8 years ago, I experienced a great move with upack. The pick-up and delivery were prompt and on time. Excellent customer service, they were patient and professional whenever I had questions about the process which led me to use their service once more. Fast forward to today. On planning the move, once more the staff were excellent to assist with my planning as I knew there was going to be some delay between the time of packing and the availability of my new residence. They made me feel secure in a plan to pick up my trailer on 31Aug and deliver it promptly on 09Sep. The customer service professional advised me of an ideal plan and that they would hold my items if they happened to arrive too early. No problem, right? However, they didn't pickup on 31Aug as described, unknown to me I had to call for trailer pickup that was supposed to be pre-arranged but a call cleared that up on 01Sep and they hauled it off. Since then, the trailer has been parked in Winston Salem, NC. A follow up call to their toll-free number on 08Sep to a less than interested employee suggested it may arrive on the 11th but they do not deliver on weekends so it may be the 12th...13th...14th even. At this point I'm wondering if I am going to require shopping for a new wardrobe to start my new job at my new location. The truck location still showing Winston Salem, NC and it's the day it was intended to be delivered. I have had to reschedule my unloading staff appointment and have no idea when to expect arrival of my belongings. My first experience would have been a 5/5. This experience, I would rate a 1/5. At this point I feel concerned my property is not secure and that it has not made any movement in 9 days. read more

****UPDATE 8/30/2019**** ZERO STARS!!!!! Today it was verified by AB Freight that "Reliable Movers" put the barrier wall up 3 feet further then it should've been, resulting in damage to my stuff. The owner, Raymond didn't even have the nerve to address it, call me back, NOTHING!! I will be filing a serious claim, they SUCK!!! Moving Staffers recommended them and until I get my stuff returned back to normal, this review will be going all over the World Wide Web My beautiful bedroom furniture 6 months old, destroyed! My couch of one year, destroyed! Numerous items, destroyed! ****UPDATE**** 8/27/19 ****ZERO STARS "Reliable Movers" moving company is a FRAUD. After my bill was processed, I found out that they had me sign for 9ft of truck usage but SUBMITTED a bill for 12 ft, therefore charging me an additional $380-!!! The office manager Shantee' texted me all the pertinent photos except for the one that shows the footage used. Now the owner, Raymond will not return any of my calls! "Reliable Movers" is blaming it on AB Freight and AB Freight is blaming it on "Reliable Movers" but yet "Reliable Movers" submitted the amount of footage used because they packed it. Never will I use this whole U-Pack CRAP system again!!!!!The terminal people are rude, they say you can track your truck and see it's location daily, yet they are RUDE on the phone and hang up on you in mid-sentence, as if they've rushed you off the phone! It clearly states when your moving expense amount is to be debited yet my whole fee and then the additional $380- was taking on day 1 of the transport and my truck was barely out of MD! I will NEVER use this system again, I will NEVER buy another mover lunch and try and be polite to them. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! They helped me move from Florida to VA IN 2009. They brought me the container. My friends and I packed it. They picked it up. Drove it to VA. When I got there mom had unpacked it and moved my stuff in. Seem less move. I would totally do it again. Especially moving to another state. I bought the locks to lock the container which ensures that I only have access to the container. read more

I highly recommend U-Pack Moving, they moved me from Virginia Beach VA. to Melbourne Florida and they had the truck here within four days and the staff from the beginning was zero pressure, since I was not sure with dates they were professional and kind to answer any questions and the driver who delivered the truck was an amazing young mature man who this company is blessed to have as an employee, who hired him made a great choice for this company. In general, I was quite pleased with the service. They did what they said they were going to do and it all worked as described. I was particularly impressed with their ability to get a truck to us quickly. Shipping by U-Pack was a last minute decision. We ordered a truck one day and it was there ready to be loaded the next day. The only problem we had, and it was a small one, was some communication lapses on the truck pick up after unloading. We finished unloading about 4:00 in the afternoon and I called the local distribution company as instructed and they said they would pick up the truck the next day. About 4:00 p.m. the next day, I still had not been contacted about the pick up so called again and they had no record of being notified. They were able to pick it up the next day. No big deal as the truck was not in the way. read more

Best household moving company!! So impressed with the staff at ABF Upack. Met the nicest gentleman, who was the driver, named Eugene, a.k.a, Junior from this Chesapeake location. I cannot give this person enough praise! He was the driver that delivered my goods in Williamsburg, VA. Very personable and professional with high energy!. Because of Junior, ABF will be the first company I call for my next move. The day before another full service moving company from hell showed up at my door and told me my estimate is wrong and my cost will be 40% higher. Luckily I had some leeway and did not need to move that day. The company owner was surprised by my decision not to use their service assuming I was trapped. Back to the drawing board, I stumbled on ABF Upack when googling. I could not have been happier! The customer service reps on their toll free number were so helpful, upbeat and professional. The very next day a trailer was delivered to our home. We had to pack the trailer ourselves which was not a problem. A bulkhead used to separate cargo can be locked. The remaining space is used for commercial shipments. Therefore, there is only one household move is on a trailer eliminating any confusing of ownership. When we finished loading, the driver returned to pick up the trailer. My goods were on their 1,400 mile journey. I could track my goods trip using their website. A nice little perk! ABF offers to options to move which I did not know until I called. One is UPack and the other is a trailer. The first option is you pay by the cube. The other second is you pay by usage on a trailer. In my case, this was, by far, the least expensive option. It is worth checking both options when doing your homework. Again, thank you ABF for your exceptional service. We were moving from Suffolk to the Seattle area and I was looking to reduce our moving costs since relo wasn't part of the new job. Full service movers came in about 11k. Doing a rental truck and driving it ourselves was another option but Upack ended up being about $1k more and then we weren't driving a heavy truck across the country, so worth the money. We went over our estimated space and ended up at $5100 for a cross country move. You rent the truck space...no weight limits. It's a super tall truck and they have online estimates for the space you will need. Had I sold that darn treadmill I would have been almost on my estimated length. No big deal in the grand scheme of things. The phone call to the national number was excellent every time. I only waited once over many calls to speak to someone. You reserve a date and can change it anytime or multiple times. If you cancel there is a fee if too close to the move date. So we were in a condo community but the driver arrived on time and parked it so it wasn't an issue. The ramp is 12 feet long and super grippy. You have to pack high to the top to avoid damage AND you need a ton of furniture pads and tie down rope. It's not their fault furniture rubs and gets damaged. Invest a little money in the packing materials. Don't get cheap boxes...they cave in. Get good quality moving boxes. We got a lot for free at Uhaul store nearby that are left after other moves and I bought boxes for what else I needed. Our damage was minimal b/c we put some money into our moving supplies. Once loaded I called for pickup and they were able to squeeze me in the same day. The driver was courteous and helpful. I couldn't get the bulkhead door bottom bar to fit and he brought wood to put across for support. The diver on the other end removed that before drop off so we didn't have to deal with it. He also set up the ramp for me and moved the truck twice to make sure we had clearance walking off toward the house. We have moved a lot in the 15 years. If I could have afforded the full service move I would have. The damage we did incur was due to running out of furniture pads and being at the end of the space...figuring out how to deal with the last minute weird awkward stuff. Only other damage was stupid packing I didn't oversee when it was loaded. Friends are helpful but in this case I should have been watching the upper levels myself. I wouldn't have packed some things the way they did. So be diligent. Keep heavy stuff to the bottom, boxes in the back, and then furniture. Upack is a great alternative for long distance moving and is a fair price. We used a trailer that was dropped off at our place and driven to our new destination and my review is for that service. We had an excellent experience on both ends and I highly recommend this process if you can not afford the full service companies. read more

Excellent move because of u-pack! They were on time and drivers were courteous. We got the trailer, filled it and needed more space, they had another there the next day. Delivery if trailer at new house was smooth as well. They dropped off the one trailer, we unloaded and they picked up and dropped off second trailer when called. Great service. Would use them again! read more
