First time here and we really liked it! Noodles are handmade and the soup broth was outstanding! Actually, the broth is the first thing I taste. Looking forward to coming back and trying the spicy beef noodle soup. The potato string shrimp was a great side dish. Love that you can see the chefs in the back, creating the noodles. Customer Service was excellent. Located in Pasadena on Colorado Boulevard, obviously had to park in a parking structure, this is the only bummer of eating in Pasadena, street parking is extremely limited. We will definitely be back!
Was here for lunch over 2 weeks ago to meet my friend that works in the area. We walked from her office near Paseo to old town and we ended up here. There's a menu outside of the place so you can browse so you can check it out before going in. Since this was a slow day (most offices were closed day before a holiday) we were seated right away. My friend ordered beef with rice and I of course wanted a noodle dish. The server suggested some noodle dishes but I felt too hot to go for soup so I ordered the eggs and tomatoes over knife cut noodles. So eggs were overwhelming TBH and I wished I ordered what the server suggested but I do love the noodles. You can tell they're freshly made. Will definitely return to try the popular dishes. The tables are close to each other so you can see what the next table ordered. The beef bone soup looks really good. Dining area is clean, casual and good space for friends and families. I see a lot of young kids with parents. I If you're into fresh noodles definitely try this place out.
Quick service and really good broth. I got the knife cut noodles but next time I would try the thinner ones. The spicy version has a fun kick to it, and is very flavorful.
Popped into Noodle St. in Old Town Pasadena for an early lunch, and was thrilled to discover this small chain offering Asian fusion creations. It's a comfortable spot with padded banquettes or chairs at the tables, which feature chrome frames and (very good-looking) faux marble tops; along with white walls and light-colored wood accents, the owners have created a clean, simple, welcoming environment. The mood is jostled even further into a specific vibe of calmness with the carefully curated music being played: bossa nova covers of pop hits from bygone days (The Bee Gees' "More Than A Woman" and the Bee Gees'-written Streisand hit, "A Woman In Love" being examples), but it all works. The menu offers a varied selection of dishes from several Asian cultures, from Chinese Beef Rolls to Japanese noodles and soups to Korean Beef over rice. It's not a huge menu, but there's definitely enough there for everyone to find something interesting to eat. The food is all cooked in view of the customers by a staff of chefs working in a sparkling clean kitchen enclosed by windows, and the staff is uniformly friendly despite juggling a lunchtime crowd at the tables plus quite a lot of to-go orders. I tried 2 really enjoyable and satisfying dishes. Beef Rolls featured thinly sliced brisket rolled inside crispy fried crepes with scallion, cilantro and a touch of Hoisin sauce. The brisket had a mild but distinctive flavor that spoke of careful preparation, while the slightly astringent pop from the onions and herbs was a nice foil for the inherent fattiness of the fried crepes. The Hoisin sauce was very subtly deployed, lending tasty support without overwhelming everything else. I added some of the house chili oil for a little extra spice and peppery depth, but these well-made rolls were terrific all by themselves. It should also be noted that the portion is very generous, especially for the price ($12.80), and more than enough for 2 people (perhaps 4 people, if each has 1/2). My other dish was the Qinghai Clear Cold Noodle, a terrific-looking, and even better-tasting blend of thick, chewy noodles, fresh chopped garlic, veggies, tofu and chili sauce that's got a bit of heat but more so a pleasing depth of Chinese spices. This appetizer is packed with flavor and just happens to be Vegan (as are a number of menu items), so it can be enjoyed by anyone. All in all, this was a fantastic mid-week lunch that pleased the senses without breaking the bank, and I even brought some home for later. Do give this Noodle St. a try -- and if you're not in Pasadena, check their website, because they have 8 locations, with a 9th opening soon in Sherman Oaks.
As the name of this place would suggest, this restaurant has great noodles! I ordered the savory braised chicken noodle ($15.80) and scallion pancakes ($7.80). The noodles came with plenty of chicken, potatoes, onions, bell peppers, and of course, knife-cut, hand-pulled noodles. The dish had quite a kick. They went heavy on the Szechuan peppercorn, and my mouth was tingling during all of dinner! The chicken was tender, and the noodles were fresh and perfectly chewy. But in my opinion, there were just too many onions! I felt like I had to dig through onions to find the noodles. The scallion pancakes were delicious. They came out hot and perfectly crispy. The service was also great. The staff was friendly and kept my glass of water full.
Solid place that I would absolutely go to again and try something new. The place is bright, open, clean, and a decent size inside. Service is fairly quick (have to be to keep up with the amount of people coming in and out) and friendly enough. The food (outside of mine) was very tasty and had a decent selection size. Great flavor and very fresh. Mine (seasonal veggie) was very underwhelming. The taste, compared to everything else, was mid. It needed salt or some other seasonings. I ended up adding chili to it, which helped, but not much, which made me think salt was the missing factor. Not sure how that happened because the other soup, and my friends braised chicken noodles, tasted absolutely perfect. If anything, the other dishes were super bold with their flavors. I love that you can pick different handmade noodles. They were so good. A little chewy and cooked well.
On July 23, My family decided to eat here for dinner. As we entered we noticed how super clean it was & so were their restrooms. The restaurant is very organized & attention to details. As we were seated we saw the chef actually cooking in front of us, this place is known for their handmade noodles. My friends and I decided to try this place out after reading the wonderful reviews & seeing the pictures of their dishes. I was also craving soup so this was the perfect option! We ordered their chicken wings, garlic string beans, spicy beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes, & beef scallion roll. The food came out within 10 minutes of ordering, which I appreciated since I was starving. The soup was packed with so much flavor & had a generous amount of knife cut noodles. The beef rolls had a nice light flavor to it & wasn't dry at all. The garlic string beans were PACKED with garlic, which was delicious. The chicken wings were a bit dry but nonetheless still pretty good. My friends really liked their scallion pancakes & devoured them all. Overall, I would definitely come back if I was ever in the area again. It definitely satisfied my cravings for Chinese food.
Great quick service. It was a chilly day so we wanted something soupy. You get options from appetizers, noodle soup, and rice dishes. There's an option to choose what type of noodle you want: round, flat, triangle, or knife cut. No matter the type, the noodles were very fresh, you can even see them making it through the large clear room in the back. I ordered the signature beef noodle with triangle noodles. The soup needed a tad bit more seasoning but it was good, especially the noodles. Temperature was perfect. Great quick place to drop by if you're shopping in Pasadena. I would probably come back and try the other items in the menu.
Nice clean open space with authentic fresh food. Service is top notch and fast. Very friendly and accommodating for the party of 10 I went with. They even have TVs for sports games
Had a great experience at Noodle St Pasadena. The food and service were both really good, and I loved being able to see the cooks making the noodles fresh to order. The quality was solid, and everything came out hot. The chicken wings were great, the garlic green beans and cucumber salad were amazing, and the signature spicy ramen was really good too. It was a bit greasy, almost like birria, but the meat was tender and the broth tasted like it had been cooking for 48 hours deep, rich, and full of flavor. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the Korean beef. It was way too sweet and didn't really give Korean BBQ flavor. The meat seemed more steamed than grilled, and not even vinegar or chili oil could save it for me. Other than that, everything else was fresh, flavorful, and worth coming back for.
We ordered the chicken noodle soup. It was ok. The triangle noodles were a little hard, soup was a little salty but it was fun to watch chefs make the noodles live in the window. The ambience and service were excellent. Very clean and pretty restaurant. Think I have to try a different kind of noodle.
Noodle St Meeting up with friends in LA and this was such a great spot in Pasadena. It's a cool experience because you can actually see the chef making the noodles right in the window while you're there. I went with the signature beef noodle soup (15.50) and chose the knife cut noodles. The bowl came with sliced beef, radishes, cilantro, and leeks. They were very generous with the amount of noodles they served, though I honestly wish there was a bit more meat included to balance it out. Everything tasted fresh and it was the perfect place to catch up with the group. Fresh handmade noodles and great group spot
Stumbled upon this place while trying to go to a nearby cafe down the block. My husband loves noodles and this was a happy gem that we found. The staff was nice and the noodles was delicious! Is the best noodle I've ever had. Nd I'm a noodle fanatic. Thy serve northern part of China style noodle , specifically lanzhou (兰州拉面）and it comes with ur choice if variety of hand pulled noodles. And knife sliced (刀削） noodles The noodles are well made nd it's extremely tangy with amazing texture The broth is also well seasoned The dinning area is also clean and spacious Service was fast and thy will take the time to explain what each item comes with and the spicy levels of it Over all, 10 outta 10 mandatory to try when in the area read more
I had the beef noodle soup and it was pretty good. Generally, I cannot tell the difference between freshly made and regular noodles most of the time, but not here. I would describe the noodles tasting (not texture) kind of doughy, but in a good way. The broth was rich and enjoyable too. My only complaint is that they could add more meat, as it was only a few thin slices of beef. So even from just a nutrition perspective I would hesitate getting it again just because it's not nearly enough protein for a full meal in my opinion. Overall I enjoyed it though, I do recommend trying if you are into noodles read more

After a long day of walking around, we decided to warm up at Noodle St. Being able to check-in with Yelp was super helpful and gave us a good idea on wait time. Once we were seated, we were met with a friendly server who offered recommendations to our party depending on spice levels. I tried their beef fried rice and the portions were huge for the price! I had to get a braised egg and it made for such a great combo. I also tried their chili oil and loved how spicy it was. I wish there was a Noodle St. close to my city! read more

Noodle Street in Pasadena is hands down one of the best spots I've been to in a while! I ordered the black tea at 50% sweetness (perfect balance ) and the beef noodles -- honestly, the best I've ever had. Everything tasted super fresh, and you can literally see them making it fresh right in front of you. That alone lets you know it's legit. I also got the beef roll and it did NOT disappoint. Packed with flavor and made just right. On top of that, it's in such a beautiful part of the city. Pasadena is always a great place to walk around before or after you eat. Definitely a perfect first date spot lol. Great food, great vibe, great location. I'll for sure be back! read more

Server very attentive. Would check on us often, refill water and had taken time to give us bib and hair ties. Food came out very fast. I got the flat noodles w/ beef noodle. The noodles were bouncy. The meat was tender and overall good amount of food! No complaints read more

There was that familiar Friday night hum in Old Town, the kind where you can feel the weekend settling in before you even sit down. We stopped into Noodle Street for dinner, craving something warm and steady to close out the week. We ordered two bowls of the spicy beef noodle, one savory braised chicken noodle, and a plate of green beans to share. The noodles are what keep us coming back, clearly fresh made with that springy chew that holds up even after sitting in broth for a while. The spicy beef had a deep, slow building heat rather than an aggressive burn, and the broth tasted layered and developed, not rushed. It was a surprisingly short 10 min wait for weekend dinner at 7:30pm. Very bright, spacious and clean inside. Obviously the noodles are the star of the menu but only got the beef roll and lamb skewer this time. Service was attentive. Food came out very quickly. Beef roll was packed with green onions and thinly sliced beef, sweet from the hoisin sauce, and not dry or oily. If you don't like green onions or cilantro, definitely not the dish for you. Lamb skewer was juicy and had a nice kick of spiciness which paired well with the cold refreshing cucumber appetizer. Each dish seemed small but the combination of the 3 was filling You can see the chefs rolling/cooking the noodles and other dishes through the glass in the back. Pretty good but pricy relative to beef noodle soups. A chain since I think they have one near UCLA also but the chef seems to try to innovate by using kale instead of the typical bok choy. It actually worked so I think that's a smart switch for nutritional value. Lamb skewers were overpriced, 9.95 for those three skewers. Service was friendly, a bit slow but nothing to complain about. Ambiance is a typical restaurant, the bathroom was a bit hard to figure out but it was after a run for me so could be my food starved brain. Would I go again? Probably not on my own but would go if a friend wanted to try it read more
Visited Noodle St on a whim since I was in the area. I had the Korean BBQ rice bowl which was yummy. My son had the vegetable soup with knife cut noodles which he liked. My husband had a chicken plate with a type of spicy numbing oil that he was not a fan of. As for the service, I was very impressed. Tried this place with my sister and mom and we loved it! The cashier, young lady, was NOT friendly at all. She actually had an attitude all interactions we had, BUT I food made up for it. The other interactions we had with a few other people who worked there were very pleasant. We got a beef kbbq rice bowl, and we also got these beef pancake like things, but they weren't pancakes at all.. it was more like a burrito. We loved the detail in the chopsticks definitely took the to go because the quality was great. We sat in the window seat and it was perfect. Great view to people watch! It's packed with flavor and cooked perfectly every time. Our go-to dishes are the green onion pancake and the spicy beef noodle soup--both are incredibly delicious, rich, and full of bold, comforting flavors. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully prepared, with just the right balance of seasoning. My daughter especially loves the green onion pancake, which says a lot because she's pretty picky! The service is also a big plus. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always helpful without being overbearing. On top of that, the ambiance is really nice, comfortable, and welcoming. We were seated right away on a Saturday night and there's ample seating in the restaurant. Service was quick and attentive. I tried the knife cut noodles which were chewy and thick. I think I would opt to try the flat noodles next time for a flatter noodle. Items ordered: - Beef roll pancake: Really good pancake! There's a lot more cilantro and green onions compared to other beef roll pancakes I've had in the past, and I wish there was a bit more beef, but overall still solid. - String beans: Pretty good flavor but the portion was a little smaller for what you pay for - Signature beef noodle soup: A simple soup that I would definitely order on a cold rainy day or if I want something comforting. This was my first time getting the tomato egg and it was sooo good! I highly recommend this dish. The flavor was really balanced and it was personally enough to split into 2 meals. The portion size for the price was worth it for me. I will definitely be ordering this again when I get the chance. Service was nice. They even gave us bibs so we didn't spill onto our clothing. I'm glad I found this place! I love spicy beef noodle soup but hadn't had it in a while. This rendition featured a lot of kale, I saw some mentioned they order it without - I would consider doing that but I didn't mind it too much. The noodles were terrific and the soup had decent flavor, but I've had better (about an 7.5/10). But for a chain this was solid. The beef roll pancake was really good, and I enjoyed the watermelon juice. My cousin said her shrimp stir fry noodles were a 8.5/10. Service was A1! Cool, modern ambiance. If I'm near a location and need to satisfy a fix, I'd come back. Now time to waddle around these Pasadena streets until I'm not so full! Lol read more

It was a rainy and cold Saturday evening. My girlfriend and I finished our service hours and craved for something warm. Since the wait for hotpot was 45 minutes at 4 pm, we decided to walk over to Noodle Street to slurp some hot soupy noodles. Noodle street was fast sitting us down. I'm surprised the restaurant was kind of full at 4 pm. After browsing the menu, we decided to have the spicy beef noodle with the knife cut. The soup broth was rich with a mild spicy kick. It was perfect on a cold rainy afternoon. The beef was very tender and well marinaded. The noodle was very chewy. The bowl of noodle was a perfect hit to the spot. The ambience was casual and welcoming and servers are very attentive. A perfect early dinner to warm us up on a rainy night. read more

Yes. They do use white sesame seeds in their chili oil condiment jar. The Veggie Noodle Soup does contain sesame oil, but it's removable. Also, the Korean Barbeque Beef with Rice does have white sesame seeds, but removable.
