I don't know why I took so long to try Noon since it's walking distance from me!…read more I know we have a lot of options when it comes to treats in the South Bay Area but Korean bingsoo is in a class of its own. For me, regular shaved ice usually lacks enough syrup or the ice is too hard. I'm such a wuss, I know, but I hate feeling like I overpaid for a cup of ice. It has been brutally hot and today seemed like a great day to have some shaved ice. The cafe is located in a Korean plaza on Western and 154th. Smoking Tiger coffee is also in the same plaza. The cafe is on the smaller side but there's lots of seating and you can take your orders to go if you want. It's cashless and you take your tray and trash to the counter once you're done. The menu has everything from fruity flavors to Asian flavors like hojicha and injeolmi to Cinnamon Toast crunch. You can get an individual size or larger size to share. The interior is minimalist with vintage-looking posters of the business. They have WiFi and complimentary water. We ordered matcha and mango flavored bingsoo. Both had a tall pile of ice with ample toppings and more syrup layered inside the ice which I think is an important very often overlooked step. I can't wait to return to try out more flavors!

There is a parking lot onsite. We came on a Friday evening since they are open later than some other dessert shops and it was so busy! We tried the sweet corn and mango bingsoo. Service was friendly. Bingsoo was refreshing but in the corn one, we didn't love the texture from the chocolate chips and in our mango, the chunks were very big and we just wished it was a bit more bite sized. Overall a great spot and we like it! Lots of seating which make for a great date or spot with friends.

Sweetie : ice cream with honey drizzle Honeymee : ice cream with a honeycomb *but what I usually do is ask for a sweetie with a honeycomb or a honeymee with honey drizzle. My husband has tried the shake too and it's just as good as the ice cream. It's such a simple dessert but sooo good. It may look "plain" but the taste is everything but plain. The ice cream and honey just go PERFECT together! Always a good treat.

The place has this classic ice cream shop feel with pastel aesthetics mixed into a modern clean vibe which mixes practicality with style. I LOVE the glass panel decoration and the front decor which are simple details yet convenient decoration. The options have an interesting range in diversity, from ice cream and drinks. Their combinations are so unique, blending trendy flavors like matcha, honey, and many more delicious flavors. My favorite flavor I have tried so far, was the Dalgona Affogato--which I picked because I was thinking of the squid games. The dessert was so smooth but the honey was slightly overbearing. If that is not to your preference, they have other options that can certainly fit to your taste buds. The ice cream is perfectly sweet and an excellent treat in this summer weather. The honey crisps placed on top of the ice were so little, which I wished they had a bit more since it tasted so good with the smooth ice cream. Another thing I hoped was for the affogato to be a bit bigger portion. But then again, I am unsure about the sizings of affogato since this is my first time trying it. Thank you Honeymee Gardena for the experiance, hoping to try more in the future. (Update: Making this edit because I accidentally spelled the cafe name wrong in my previous review which I apologize for. The typo was made because when I was writing the review, I was also very busy so I wrote everything in a hurry and wasn't able to make changes. And yes, this update took so long to be made because when I write reviews, especially in this case, I often do different reviews all at once.)

It was his first time going to Beard Papa because there is a Persona collab currently going on. Purchased a 4 pack of the collab cream puffs from an older male employee working there. There were communication issues because the worker couldn't understand the simple order. Eventually my SO got his order, paid and left. He brought them home to eat, took one bite of the cream puff (Joker themed strawberry cheesecake-filled cream puff) only to find the filling was just plain vanilla. Understandably upset because this wasn't what he paid for, he went back to get replacements because now we can't trust that the others have the correct filling either. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be any other employees/management present so my SO had to confront this same male employee. No apologies or anything for the mistake. Instead he kept repeatedly doubling down about how he wasn't told that my SO wanted something different. The onus should NOT be on the customer to just KNOW that the fillings can be changed. Especially if it's their first time visiting. Nor does it make sense that the DEFAULT filling for the collab pastries should be anything other than advertised. My SO had to raise his voice and demand replacements, and this employee threw a tantrum by rolling his eyes and tossing the old ones with an attitude. You don't belong in customer service if you can't handle simple orders and taking accountability. He seriously needs to be retrained/disciplined/fired. SOMETHING. This man was awful and rude and this is absolutely unacceptable behavior.

I chose the Wagyu Omakase, and it was definitely a big and filling meal. You cook each piece of wagyu one by one at the counter, so this is a great place if you want to slow down, enjoy the process, and really take your time with dinner. The meat was very good, although some pieces were more heavily marinated than I personally prefer, but overall it wasn't too much. The service was good, the atmosphere was nice, and the whole experience felt very Japanese and authentic. The surrounding area also has quite a few authentic Japanese restaurants, so it's a great neighborhood for Japanese food lovers. Definitely worth checking out if you love wagyu and want something a little different from the usual sushi omakase!

Their omakase has three price tiers, and only the $90 per person option features A5 wagyu. If it fits your budget, I highly recommend this set. While it's a $90 per person teppanyaki counter experience, be prepared: the 98% of meat requires you to grill the meat yourself, so mastering the heat is crucial! I also tried their grapefruit choju--made with freshly squeezed grapefruit juice--and their matcha beer from Kyoto. I highly recommend both; they're absolutely delicious.
