account of the pandemic and increased costs. This was not listed on the menu, nor was it communicated to me (a loyal customer) when I placed my order. And one of the 3 refills I received was only half a cup. When I complained about this to the manager, who knows me as a frequent customer, she would not budge. I am not sympathetic, as this was never communicated to me, prices at this restaurant have already gone up, and the cost of a cup of chai (especially the small cups used by the restaurant) is de minimis. As a matter of principle, this restaurant just lost me as a loyal customer as well as my extended family, which also lives in the area. read more

Best Indian restaurant I've tried in the heart of Glendale. Definitely will be coming back. Food had great flavor, service was awesome. They even threw in complimentary dessert, Gulab Jamun. They were wonderful as well, I have only had them at a buffet in Artesia. They were warm not overly sweet and very aromatic. I was in the area and wanted to try the top rated Indian restaurant in town -- and sure enough this place does not disappoint! I had the Shrimp Jalfrezi, Onion Pakoras, and some garlic naan. Tons of shrimp in the Jalfrezi, huge portion of the Pakoras, and delicious naan. Being my first time there, I ordered the food to go, but the decor is lovely and authentic, my next visit will be for the dine-in experience. Pleasant owners and staff. First time at an Indian Restaurant so my expectations were high, and expectations were exceeded! We ordered the eggplant salad, tandoori platter, and lamb vindaloo. I'm an eggplant lover, so I take my eggplant dishes seriously lol but so good for a starter. Tandoori Platter came with different kinds of meats (chicken, beef, beef luleh, and lamb) side of your choice of white or brown rice and naan. Asked for garlic naan instead of the basic one for a $1 extra and so worth it! Lamb Vindaloo is something I've never tried before and it was amazing!! Lamb was so tender and no gamey taste whatsoever. The Vindaloo sauce goes so well when eaten with naan. Service was awesome and the waiter/waitress/hostess were very informative and provided suggestions. Just a tip: Indian food is meant to be eaten by hand so don't hesitate to use them fingazz to eat, but they do provide utensils though lol. I work in the area so will definitely be back!! read more

Greeted by friendly staff over phone and in person during pick up. Ordered the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and samosas which came with mint and tamarind chutney. The tikka masala came in 16oz container and with a few pieces of chicken, it was a little pricey. But great flavor in the sauce from the onions, ginger and fenugreek leaves and different from others I've had that are dairy heavy. The garlic naan was very fresh and the samosas were stuffed and huge. Everything was still hot when I got home. My favorite part of the meal was the tamarind chutney. What a great restuarant this is! Not only is the food authentic and on point, the service and staff are just so kind, attentive, and easily knowledgable about the menu throughout. Quality is slipping significantly beginning of this year. I gave 3 more attempts the last 2 months and each time there were issues with the bland taste, over cooking the chicken in the curry (too rubbery) and the low quality/ old chicken tikka (triggering a stomach ache). I'm not sure whether the manager changed cooks (most likely) or quality control isn't maintained. Its too bad, this was a convenient location in downtown Glendale and I would have liked this establishment to be my go to Indian restaurant. I'm going to review their lunch special which I have had twice now and have to say is such a great deal. I usually get their Chicken Tikka Masala lunch special because it comes with the most side dishes hehe. It usually comes with a side salad with a curry yogurt dressing, (yum!), a side of daal, aloo mater and of course the Chicken Tikka Masala. It also comes with rice and naan (extra fee for garlic naan). It never looks like a lot of food but it's surprisingly filling! Next time I will try to branch out and try their other lunch specials, I have yet to try their Chicken Frankie and definitely want to see what that's about. They also have some intriguing appetizers I have yet to try and is definitely on my list for next time. I better bring my sister so we can share more things! This place is amazing. India food at its finest. They have 2 locations, Glendale and Pasadena. Family owned and ran. I have been eating here for over 15 years and it never gets old. I bring my family and my kids now and they love this place too. The service is so great. Always greeted with a smile. The owners will personally come and welcomes each and every guest at the tables. I mean who does that anymore! There are so many options to pick from. Prices are so affordable. Lunch specials are great for a quick bite on the go. The dinner atmosphere is so nostalgic. What a great find during our Rose Bowl trip to the area! We ended up eating at the All India Cafe two nights in a row so we could sample even more of the menu. Everything was delicious and well-spiced, from the lamb curry, dal of the day, tandoori meats, and chicken korma. They also have a number of unusual appetizers, so don't just stick to the usual fritters. The service was very friendly, including great recommendations. Yesterday after my wife's concert at Forest Lawn in Glendale my buddy Bob West, friendship of 45yrs and his wife Hadyee ask us to join them for dinner. We gladly excepted and Haydee suggested we try India food. It's our first time and we always wanted to try it but never had the nerve. Haydee found this beautiful restaurant All India Cafe and what we loved about it (because India food is known to be very spicy) this place is the opposite. We were greeted with a lovely smile by Sonia, who not only help with some food suggestions but also let my wife know their food wasn't spicy. Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb VindalooSambar, Lentil SoupBasmati Rice toast garlic bread was unbelievable all dishes we shared and enjoyed. Sorry for not having pictures of our food but take my word it was delicious . Our dessert was fantastic Sonia suggested carrot pud inding. It was very delicious and we all wanted more but decided to wait until we come back again. The restaurant has the option of sitting inside our outside we sat outside and enjoyed all the people walking and exploring the area. Inside the restaurant was very clean and the ambiance was so beautiful it made you feel like home. Everyone who works at All India Cafe we're very helpful and customer service oriented. Very nice Indian restaurant. I will admit I haven't had Indian food except for one time before this years ago! And I did not like it that first time BUT THIS PLACE IS GREAT! They have a nice selection of vegetarian/ vegan options as well as meat options. I'm a stickler for good basmati rice and theirs is supper fluffy and good. I would suggest getting the shrimp chat I believe it's called as an appetizer. The shrimp are to die for! Also the Arnold Palmer they have is really good! It's homemade lemonade and tea I believe with ginger. Overall this place was really great. The flavors and seasonings were all so different but complimented each other very well. The prices were also really good! Nothing was over $20 or at least the majority of the menu isn't. So really good prices for reasonable portions. Overall I'd say if you want to try a good Indian place than this is it! Also they have a little section that I'm guessing is a bit more traditional seating where you sit on these padding's on the ground. It's really nice! ALSO the waiter we had was super friendly and just very accommodating. He accidentally forgot to put in something we ordered but was very sincere in his apology and he was just super nice overall. This has been my go-to delivery place during the pandemic! My usual has been chicken tikka masala (medium spicy) with white meat, veggie samosas, and garlic naan. Their curry is flavorful with the right amount of spices, but keep in mind that you will need to request and pay more for white chicken meat (so worth it). Garlic naan is always fresh, never burnt, and lightly seasoned with minced garlic. Veggie Samosas are definitely a winner. Perfectly crispy on the outside and fresh, quality potatoes and peas on the inside. The tamarind and green chutney sauces are the cherry on top to my warm, crispy samosas.
