Large delivery order for 6 people arrived hot and well packaged (deli containers) in branded bags. Taste-wise, the food was good. Portions were small, with a lot of sauce, not a lot of meat (12 oz for tikka masala and makhani each had about 4-6 oz of chicken) saag paneer (8 oz, 5 3/4" cubes). Lamb vindaloo seemed a bit more meat than chicken dishes. All the sauces were thinner than expected (chutneys and raita included). The only item that was thicker than expected was the mango lassi. Some of the best Indian food we've ever had! Garlic naan was made so well. We ordered the fish tikki masala and Vegetarian Tali. Vegetarian Tali came with nirvana tofu and it had so much flavor. Our waitress was very young, polite, and professional. We ate at one of the lower tables. Great experience but it was uncomfortable for me. My legs were too long and I'm only 5 ft 6. I bookmarked the Pasadena location a while back after it showed up in my feed a few times, and later realized they had a second location here in Glendale, right off of Brand - easier for my bestie to get to. I had an appointment in Glendale and, like any reasonable Angeleno, decided I'd rather kill time with food than sit parked on the 5 pretending it's a parking lot. Yelp told me I was dangerously close to All India Café, which had been sitting on my "to-try" list, so in I went. The Chicken Tikka Kebab came out sizzling and fragrant--juicy boneless pieces that hit all the right notes of cilantro, ginger, and garlic. But the real MVP? The green sauce on the side. Bright, herby, tangy--it was so good I considered asking for a to-go tub and calling it dinner. The little pickled veggies were a fun bonus too. The Peshwari Naan was sweet and nutty, almost dessert-like, though it came with a jam that didn't really do it for me. Still, naan on its own? Yum. I also ordered the Gajar Al Hawa dessert--warm, carrot-based, and surprisingly comforting. Unique flavor, but I was into it. For drinks, I tried the Maharaja's Fashion (their Indian Old Fashioned with saffron bitters). Couldn't really taste the saffron, but the bourbon and orange combo still worked. Service was warm and attentive without hovering, and since I rolled in early evening, I pretty much had the place to myself. We were working for a place to eat and happened to stumble in here! Immediately, we were greeted by our server who offered us lounge seating on the floor or a standard table (try the lounge). As a vegetarian, Indian food is typically an amazing option and this place was no exception--our waitress was able to provide several recommendations and options and we tried an assortment of things all of which were delicious. They served me chicken Tikka masala for the lunch special and after a few bites I noticed the chicken was rubbery, so I asked for a few extra chicken pieces on the side. My friend was craving butter chicken, so we decided to try All India Cafe. The service progressively got worse through our visit. We wanted Samosas, but the waitress kept showing a variety of options on her phone trying to get us to order potato sliders. We don't want that. They didn't want us sharing an entree but one was enough. We ordered saffron rice but received basmati. When we asked is this saffron they said no it's basmati and walked away. Well this a pretty nice little spot nestled at the heart of Glendale. Just walking in, it's easy to be enamored by the lovely decor and intimate lighting. . Now, when it comes to the Punjabi cuisine, they stuck with your traditional dishes, and added an interesting Gulabi Farfalle Pasta dish that saffron curry base with bell pepper, coriander, turmeric, and cumin. To start with, the Pani puri shots made from tamarind and mint spices was a refreshing amuse bouche that helps cleanse and prepare your palate for the delicious food to come. The potato samosa was dense, but in a good way, with more potato than breading, which you can get from some other places. The mint and tamarind chutney paired well with the samosa. The onion pakora similarly struck a nice balance of crispness and savoriness without being too oily. Simple, but delicious! On the drink side, the mango laasi is one of the thickest I've had and yet it wasn't too sweet, either. It was refreshing. The same can be said with the Chai which was spiced well, but not sweetened at all. It tasted like actual Chai. As for the entree, the two best was the butter chicken and the Gulabi Farfalle Pasta, while the Saag Paneer and Tandoori were a bit underseasoned and less memorable. But the tandoori, which was not red because they don't use red food coloring, struck a nice level of tenderness and was not too dry, which I have found with some tandoori chicken. The garlic Naan had a very nice crispy texture to it, but I would love a bit more kick with the garlic. So the best two are the butter chicken, which you can never go wrong at any Indian restaurant, and particularly here. It was savory, filling, but not too heavy. It can be too salty if not balanced with some basmati rice, but it's not too rich, either. The Gulabi Farfalle was the most surprising and adventurous of the dishes tonight, combining two different worlds in one dish with bow tie pasta and the saffron curry base with bell pepper, coriander, turmeric, and cumin. read more

Both the server and the owner consistently checked in on us and were so incredibly kind, and the server has such amazing energy when giving us her recommendations (which she was absolutely spot on about btw!) I love the mint chutney with this. Vada Pav, recommended by Prit, was a first for us and OMG! YES, please. Prit did not steer us wrong. Lunch Plates - Chicken Tikka Masala, Fish Tikka and Chicken Tikka with saffron rice and of course, garlic naan. Chicken Tikka Masala is always a fave. Fish Tikka, recommended by Prit, were thick cuts of fish. The pieces weren't dry and the seasoning was perfect. The seasoning didn't over power the fish. Attended the wonderful Ravi Shankar Ensemble Concert at the Alex Theatre on March 31, and afterwards I was starving. But not surprisingly, the All India Cafe a block away was packed with customers. The next day i was meeting nearby with a friend and i mentioned the night before. Entering the All India Cafe we were warmly welcomed by a man who soon told us his nickname was Happy. The waitress quickly brought ice water with lemon and after we ordered brought Aldo Paratha, a sumptuous foot-long tube of warm whole whole wheat bread stuffed with flavorful mashed potatoes. It was a delightful warmup for my Chicken Tikka which was tender and flavorful, but not too spicy, just as I'd requested. My friend had chosen one of the combination specials and raved about his meal as I savored mine. We both agreed the generous portions tasted fresh and tastefully seasoned. It was obvious to me that it was the best Indian meal I'd experienced. To top it off, Happy brought us complimentary dishes of rice pudding with crushed pistachios sprinkled on top, which at the time seemed like the perfect followup.
