I had the banana pudding cake it wasn't great it was just ok but 10-out-10 I've been here 3-Weekends back to work !!! Also Make sure to Tip.... Hands down my favorite place to grab something sweet or savory! It's always busy, even in the rain, which is how you know this place is THAT good. This is the last place I took my mom before she passed away - she was doing hospice and craving ice cream. I knew this was the perfect spot for her, not only for the variety in selection but the pricing is always fair and the quality is incomparable. My mom loved the Butter Pecan. Look the plane isn't in the best neighborhood but their snacks/goodies are really good. I love their chilli with cheese. It's really good. The chilli hot dog isn't my favorite but it's ok. The lemon water ice and ice creams are all really good. I wish they put a little more effort into making it look nicer from the outside. They do look really clean which is nice. INACCURATE BUSINESS HOURS AREEEE......BAD FOR BUSINESS!!!! I am pretty disappointed because I was looking forward to trying this local ice cream shop for the first time after discovering it on Apple Maps. On a Saturday night I drove from Koreatown to Jean's Ice Cream shop for dessert since it was on the way to my next destination. Hours are listed as 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. I arrived at 7:50 p.m. There was a couple people waiting for their orders which gave a good impression but when I approached the window to order the young lady told me they were closed. I asked what time they closed and she told me "8" I told her "it's not 8 yet" then she said "we close a quarter till 8" I asked her once more if she could just take me given that I had driven a distance and was looking forward to giving them some business but all she said was "sorry." I know it may be the end of a long day because I myself work at a fast food restaurant but refusing service within your business hours doesn't give a great appeal. Maybe one day I'll check it out. I've observed this on more than 2 occasions: The older lady that works in the back preparing the rice/chili bowls never uses gloves. She gets the cheese from the bowl with her hand. Very unsanitary. Some friends of mine talked me into giving the location a try. You have so much to choose from. I guess that why the menu can now be pulled up by QR Code. I purchased two 8oz size of chili. A kid size of praline and pecan ice cream and a size bigger of pistachio for the hubby. When I received the bag with the cups of ice cream, they seem a bit small. My pralines was more like a tease due to the kid size. When it said "kid size" that's exactly what it means. The ice cream was good so my advice, go with a pint. The chilli was okay. It taste more like that brick chilli. Very salty and not all that thick. The menu states that crackers for the chili are ten cents each but I figure that must be the fee for extra because they are generous enough to put some in your bag to go along with the chilli. My advice, get it along with some rice to help dilute the saltiness of the chilli. Would I go back? Yes if I wasn't trying to watch my health. If I wasn't as old as I am. The ice cream was fresh and delicious and tastes homemade. The consistency is nice as well. It's not a soft serve. It's scooped but it's not too hard. The chili smelled delicious and I really wanted to try chili cheese Fritos but I had also ordered the ice cream, so I couldn't eat both in the car. The reason for only 3 stars is that We also ordered slices of cake and they were HORRIBLE!! Perhaps they were old and stale but they were cardboard consistency with no flavor. They taste like box mix cake left out for several days. There was no moisture at all. I was soooooo disappointed because we drove over 20 miles based upon a recommendation to come here. Maybe I'll try the cake again on another day. It might be more fresh. But if you really want some delicious cake that you know is homemade and delicious, try Sweet Red Peach in Inglewood.
